I was excited to give this place a try. It seems like they are popping up all over the metroplex these days! We ordered a variety of things. Chicken flashers, fries, sweet potato fries, classic burgers and specialty burgers. We all loved their sweet potato fries. They were hand cut, delicious and a menu item you don't see in drive thru places. The little hat is where it's at. The ratio of bun to meat to toppings was perfect. We liked the variety of toppings offered and the fact that their sauces were made in house. Their ranch was REALLY good! Hat creek is a great hybrid restaurant. Menu items like a stand alone but convenience and prices of a drive through. We will be back. read more

My kids have been wanting to try this place since it opened, and we finally went today. First look none of the tables in the seating area were wiped down. Most tables had crumbs, sticky stuff and chairs left out which made me think they weren't clean. I saw another customer wiping her own table down. Service was friendly at the counter, and we got exactly what we ordered. The hamburgers were nice, big and juicy. The fried pickles were very soggy, and salty. Whatever seasoning they use on their fries, and in their breading is very salty. We just did not enjoy the meal because everything else tasted like salt. You cannot have a great burger without your fries! We may or may not be back hoping it was just a heavy hand. I will be sure to update if we do. read more

Finally checked this place out. I got the smaller cheeseburger and chicken nuggets with fries. Chicken nuggets were a decent size and pretty ok, I should I've asked if they had more sauces as chicken could've used a little oomph. They did offer ketchup though. Don't go within an hour of then closing you will just get whatever they have left over. Then when you try to call they will not answer the phone. Walking in I saw an employee (GM, I found out later) having a follow-up conversation with a guest and her special needs young man and it warmed my heart and gave me a good feeling about my first visit there. The subsequent experience went upwards from there. Michelle Shavinsky (GM) made a great recommendation on the Classic Burger and then also threw in some damn good (not frozen) chicken nuggets, and they were wonderful as well as the burger with fresh crisp vegetables. The restaurant was clean, and the employees' uniforms were crisp and clean and their hospitality skills where at a high level. Cudos to Michelle and her leadership and Cudos to Hat Creek for an outstanding concept. I should qualify myself and say that I have 30 years in the restaurant business, and I am extremely critical. I've visited this location a few times and wasn't impressed. Yesterday my son joined me for the first time and he ordered the grilled chicken flashers, their take on chicken nuggets. It was like someone grilled an unseasoned chicken breast until it was dry, then cut it up. He wouldn't even eat them and after trying them myself, I wouldn't either. I went back inside and got the fried chicken flashers which were a little better, but neither of us would eat those again either. The sweet potato fries looked like they would be good, but they were a bit soggy. My burger was ok, but nothing I would run back for. I did appreciate when I went back inside to order more chicken that they comped them since the grilled version was so yuck. Unfortunately we don't plan to return. read more

Went thru the drive this evening 08/02/2023 ordered two loaded tater tots, the Big Hat, and the Cowboy as a combo meal. The Big Hat had only a single patty and nothing else. The Cowboy had only melted cheese and nothing else. The loaded tater tots were meh. The only high point was the ranch dressing that came with the loaded tater tots. It tasted fresh. Not sure if other locations are better or worse. Plenty of room for improvement in quality control and is a teachable moment with the line/window staff to make sure this doesn't happen again. read more

Got the classic combo number three with sweet potato fries and a Dadgum IPA on tap. Beer was good of course, sweet potato fries were the bomb, burger was adequate. The "Hat Sauce" is phenomenal. I want to give this place 3 1/2 stars, but it's not four stars yet. A little more attention to the burgers and you've got four stars from me. Playground was perfect for our toddlers. My boyfriend and I came here twice together and absolutely loved the burgers and fries since I'm pretty picky on fries. I get the sombrero and it is AMAZING. I also really enjoy their honey mustard (huge fan) and since we've gone he's already gone twice this week again with his friends. We're very big fans. Update: changing my review due to the swift response I received from David. Customer service at its finest. I have no doubt they will work to improve. I've been here twice, utilizing the drive through. First time, got home only to find out they shorted me two burgers. Being that I live 15 miles, it wasn't worth my time to return. The second time, i stopped through the drive through for myself, got home and found that I received a "little" hat and not the big hat I longed for all day. All of these have been within the last two weeks. Note to self moving forward, check order before leaving, no matter what restaurant it is. read more

First and last time for this place. 2:30 in the afternoon I went through the drive through since no one was there and ordered a black bean burger and fries. Fries were cold and so I took them back in to get fresh ones. I should have checked the burger too. I live less than 5 minutes away and the black bean burger wasn't even warm and the bun was hard. Hat Creek is no different from any other burger place, OH with the acceptance that you can order Alcohol in the drive through. First impression, this was my first visit. The menu was not accommodating, I found it a little confusing and found no soda listing. I shouldn't need instructions to read a menu. other than that the service was mediocre, fine. It is a fast food drive through after all. The real part of the revue comes down to the food... Burger quality was Meh... dry with hardly any flavor. How did I get lettuce that was frozen on one half and grill hot on the other? Still better than the french fries,YECH! Cold and hard! It was 4:15 in the afternoon and very much NOT BUSY and I couldn't even get fresh fries!!! This is where you loose me. If this is what I get for $12 then maybe this place is too cool and hip for me. Less work on getting your customers drunk in the drive through and less money on the decor. Here's an idea... Concentrate on the food. It's what you're there for. read more

I am going to preface this, that this is not about the food or the service, since this is my first time going and the staff was doing the best they could to keep up, and the food once we got it (after 30 minutes) was what was asked for and was good. This review is a guide as to when NOT to eat there. We made the mistake of going at noon on a saturday, I should of known better. It seems every Keller day drinker with 5 kids all decided to descend on this place at the same time. The place was LOUD very loud, young kids were everywhere, you could barely take two steps without almost stepping on them playing on the really dirty floor, or open a door without unintentionally smacking one with it. They were loud, they were everywhere, the parents quietly downing cans of coors light in order to manage to survive the chaos they have helped inflict upon the world. I get it, the place has astroturf and a playground, and TVs playing kids shows, I have children, I don't dislike kids. But I looked around and felt a little sad for the people who were slowly dying inside realizing that this was their life now, until their screaming little ones transform into screaming tweens when they decide to switch from coors light to something stronger to numb the pain. My advice to someone considering a visit as an adult or couple, or with kids over the age of 11, go during the week for lunch, maybe try a late evening dinner. If shrek or ice age is on the TVs, and you can hear an ambient noise level somewhere in the area of 140 decibels as you approach... turn around, come back another time, don't do this to yourself because you deserve so much better. Sat in line for 30 minutes from 8:30 to 9:00. Only to be told I can't be served because someone had a very large order that held up the line . They should learn to be considerate of people that have been sitting there and waiting patiently .
