My husband and I had just finished walking through the park nearby. We saw Harry's on the corner as we were heading back to our hotel. We decided to sit, have a glass of wine and just relax a bit. We were seated outside (not under the canopy). We ordered wine and appetizers. My husband ordered the Caprese Salad and I ordered the Salted Beef and Mozzarella. We had just received our wine, which by the way came with a nice variety of small munchies, when we noticed that the sky was definitely darkening above us. The rain was threatening to soak us through. The staff was at Harry's were so wonderful while they rushed to quickly move us and those in the tables around us quickly to cover. They even allowed a young family with a carriage to duck under the canopy to keep from getting soaked even though they were not paying customers. When our appetizers came we were surprised by the portion size. They were much larger than we'd anticipated! They were quite tasty too. The prices at Harry's are steep by comparison to our time in Abruzzo's Marche region; however, keeping it mind it is Rome, the price increase was more or less expected. read more

Being on the intersection of two major streets leads to quite a bit of road noise while sitting outside. Superior food, an elegant modern-style setting, and truly gracious service make this one of the finest dining experiences we have had. We stopped in & ordered a few drinks. They were the worst drinks we ever had. They were so strong & didn't taste anything like what we ordered. When we informed the waiter that we weren't satisfied, he wasn't very happy & made us all uncomfortable so we left and went to Hard Rock down the street. All the drinks should've been refunded, but the other 2 ppl gagged their drinks down & paid for them. Our bill was ridiculously high. First time we have ever been there. read more

My friend and I happened to just get lost and stop here for lunch. It was the best service that we had hands down in Rome and was an amazing experience! If a place can taunt it's celebrity visits like Harry's, there's a reason for those visits. Fast and extremely professional service! I used to work in fine dining and they did everything perfect and you could tell they took pride in their hospitality. The food was excellent as well. We both got the Lobster Pasta which came out incredibly quickly! Later I had one of the best Martinis I've ever had. Hands down. And it's my usual. Harry's has the capability to make the usual exceptional. HIGHLY recommend it, and I'll be visiting again on my next trip to Rome. read more

Stopped in for some after dinner drinks. We were seated at a nice small table next to the piano. Drinks are expensive, but you get what you pay for. The setting was beautiful. There was a piano player and a singer that performed great songs. If you are looking for a place to have cheap drinks just to get drunk, this is not the place for you. We went there during an afternoon and had a spot on Buck's Fizz, albeit with a different name. The decor and ambience reeked of old glory days. However, the evening visit was a joke. It was an awful attempt at a Whisky Old Fashioned, with no love in the making of it. The side section was roped of for two pairs of new money Russians delighting in the racket made by an "alleged" singer and her electric painist friend...obviously rejected by all the cruise ships...tragic! Very expensive you better come ready to spend. My little steak cost €38 and it didn't have much flavor. Every plate is almost over €20 and that's also appetizer. On the upside it's a very nice restaurants that has had MANY stars eaten here and I'm sure that's why it's so expensive. I'm sure you can find a better cheaper and flavorful steak in town. read more

Not sure where to start here. If you are looking for good value, stay away from this place. Cocktails are more expensive than those in New York and not as generous. They are, however, well made. As for the food, the place draws a good crowd for dinner but I suspect the locals may just be used poor quality food. (I should add that I am not sure if they are locals per se, given the area, I suspect they are extended stay business travelers). We had rack of lamb and filet mignon. The rack of lamb was flavorless as was the filet. We also found a bone fragment in the filet which we did alert the house to (only got an apology). I have eaten many a decent cut of meat and the meat seemed to be lower than a choice cut. The only thing substantial was the price. If we walk away from a place saying to ourselves "oh man that was sooooo good!", we don't even think or care about what we paid. However, when we walked away from this place, our only thought was "So not worth it". Maybe this is just the norm for Rome? Who knows... But the smaller cafe we ate at for lunch was out of this world and left us wanting more. read more

Very good food but more expensive than it should be. Mediocre service and it is the only Resturaunt in Rome where the waiter reminded me to tip. Not common in Italy. Go for a Bellini and pay for the experience but there is much better food elsewhere in Rome. Service is top notch but what's with Italians on their cell phones (including speaker) during dinner, including even the woman manager or owner. Decent food and expensive prices, but that's to be expected at such a "historic" place. Came in for lunch by myself on a rainy afternoon. When I received my bill, one of the two servers who had waited on me mentioned I --if I so desired-- could leave a tip (only in cash). Mind you I've traveled everywhere, and I know in Europe tips usually follow a meal of outstanding service and quality. While my meal was great, the service was certainly not worthy of adding to my already overpriced lunch. As a matter of fact, I had to ask twice for my check before it arrived. When I took back my Amex after the bill had been paid (the check holder had been taken back shortly after) the first gentleman who took initially took my order returned to my table, informed me that I had forgotten to leave something for the other server and proceeded to hand me back my check. The table next to me was just as shocked as I, yet I still left around 10 euros to avoid any more awkwardness. What if I hadn't any cash? That last encounter really left a bad taste in my mouth over something so petty and downright fractional in comparison to my potential return to Harry's, which is now quite uncertain. It's doubtful that they even care about this review considering they have some clout with their name; tourists looking to be like the glamorous celebrities so prominently displayed throughout the years. Honestly though, why is it necessary to have both a TV reel and prints on the exterior glass showing pictures of the celebrities that have spent time at Harry's? Isn't being even slightly understated part of the Italian restaurant charm? It's a bit tacky and not as subtle for the type of crowd I'm looking to be around anyways. read more

If you're in Rome and looking for a really nice Italian Restaurant and some FANTASTIC bread make a stop in Harry's Bar. It's one of the highlights from my trip given it's a beautiful place, high end, and have a piano player and singer nice experience. The only reason I didn't give the place four stars is because there was constant interference from our meal due to them having speaker problems meaning as we listened to the beautiful music on at least eight occasions during our meal the music blasted. The servers were more upset then some of the patrons. I made the mistake of ordering the sole with spinach there was barely anything satisfying on the plate. My friend ordered the filet medium well it was a huge filet but came out much closer to medium I wouldn't have been able to eat it that red but she didn't want to make a fuss. Overall it was a good experience, a few snafus I would give it another shot if nothing else for the bread. read more
