Unfortunately, our experience with Joybird's product durability and customer service has been disappointing. Recently, the ball bearings on the drawer runners rusted and fell off, making the drawers unusable. When we reached out to customer service--willing to pay for replacement parts--we were told that Joybird doesn't offer support or replacement parts for furniture older than six months. No repair options, no parts for purchase--just nothing. For a $2,000 dresser, that's unacceptable. Furniture at this price point should be built to last, and if issues arise, there should be a way to fix them. Unfortunately, Joybird seems more focused on selling new pieces than supporting their existing customers. If you're considering buying from them, be aware that if anything goes wrong after six months, you're on your own.

My last sofa…read morepurchase was back in 2016 and it made it's way through like 5 apartments before I finally said goodbye and decided it was time to pull the trigger on something new. I still loved it veryyyyy much so a new couch had big shoes to fill! Joybird caught our eye for awhile from mostly Instagram ads, but we confirmed with the couple people we know with one that they are good couches that they would 100% get again. I am never ever one to buy something as expensive as this without an in person sit test so we planned to go check it out at this showroom and I am so so happy we did. We were confirmed that they are beautiful couches, and we also discovered that the couch we originally liked was wayyyyyy to firm for our taste. After a few more sit tests we found one we loved. And after lots of deliberation we found a fabric we also loved. The Anton Sectional (basically just a big chaise) looked great in the store and even better (if I do say so myself) in our living room. And so much love to Aiza, the saleswoman who had been extremely attentive to us during our search. She gave us info when we needed it and space when we wanted to keep looking/chat amongst ourselves. There was another woman there who was extremely kind and helpful as well, even after she knew we were already working with Aiza, she was just there to chat, offer opinions on colors, etc. They helped us see the color swatches we liked in different lights, took a look at pictures of our rug and offered suggestions on what would look best and made a big decision a lot less intimidating. We left with a couch purchased and ready to be shipped! And even after warning us that they very rarely will be shipped earlier than expected, our came about 2 weeks before we were initially told, a holiday miracle maybe?? Delivery was easy. Scheduling it was no problem at all and now we have a big, beautiful, comfy new couch that our dog is fairly obsessed with.

Reckless handling and zero accountability--Destroyed my vintage furniture…read more I am beyond frustrated with the absolute lack of professionalism and accountability from AptDeco. During a recent sale, their pickup team was incredibly rough with my furniture--a Century Furniture piece from the 80s that was a cherished family heirloom. Despite my repeated warnings that their handling would cause damage, they continued to be reckless and completely destroyed the item. I have video and photographic evidence of the item's pristine condition prior to pickup, as well as the damage they caused in real-time. Despite this, AptDeco is now attempting to claim the item was "damaged upon pickup." I saw them ruin this piece with my own eyes. To make matters worse: * Customer Support is a ghost town. Every email is answered by a different person (Von, Alex, etc.), and no one takes responsibility. * The phone lines are a sham. Their listed support number (646-586-9056) disconnects immediately when called. * Unsafe practices. Their third-party partners showed up at my building at nearly 9:00 PM without notice, which is a significant security concern and completely unprofessional. AptDeco has done nothing to resolve the $160 payout for the damage they caused. If you value your furniture or your sanity, do not use this platform. I am currently preparing a BBB complaint and filing in small claims court. AptDeco Management: Contact me immediately to resolve my payout.

Aelfie emailed the next day to apologize and tell me the Aziza was sold out in the 3x5 size. She showed me several other styles in that size and said I could choose one of those or size up to 4x6. Since I had my heart set on the Aziza, I told her I would size up and asked what the additional cost would be. She said there would be zero additional cost because the fault was hers for not keeping better track of inventory. Thus I received a gorgeous 4x6 rug for the price of a 3x5 rug. What a generous gesture! The rug arrived today and its vivid indigo-blue and creamy white stripes are even more beautiful in person. I look forward to purchasing more rugs from Aelfie, who is not only an enormously talented artist, but an ethical and admirable entrepreneur.

Under the guise of another craigstlist score like the $5000 credenza he'd scored off a guy on the upper east side just last week for $500. (I mean who says no to a craigslist run with the guy who scores a $5000 credenza at that kind of mark down?) They were two breeders with a keen eye for fashion and a strong nesting urge, and I just love nesting too so I was along for the ride. Anway this is all beside the point, but I feel like that's how Yelp reviews are supposed to be formatted. Obnoxious self indulgent personal aside, followed by earnest outpouring of love/vitiriol for local buisnesses. This review being one of the former. Aelfie's is located..... I don't know somewhere in Greenpoint, in what's essentially one of those old industrial buildings that have been converted into lofts/studios. You know like the pinnacle of chic these days. Probably THE best part was as we walked into the studio Peter Bjorn and John's Young Folks was playing over her iMac. It was almost too perfect on so many levels. The owner is a BA-bizzie, she was almost equally as pregnant as my buddy's wife and had such an awesome hustle going on . All the rugs were like either hand made in Uttar Pradesh and designed in her studio or sourced from markets in Instabul./Morrocco... I felt serious DIY #fomo. These are the kinds of buisnesses that the world needs more of...well I mean the world actually needs like a lot more important things than super cute rugs and throw pillows. Picture this - the rug of your dreams is suddenly on sale - and I mean REALLY on sale. But the Pop Up is only open for 4 days, and they aren't willing to ship. Except this one person who works there steps up and say "hey, I can help!" So after 3 days of back and forth, and failures on the shipping side (nothing to do with the store) with only one hour to spare, you get a text telling you that it was finally picked up. I never stepped foot in the pop up, a friend spotted the rug for me and facilitated the transaction. She was horrified to hear someone (as she was actually buying 4, rather expensive, rugs) that Ricky shouldn't do this. This person actually got pissy about Ricky helping! About Ricky offering exceptional customer service - and yet he persisted. First, shame on the biotch who didn't want to simply put the carpet aside and wait for UPS. What kind of stellar experience is that for a customer buying a luxury product (regardless that it was on sale, it still wasn't free) Lucky for The Rug Company, Ricky Kuma was there to help, create an exceptional experience, and make sure that I got to add another Rug Company carpet to my collection. You see, obviously, I have a big mouth, so I want everyone to know about this great experience. But it could have gone the other way - and I could have started telling everyone to shop for rugs elsewhere - but instead - Ricky has a customer for life, and I will tell everyone about this exceptional service. BTW, these rugs are like miracles, they will make a room. And you better love it, because you will have it for forever.
