I shop at Harris Teeter regularly since it's right next door to where my boyfriend lives, and overall I usually have a great experience. The store is convenient, clean, and most of the staff are friendly and welcoming, which is why it's disappointing to leave this review. Unfortunately, I'm giving 2 stars due to repeated interactions with one employee, Ms. Stacey. This is now the second time she has come across as rude and overly critical. This morning around 7:15 AM, shortly after I had woken up, she made an unnecessary comment about me and my dog, saying, "you know it's true what they say about how the dog looks like the owner." I brushed that off, but things escalated when two other women approached. I had my dog (a well-trained miniature Goldendoodle) calmly restrained next to me. I gave him simple, quiet commands -- "sit, stay, treat" -- which he followed perfectly. I trained him myself during COVID-19 pandemic, and he responds well to calm, consistent cues. Ms. Stacey then commented, "mom has eyes in the back of her head... you can tell she's been in here a lot because she knows the exact words to say -- I would just change her voice though." Commenting on my tone toward my own dog -- especially when I was being calm, controlled, and respectful in a public space -- was unnecessary and inappropriate. It was early in the morning, and there was nothing wrong with how I handled my pet. I chose not to respond in the moment and remained respectful, but this pattern of behavior is disappointing. I come here often and expect to feel comfortable, not critiqued. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I would like to continue shopping here -- but with a more respectful and positive experience moving forward. read more

Pretty good store. Medium size store close to my work. I run up here at lunch to pick up a few groceries. I am usually in and out pretty quick. Not fast if you have to stand in line. They usually have a line and it does not go fast. That is why I am thankful for self checkout. The other thing is the floor plan. It is chopped isles instead of all the drinks on one isle. They are on 3 half isles and that means you have to hunt longer to find where the item you need is. They do have a great variety of products and a really nice selection of wine. The plus to this store is that they have a beer cooler. The other plus is that they have a nice lunch grab and go section read more

They have green tomatoes for fried green tomatoes!! WOO HOO! Awesome! They also have a great selection of allergy-friendly foods with fair prices! I love the produce and prepared food section! It was all neat and tidy, and so fresh! The checkout experience was just wonderful! Charlotte, the cashier, was friendly and professional as well as Jasmyne who bagged my groceries. The bakery here really went out of their way for me!!!! I ordered a cookie cake for the first Ohio State football game this year, I asked for "Ohio State" to be written on it, and to use the colors red and gray, if they could. When I picked it up today look at what they made me! Wow, it knocked my socks off! Turns out the gal that made it is from Ohio, I don't remember her name but wow! This is a newer store opened early Spring. The box was formerly Farm Fresh. I've only picked up a few items, no experience with shopping since the change over. Find them in the Great Neck Square Shopping Center. Plenty of parking and it was clean. The walk up also debris free and they are selling great looking plants and flowers as you enter. My last visit was for a gift card. They have them up front. The cash register area was nice and clean. The store presents well is fresh. The store did not have much remodeling, but it really did not need it either. Checkout was no hassle and the clerk friendly. I also had an opportunity to talk with a female manager a few minutes. She was pleasant. With no other experience than front end and two visits I will say it was above average. 3.5, rounding up. Not getting the hate on here. The store is clean and staff nice. read more

This is a super nice HT store in a bustling shopping area in VAB. Traffic can get bad here but as long as you go to a light to get in and out, you'll probably be ok. They have all the things I love and a beautiful floral department with lots of arrangements ready to take, they can make one for you while you grocery shop, or they have small potted flowers and plants as gifts. Lots of other nearby shopping and restaurants so you can knock out several things in this area. read more

I'm not here very often but they come through for me when I visit. Signs outside remind you to MASK UP and they have a disinfection station cart. The cart stated to disinfect/ wipe down the cart before and after use. I came to see if the in-store Starbucks had what I wanted. I then proceeded to purchase just few items. Hubby calls me a grocery store snob, decades long friend says I like expensive grocery stores. But the truth of the matter was Harris Teeter was once the longest independent store around until a few years back. Not to mention, they do carry a few things that I have always loved and you couldn't get elsewhere! Like Starr's pimento and cheese. They make it just like I do if I make homemade. So why not roll up and purchase premade when I can, and get a few other things I like as well there that I can't get elsewhere. The fact of the matter is I'm not a total loyalist at any particular store. But I still adore Harris Teeter although here in Virginia, it's now part of Kroger Corperation. read more

Brand new store and no NFC payments such as Apple Pay or similar payment options this is a shame... Store doors were open at 2pm, customers could walk in but not buy anything.. Store is slightly remodeled but not a huge improvement over the previous Farm Fresh which did allow Apple Pay and NFC payments. read more

Popped in for some chicken wings. When this place was a farm fresh the wings here were the bomb. Not at all now. The wings were disgustingly dried out excuses for food. I am shocked that anyone took any of these at all. I am sure they are sorry by now. The seasonings were simply dumped on the wings in the buffet steamers. The buffet pans were a mess. I asked the guy behind the glass and there was no care or remorse for the terrible state of the poultry offerings. The mac and cheese was a crusty light and dark blob of ugh. I took some snaps before leaving to go elsewhere. Normally HT is a higher end store, a real go to for quality... I was taken aback and will never return to this location again! My first visit to ht in the neighborhood. I came in for 3 items and left with $50 worth of groceries. Selection was good. All Items I needed were In stock. Employees on floor were helpful. Only issue was at checkout. I was overcharged on an item and the cashier scanned an item twice by mistake. Customer service made it right but I hate having to make sure my order was rung correctly. at least in self Checkout I get to screw it up all on my own. read more

Among all of the Harris Teeter locations in Virginia Beach, this is my favorite. I was ecstatic when it opened because it's close to where I live. While I usually have a list, I spend entirely too much time browsing each aisle for new things to try. I especially love when there are Boar's Head samples at the deli. The staff at this location are unmatched. Everyone is so friendly. I truly appreciate the people at the meat and seafood counters who answer all of my questions about sizing and cooking. Wrapping the meat and seafood in butcher's paper is also a nice touch, compared to plastic wrap. While many grocery stores have cutback on cashiers, this Harris Teeter location still has several registers with people who will ring up and bag your items. It may sound archaic but I hate self-check out. Even on days when the store is packed, I grab a Starbucks, make my way around the store and patiently wait in line. read more

This place is a joke. Walked in expecting some grand change and ....... guess what? It is the exact same store as before. It is Farm Fresh with a new name. Why was it even closed for so long? I had bought a visa gift card a while back from Harris teeter, and I had added 75 dollars to it, but when it came to using it, it was declined on everything I used it on. As most Great Neck residents, I was thrilled when Harris Teeter opened after many months without our wonderful Farm Fresh. I've really tried to give them a chance, but today after bringing home an over cooked rotisserie chicken (plastic covers were cloudy so I couldn't see the chicken's condition) I'm done. The deli is staffed with inexperienced people. The butcher does not stock items that other Harris Teeter's do. The cashier aisles are poorly staffed and the self service checkout is crowded due to poor design. I'll be shopping at the Harris Teeter on Virginia Beach Blvd from now on. read more

I'm giving this location 5 stars because it still has a feel of the old store we loved. Each and every employee I came in contact was courteous of the customers and make eye contact as if they are willing to help you whenever you need ,compared to some stores that just look at the floor as you pass to avoid any extra hassle . The lady working the deli was extremely friendly and made me a HUGE I mean huge sub. As I was leaving I was asking her about the drinks that come with the combo and a manager walking by heard me and walked me over to the drinks . I appreciate when a store associate walks people to what they're looking for instead of pointing it's very polite . Overall I love the stores atmosphere and customer service but it is priced a bit higher compared to other local grocery stores. I will only be coming back for lunch specials or any other specials that are a good deal as advertised. read more
