We needed to replace an old standard height toilet with a chair height toilet due to difficulties caused by osteoarthritis of the hips. Bought a new toilet from one of the large home improvement stores and paid for installation and removal of the old toilet. They came and stated that they were unable to remove a toilet that was grouted to the tile floor. Harris had remodeled that bathroom about 10 years ago so we called them. Aaron came over and removed the old toilet in about 5 mins with no damage whatsoever to the tile floor. He even cleaned up the area so that the installer can easily put in the new commode. I needed someone to help with re-grouting a shower. Although re-grouting is not a typical thing this company does, the owner said he'd check if any of his guys would like to do it as a side job. Cole came to my house yesterday, and did a great job on my shower and a few other areas in my house where the grout had started to come out. He was very nice. He cleaned up after he was done. WOW 10 stars would not be enough to give. Aaron is the Da Vinci of tile. I got a couple of bids for a bathroom remodel and he was actually a little higher that the other guy, but you have to like the person doing your remodel. The other guy showed up and did not really seem interested and had no suggestions at all. He was in the house for about 10 minutes. When Aaron came he seemed real excited and upbeat, was offering suggestions and his personality was just great so I went with Aaron. Aaron listened to me as I bounced ideas off of him and he made suggestions and the bathroom turned out great. He went above and beyond and did more than what was in his scope of work. I called and scheduled them to come out and give me a bid on a Tuesday the contractor called an hour before and said oops I just realized our appointment is in an hour and I said yes it is and he said well you wouldn't happen to be home now would you because I'm here. Harris Tile and Stone just completed a challenging bathroom remodeling project for me, creating a new bathroom and completely remodeling an existing one in my home. This wasn't an easy task since the bathroom spaces were small and a lot of new plumbing had to be done, which involved doing a LOT of digging into the slab foundation. In short, there wasn't much of a margin for error and the potential for a lot of problems! Nevertheless, Rick Harris and his crew were up for the challenge and did an outstanding job, helping create two bathrooms that exceeded my expectations. The project took exactly the amount of time they told me it would when I got the estimate (3 weeks), despite several setbacks. Their crew is small (4 in total), but very hard working, respectful of the home, and good at what they do. Plus, they're all good, decent guys. From what I understand, Rick has been in the business for many years, and it really showed in the work they did and the input he provided when I sought his advice on several design features. Here are a few key things that I think made my experience with them such a good one: 1. Professional and courteous. They showed up on time and kept me looped in on the progress daily. They did a nice job cleaning up at the end of each day. With any big project like this involving demolition and construction, there will always be some residual mess (like a layer of "contractor dust"); but setting that aside, they kept things clean so the rest of the home was livable throughout the duration of the project. Since I started with only one bathroom in the house, they made sure I had a working toilet and shower throughout the whole project so that I could continue living at home. 2. Quality. Their workmanship is top notch, as is their eye for the details. At the end of remodeling projects, you expect to find a lot of little things that need to be addressed. In my case, there were pretty much none! (And I am a very detail-oriented person.) 3. Honest, direct, and true to their word. From the initial estimate to the final payment, I felt like Rick was always very straight with me, and whenever he told me he'd do something, he'd do it. 4. Good subcontractors. The network of other professionals that they use for the things they do not do (drywall, electrical, shower doors) consists of folks who have worked with Rick for years...and therefore unsurprisingly embody a lot of the qualities Rick and his crew have (good workmanship, respectful, hard working, etc.). I should note that I took a chance on Harris Tile & Stone after getting a lot of other bids from local contractors who came highly recommended (not kidding...it took me 3 months to get estimates from all of them!). However, Harris Tile & Stone rose to the top of the heap for a variety of reasons (price, value, project length, etc.), and I am extremely happy that they were available for my project. Rick Harris has a team of skilled, responsible, and amiable guys who know exactly how to tackle a bathroom. We just had a major master bath remodel completed by Harris Tile and Stone and could not be happier with the outcome. We have a large master bath, approximately 9'X18' and wanted to start over and take it down to the studs. Our home is a tract home only 10 years old, but the fixtures, tile, etc. needed updating in a big way. This was a big project and included closing off an extra closet door to expand the shower. Everything was replaced including the tub and shower, tile, vanities with fixtures, mirrors and lighting. In addition, after getting the bid we decided that we wanted to add under tile floor heat for the winter months. Here are a few great things about Harris Tile and Stone. They are tops with communication. Rick Harris was very good communicating and returning any calls promptly and was pro-active about calling with any updates or questions about our plans. Secondly, Harris Tile and Stone only work on bathrooms, "The Bath Pros", and demonstrate professionalism and expertise in their work. They are also very customer focused. I understand they only work on one project at a time and work with the customer until the job is complete and satisfaction is 100%. They are family owned and their crew of Aaron and team do great work. They are courteous, hard working, and in tune with what you want in your remodel. I had a simple request for help on cutting some stone and I called a bunch of tile businesses. Harris was the only one that offered to help. Aaron gladly cut some stone samples for me before I even told him what they were for. I will keep in touch with Aaron and Brian with the results of my Meteorite test. This company obviously thinks they are worth 2.25 times the cost of ANYONE else. We have a SMALL bathroom project, we got 4 bids from different contractors from all over Solano County and this one was over 2.25 times MORE expensive than any of the other bids. This guy uniquely writes you a "bid" without providing ANY specifics or itemization and then at the bottom of the bid, a random HUGE number in which he also expects you to provide all the materials for also. If you won the lottery, he is your guy! If you are on a budget, call someone else this guy is not cost effective or budget friendly. read more

The guys that came out to do the work were clean in appearance and talk. My two young boys stood in the bathroom door alot and watched them work, so it was nice that they kept their words clean and respectful. They cleaned up after themselves.
