Keller Public Library - So sad.

I love the Keller Public Library! They have a variety of books, puzzles, games, movies, tv shows,…read moreand other things to choose from. I love the atmosphere and always come here if I need a cozy place to study. They also have lots of fun activities for all ages.

So this isn't breaking news or anything, but here's my new discovery for the Keller City Library:…read moreeBooks, audiobooks and Freegal Now I'm not completely thrilled how they work, as checkouts and downloads are limited, but hey, it's free, so I can't really complain. For eBook and audiobooks you are limited to three holds and three checkouts. Lending period can vary from title to title (most are 14 days). The books I've checked out are in Kindle format, which means you need either a Kindle, of one of the the free Kindle reader apps (available for a variety of platforms). Unlike a real book, it does not appear you can return material early in order to check out more material Freegal Music gives you access to millions of songs from over 10,000 labels including the Sony Music catalog of your country (in MP3 format). You are allowed a measly 3 downloads per week. If you are patient enough, you can download entire albums. Another thing I just started looking into is Mango Languages, also available with your library card. Maybe after 10 years of marriage I will finally try to learn some Vietnamese, beyond the most rudimentary of basics that is. As I mentioned in my earlier review, Keller City Library is part of the MetrOPAC system. Other MetrOPAC Libraries, which accept Keller Resident Library cards, are: Fort Worth Public Library Benbrook Public Library Burleson Public Library Haltom City Public Library Richland Hills Public Library Watauga Public Library Oh, and here's a cool tip: If you book is overdue, renew it on-line. If the renew is successful, it's won't be overdue anymore. I'm not sure if this works with DVDs, which carry a stiffer overdue fine. Lastly, this library can be noisy. People just don't seem to know what library etiquette is. Perhaps the expectation of a quiet library is changing. I agree with Tee, if you are looking for a quiet place to study, this may not be the pace for you. The Texas Motor Speedway may be a bit quieter ;-) Nowadays I find bookstores more quiet than libraries, and many even have tables (and coffee shops).

I called to see about getting my grandson's Bible repaired. It looked like he had played a few…read moregames of basketball with it. The back was off, but the inside Bible itself was intact. The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. And, I'll be sure to pass on their info. Customer service is a lost art, but not at The Book Doctor!

Amazing experience. Candice & Co. are a top shelf, first rate operation, and came through above and…read morebeyond the call of duty. If you want a quick-and-dirty commercial fix, this is not your place. But if you are looking for a European time machine that will take a beloved book back to what it was or even better, this is the spot for you. We came to the Book Doctor with a small devotional, quite honestly a lost cause with no cover or binding and several severely damaged pages. We were hoping for some sort of cover and binding to preserve it since it is of great sentimental value and over 90 years old. What we received back was a gorgeous gem, a true made-to-order family heirloom. Not only was the cover beautiful, the binding is a work of art and pages we thought were lost forever were delicately and expertly restored. We stand amazed. Again, if you expect to do it on the cheap and have it by next week, forget it. But if the book in question matters to you and you budget for time and money, plan in advance, make an appointment with one of their experts, then expect the best. These are artisans who will pour all their skill and experience into your valued piece and devote entire days solely to its restoration.
