Got hungry the other night and drove thru Hat Creeks drive thru. I was greeted nicely and got great service at the menu bird. I tried one of the combos with a strawberry shake. Swapped my fries for tator tots on of my favorites. Well like everybody you can't wait till you get home to start on your fries or tots in my case. They were nice and hot and crispy. But something was off on them. Not sure if it was bad oil but they had a chemical taste and the inside was really grainy. Really disappointed Now for the burger. Wow great first impression once I got home and unwrapped it. Tasted amazing everything tasted fresh. Good flavor and filling I could even taste the cheese. The strawberry shake was food but pricey for the size. The girlfriend liked it and I got a couple of sips in and it's was good. Overall a worthwhile stop. Hopefully they'll figure out the tots. I'll rake that up to a bad bag of the tator tots and needing to clean the fryer. read more

My boss likes this place. But no matter what the other is ALWAYS wrong and missing some. On this large order... missing ALL the condiments asked for. The drinks were wrong and one of them had a green leaf floating in it along with what looked like little red pieces of something...we asked for crispy tots and fried .... all were soggy and oily. Last time was almost same thing. Missing items, items not cooked but then it was burgers look like they had been sat on. I hate giving bad reviews. We rolled thru the drive thru and I was loving all the choices. I used to be a hard core paleo. I loved seeing on the menu and also they have gluten free options. How awesome! I ordered a turkey burger with cheese. It was yummy and hit the spot. It didn't photograph well. Haha! I had sweet potato fries. They had a nice crisp. They have their own sauce. Ordered for 8 people online and waited an hour for the food to be ready only to be met with the wrong burgers, no sauces in the bag that were clearly listed on the receipt. Employees don't care about service and just rush to get you out of there. They didn't double check for sauce needs at the drive thru window either. Avocado was brown and old. Very busy evening, spent $40 on an adult meal and two kids meals. Food took over 20 minutes to come out and when it did everything was ice cold as if it was all cooked mid afternoon for the dinner run. I can hear multiple tables around me also complaining. I originally gave hat creek 5 stars but the last two visits have been awful. The woman working now doesn't pay attention to anything. We order the same thing every week and somehow it's messed up now. I never had an issue before. They get my order incorrect everytime, they don't add the reward points and now when we got home my husbands burger was messed up too. For someone with allergies I used to love coming here and now we won't be back due to several mess ups with our orders. Even after fixing my burger today, I didn't get a refund for the extra charge they charged me when I said no to adding cheese. The people who work there have definitely changed and I'm no longer wasting my time going through the drive thru then having to go inside anyway to get it corrected just for it to be wrong a second time. read more

Stopped here on a whim yesterday and asked for the western burger combo. First I asked what was on it and was told cheese, sauce, bacon, and red onions. I asked for it without onions. I got onions. It also quite surprisingly had pickles, which I despise. No one said there would be pickles. I discovered the pickles on my 4th bite. I almost chose not to take that 4th bite because the first 3 were so bland. It's as if they did not season the burger at all. And the barbeque sauce was not to be found up to this point. So I went from disappointingly bland to, IMHO, exceedingly gross when I took that 4th and final pickle-filled bite. You may like pickles, dear reader, I do not. And I'd expect them to be disclosed when I affirmatively ask what is on the burger. Bland burger patty and pickle surprise aside, I also had some fries. The fries are seasoned, which can be good or bad. I don't know what seasoning Hat Creek uses, but it just doesn't fit the fries at all. It's obtrusive and harsh. The fries were not inedible, but definitely not something I want again. Finally, the combo came with a child-size shake. This, at least, was quite good. But this child-size delight was not enough to save the overall experience. I will not be returning to Hat Creek anytime soon. read more

This was a great day for a lunch at Hat Creek! The weather was fantastic, the roll-up doors were open, and my little one hand a blast on the play ground...and no mask were required! Loved feeling normal again. The hamburgers were fresh with a hint of sweetness in the bun. Kids meals were $5 which these days is a plus. So I would have given 3.5 stars if i could. Burgers are 4 stars. The meat is the best part. The cheese is pletlntyful and melty. The lettuce seems wilty but I would think that's due to the burgers being HOT. Buns seem to be smashed so that's good for some but I'm not a huge fan. My biggest issue is the shareable fried pickles. For 5 dollars I expected something similar in size to the loaded tots or fries. What we got was a normal fries container that was 3/4 filled. I could have dealt with the size but the pickles were terrible. They were ordered crispy and they were nothing close to that. Very soggy. The real issue is that they were so salty that they are inedible. I would have returned them except this was a take out order. Definitely would never order the pickles again as they just weren't good and seems to be totally over priced. read more

We have 3 vegans & a burger lover in our crew, & it's hard to find places with good food where we can all eat together. We decided to take a chance on Hat Creek, with low expectations, & we were so pleasantly surprised!! The vegan bowl was delicious! The veggie burger surprised me when it was served without a bun and in a bowl, but it was still fantastic. I'd recommend asking for extra lettuce (& pickles if you love them like I do) when you order. My boyfriend said his burger was really really good, & their fries & tots are definitely worth the extra calories. The staff was helpful & friendly as well! This has become our go to burger place! It has everything you want in a burger - great tasting patty, good choice of toppings, moist bun that doesn't fall apart, and solid fries, sweet potato fries, or tots. What really tops it all is how considerate they are of gluten allergies. They offer a gluten-free bun, and serve these sandwiches in a separate bag from the rest of the order. Also, they use a gluten-free breading, so their crispy chicken, fried pickles and fried green beans are all gluten-free. For those wanting to dine-in, masks are required, masks and gloves worn by all workers, several tables are marked as closed, to maintain social distancing, and during the course of our meal, employees wiped down the tables every 10 minutes. There's a playground for little ones, beer for the adults, and Tuesday evenings offer $2 off all combo meals. Is it the best burger I've ever had? I can see why this place became instantly popular despite opening shortly after the pandemic started - it offers family-friendly food and plenty of socially-distanced outdoor seating with kids-playground thrown in too. The "hat" is an extra patty of top of the burger (so essentially a double-burger). I tried the normal hat which was a typical burger with fresh ingredients (lettuce, tomato, bun, cheese and of course beef burger). My friend had the chicken sandwich, which comes either fried or grilled (for healthy people). They offer multiple sides. We both had the french fries, which come with a red salt seasoning that I could like without. I didn't see that they offer complimentary "fry sauce" (probably a combination of mayo and ketchup). This place serves up a decent burger but I really liked how they provide each table with a bottle of hand sanitizer. I've been going here pretty regularly since moving to the area several months ago and have really enjoyed the food, especially the buttermilk chicken nuggets and the big hat burgers. But something happened on my last visit - my order was mixed up and after they fixed it, the food was awful. The nuggets and burgers were tasteless except for being covered in pepper. When I ask about getting a kid size, for a 5yr old I was told yes they have a kid size but it doesnt come with the worms and oreos, just ice cream, surely as management reads this they will understand how thats a big miss. For being a recently opened burger joint, this place wasn't too bad. I loved the play area outside and the family friendly atmosphere it offers. We went through the drive thru after church last Sunday, and it was very fast! I ordered a Turkey Burger with fries, and my boyfriend ordered the classic burger. The fries were absolutely incredible and by far my favorite part! The burger however, was not the greatest. The bun was extremely hard and did not present to be anything special. We have 3 small kids and they playground area was just perfect for them! It has soft, artificial grass surrounding the area perfect for our 1yr old to walk and fall on. The food was just as good. I visited this establishment for the first and last time. I went through the drive thru, ordered 2 little hats, fries, & a drink. When I got home to eat, one of the burgers had very visible mold growing on the top bun. Both sets of buns were firm to the touch, as if they were stale. I called the phone number on the receipt to report the moldy bun, and someone named Chloe asked if I would like a refund or to return to the restaurant for them to remake the burgers... as if giving them another chance to sell a stale or moldy bun was a smart decision. I opted for a refund and asked when the refund would be processed and in what amount. Chloe replied stating she was "in the office, not the store" and couldn't process a refund right away, but she assured me she made note of my receipt number. By offering chicken, burgers on lettuce, bowls and customization options, it becomes a great choice for people who aren't into burgers or are watching their intake. It seems like fast food, but it doesn't taste or look like fast food IMO. read more
