Prior to hiring Brandon I received quotes from other companies. Brandon was competitive on price but stood out from others as he used top quality products and the other companies wanted to use run of the mill materials. My guess is the other companies wanted to maximize profit. I have used many contractors in the past and have previous experience in construction so when Brandon relayed to me he wouldn't use subcontractors and would be on-site when he said he would I was surprised and relieved. Brandon also took the time to prep our bath remodel area to minimize dust and debris throughout the rest of the house. His attention to detail and not rushing product drying time between steps was something I was worried about but watching Brandon work step by step put my worries at ease. Brandons input and suggestions to both my wife and myself was not overbearing. He was clear that his previous work and ideas were merely to get the wheels turning without pressure. Additionally, I really appreciated the detail in the tile work. He aligned the drain, shower niche, shower tile, and floor tile to where it all flows together. Had a shower stall that had a cracked/leaky pan that caused some water damage to the walls and flooring. Hired Davis Pro Builders to replace the whole shower stall and repair the flooring/walls and they did a great job! Brandon of Davis Pro Builders did an excellent job replacing approximately 350' of built-up hardwood flooring with wood plank Porcelain tile at my Alameda home. The job was complicated and work intensive requiring the removal of old flooring and building up the my concrete slab with self leveling concrete and then sealing with Schluter Ditra. Brandon's finish work with room transitions and stainless-capped tile baseboard was outstanding. I am very pleased with the finished product and would definitely use this company again on future remodeling projects. We recently hired Davis ProBuilders to re-do our Master Bathroom. Brandon helped us to pick out the counter top and vanity, recommended some whisper quiet fans, and suggested can lighting for the shower area. As we decided to keep the shower tile and tub, he was great at working with that desire. Brandon's work was impeccable. He demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism. Two years ago Brandon completed a full bathroom and kitchen remodel for us. In the bathroom he installed a zero threshold shower with a bench, glass door and grab bar, floating vanity, pendant and recessed lights. It is gorgeous. In our kitchen he raised the goofy 1980s dropped ceiling by nine inches, installed a skylight that required moving a joist, pot filler, can and pendant lights, cabinets, countertops. Every step of the way Brandon was extremely professional. All work passed inspection with compliments from the inspector. I was introduced to owner Brandon Davis of Davis Pro Builders via an app I was using while looking for contractors to do renovations on a new home our family had just purchased. The home was in decent condition but hadn't been updated since built 40 years ago. His response was prompt. We planned to meet and discuss project. Must admit, I was surprised and somewhat taken aback at his youthfulness given the type of job he was coming to bid for. Concerns were somewhat alleviated when I learned of his back story, how he came into his knowledge and experience and his journey to becoming a business owner. Right away I could tell he took pride in his work. He showed what few pictures he had available, explaining the technical intricacies that went into the work that he displayed. We discussed what I was looking for, he listened to my ideas, chimed in with some of his own, took measurements for his bid and stated that he could work with my budget. Given the prices of other contractors I had interviewed, his bid was reasonable, so I decided to work with him. I am glad I did. His attention to detail is refreshing. He is a jack of all trades and master of many when it comes to home renovations. Those he is not a master of, he is honest about and researches and seeks expert counsel from others he knows in the business. He proudly explains all his work to you, particularly the things that are usually unseen and unnoticed by the homeowner but will add longevity to your investment. He appreciates and takes his time with the visible and not so visible aspects of the renovations. He listens to your ideas, has good ideas of his own, will work directly with you when choosing finish products/materials and tries to keep things within budget. He evens throws in unexpected surprises for the homeowner that adds to the overall project (i.e. auto shut off lights, auto on and off bathroom ceiling fans, outlets with usb ports, hard wiring smoke detectors, lubing floor joists to minimize floor creaks in an old house). He is amenable to changes or additions to original plans (I added a couple of projects including hanging a couple of flat screen tv's and running cable and wiring through wall for a clean, professional look, and electrical wiring for a spa I purchased). He is very prompt in responding to inquiries, questions and/or suggestions (no matter how annoying). He does most of the work himself or with his brother Jamal who was also delightful, friendly and very knowledgeable. They essentially gutted and completely remodeled the inside of our 4-bedroom 2-bathroom 1900 sf home. Of course, no project goes perfectly smooth without any issues. The project took much longer than expected-I believe largely because he was doing the work by himself or with his brother- and some timelines were missed. Occasional miscommunication regarding price/materials/timelines. Problems with some of the installs, but these were quickly resolved. Despite initial apprehension, he did a great job. We are very happy with the results. We receive consistent compliments on our home. He and his brother are knowledgeable, personable and dependable with attention to detail. Brandon just finished a remodel for us, which included 3 bathrooms and the tiling in the kitchen and foyer. We got 2 other bids prior to finding Brandon and decided to move forward with his. Brandon is a one-man team, incredibly dedicated, hard-working and is a very skilled GC that pays a lot of attention to detail, particularly with his tile work. I needed major renovations done on my house. I chose Davis Pro Builders and it was the best decision I could have made. Brandon completely renovated my two bathrooms, the entire exterior was refinished with new stucco, he installed 9 new windows and a large slider, replaced a fascia, and also installed new kitchen faucet and disposal. He also spent time in the attic installing recessed lighting and bathroom ventilation. It couldn't have turned out better. Brandon is a young and motivated contractor, his company is starting to grow, he enjoys answering questions about construction, and he takes pride in doing a job the right way with no shortcuts. What I appreciate are the little details that make a major difference. For example, he trimmed a vanity drawer so an undermount sink would fit better, without me having to ask. The mortar bed for the tub was very solid, his caulk lines were clean and tidy, he replaced studs that had termite damage, his trim work is excellent, he also did a superb job on the plumbing, making sure everything fits smoothly. His prices are competitive, I went over budget but that is expected with any home remodel. He also will work with whatever design trend you want. For example, I initially went with brushed nickel fixtures. I had him return those and go with bronze. He also suggested large 4 ft. tiles for a modern look. I decided to stick to my guns and go with subway tile. It would be a little more labor for that, but he caught on to what the bathroom would look like with the color scheme and what I was trying to do. He used bronze metal borders for the shower curb to match the shower fixtures, which turned out great, and we discussed going with a frameless shower door. He installed that glass door perfectly level and it he put in a lot of effort into the bathrooms. He wanted them to look good. He was able to source very good windows at a very good price and he installed them himself perfectly. They look seamless, are level, and have with no excess caulk or material. What impressed me was he had a difficult time installing the giant slider because the original frame was not square. He got it in and did a great job on the trim. His crew also did a great job on the stucco. The exterior makes my old home look new. Overall, I'm happy I chose Davis Pro Builders. Home remodeling costs a lot of money so you gotta make sure you can trust your contractor. Just let Brandon know your ideas and what you are going for and he will work with you because he likes creating things. In September, 2018, we hired Davis Pro Builders to do our full-scale kitchen remodel. From the beginning, we were impressed with Brandon's expertise and follow-through. Many contractors we called to give us bids came over, asked what we wanted, took a few measurements, and then left giving us confusing next steps (eg. Choose the kids of cabinets you want, then call me). Brandon went into the attic to verify what challenges he'd be working with and also what would be able to be removed (we didn't want a post in our center island). We felt Brandon's bid was really reasonable at around 40k to completely gut our 1920's kitchen, create an open concept, and remodel the dining room as well to make the space flow. Brandon also estimated that it would take 5-6 weeks. There were a number of challenges with our house, which, frankly, we expected. We knew our floor was slanted, and our pipes needed to be replaced. Brandon was able to handle every challenge that our old house presented. At every turn, Brandon was great about presenting us our options. In the end, our remodel ended up costing an additional $5k, but that was due to us choosing the more expensive options we had at each turn. It also took an extra 3 weeks to complete, but that was because the options we chose required more work. We loved working with Brandon, and one of the things we appreciated most was how well he communicated with us. There was never a time we were just left to wonder what was happening. Brandon often went into detail about what he was working on and what the roadblocks were. Our experience honestly couldn't have been better. He's a perfectionist, with a very keen eye to detail and is extremely meticulous. I know I'm very picky, but I think I met my match in this guy. He takes pride in his work and is also very knowledgeable. So much so that on too many occasions I would ask him what he would do or if he liked what I envisioned. He was always very helpful and respectful in guiding me. And knowing that I am more of a visual person he would help me to see and understand how things would look. Brandon would explain everything in detail and let me know what his goals were for the day. I wanted a really clean finish to the shower so Brandon had to miter tile corners and do other things which I can't even explain to give me that clean custom look. I HAD NO IDEA what I was asking of him nor how much work it would be for him. But his work is amazing and I appreciate that he went that extra mile for me. And he added other little custom touches that I could never have imagined. And he's neat- cleaned up after himself every day!
