I have always liked Harris Teeter. Used the one on Raeford rd in Fayetteville for years. This one is in Midtown in Raleigh and I love the parking, so convenient. The hot dinner bar could have used some freshing up, had sat there for awhile and it was about 6:00 when I was there. read more

This is a newly built Harris Teeter in the North Hills shopping complex. I think Harris Teeter overcharges for many of the items. But, I guess you are paying for the fancy decorations. They do have good cuts of meat, which is the only reason why I buy stuff from there, as everything else seems to be cheaper at Kroger, or Walmart. One thing is, Harris Teeter was doign Triple Coupons up to $0.99 this week, so that helps with the price. You might like the design of this Harris Teeter, as it is two stories. You heard me right, two stories. So how do you get to the second floor you might wonder, well, there is an elevator for you to take your cart up and down. Just don't forget something while you were on the top floor, and then need to go back and get it. The staff is very friendly at Harris Teeter, and always in a good mood when I go there. Going to Wegmans and Whole foods from now on. This place is not good. Poor customer service! I was there at this Harris today and saw two customers (without masks by the way) buying cigarettes, by breaking the line (coming from the opposite direction) to pay at the self checkout kiosks while we waited in line. One customer as I was about to start scanning jumped in front of me assisted by an associate Ashlee to scan her cigarettes. When I requested for the manager 3 times she said he's busy and I got to come back. Finally I called the store from outside and the manager Phil picked up and then I went in to talk to him. He stood right there with Ashlee to speak to me. He said he can't control customers here they feel they are entitled. What ??? It wasn't the customers it was his associates leading them into a chaotic way of jumping the line and then being rude if someone pointed it out. read more

I love the location of this Harris Teeter! Nestled in the amazing North Hills area, a "hidden" grocery store! My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt House Hotel (about a 1 min walk) and being able to stop into a grocery store to get some snacks and drinks for our room was PERFECT! This grocery store has so much potential but falls short every single time- I leave there pissed because I've wasted time as the shelves are never stocked and whoever handles inventory needs to learn how it works. Very rarely should an item be out of stock. And it is not the supply chain because I can go to the other Harris Teeters within a few miles and they have everything. This is my local Harris Teeter and I am here pretty much every week. Parking is easy in the garage, and I have yet to have a problem with that. I like the way this location is setup, although I wouldn't mind the meat area being a bit closer to the entrance. I feel like they cater to the business lunch crowd here which is a smart move. They have a way upgraded hot bar than what you would normally see at an HT as well as a pizza oven and sushi bar. Every time I go in someone is making fresh sushi. My husband works in the Captrust building and gets lunch here at least twice a week. As far as the grocery shopping bit goes, I like their produce section. It's not cramped and everything I've gotten has been fresh. Everything else is pretty much your standard grocery store except a few things are located upstairs. I only head up there if I need cleaning supplies, otherwise all your food and basic grocery store needs are located downstairs. The elevator is quick so I have never really had an issue getting upstairs quickly. They always have plenty of cashiers at checkout so the wait is never too long. read more

Beautiful store! I wish we had one where we live! Huge deli counter that serves boars head meats and cheeses. The only thing I did like about the deli is that if you want them to make a sandwich other than their posted pre-sliced meat and cheeses for subs you have to purchase the meat and cheeses first and then bring them back in the store for them to make the sandwich and then get charged again for the price of the whole sandwich . Nice soup, salad and pizza bars. Great selection of beer, wine, and a full pharmacy in the upstairs. read more

Pretty pleased with the huge layout & plenty of products. The location is also a plus, along with plenty of parking. It's Harris Teeter & prices are moderate; however, sales, promos & VIC card savings always come along, so you can save some money with those offers. The Asian bar & wide variety on the salad bar adds a nice touch. Produce, meat, deli, & seafood departments all offered fresh items. I didn't have any employee interaction, so I can't comment on this aspect, but I did see plenty employee presence. read more

Harris-Teeter has sent out another batch of $20 off a $50 order coupons to homes in my area, so I made another grocery shopping trip to this location. Since my last visit, H-T has wisely chosen to listen to the shoppers who were not happy about certain items being on the 2nd floor. Breakfast foods, cooking staples (flour, oil) have been moved downstairs and the wines and floral departments are now on the 2nd floor with paper goods, pet food, and health and beauty items. I think the placement of these items is still a work in progress. During my first visit I noticed how neatly and well arranged all of the product placements were done. Now some of the product categories appear to be more haphazard and not as well placed as my original trip. I am sure this will be addressed soon. I still like the H-T specialty departments and lots of organic, natural, and meatless alternative products that are stocked. What I still don't like is that I can get most of the basic items considerably less cost at Food Lion. While the $20 coupon is a great incentive to shop here, I still find myself spending more than I would in a normal trip to Food Lion. As I said in the first review, I will consider this location when looking for some specialty items, but it will not be my regular grocery store. read more

The people working here clearly do not care about their customers. The pharmacy staff pressured me into accepting the wrong price for my medication on more than one occasion. The staff doesn't seem to want to be there and there's usually something wrong with the lighting. read more

Some of these checkout people remain after multiple reports of misconduct by numerous people. They have literally laughed when I've come through checkout with a white cane or my service animals/ guide dog - not emotional support. Real deal. I ask what the total is and they make gestures or I say I can't read that and I am gestured again, "it is right in front of your face". Has the staff not been trained? Just because you do not comprehend my physical, not mental, disabilities, is it up to you decide? Then, they laugh. They pack pick ups right in front of the main door in no parking zones. I am giving one star only because the cheese and meat departments are stellar. They always help and do not come across as bothThe front desk is iffy as are the cashiers. There are two cashiers that stand out. But, that is their personality, not store policy. Store policy seems to be that they can't control anything- inside or out. That is incorrect. Update: Again Harris Teeter allows individuals to park in no parking to load pre preferred groceries when there are designated spots available. "Not our problem" said the manager, laughing it off while the assistant manager called my white cane a "walking stick". How about some training for your employees? Absolutely love harris teeter. It's one of my go-to stores, especially for their salad bar! They are the only one that I know of in the Raleigh area that serves turkey dices. I love the Harris Teeter in North Hills it's perfect for rainy days such as today. Luckily we always get a park in the same spot because it's not to far from the door. I am most grateful because I didn't get rained on. I have 2 Harris Teeter's near my mom is this is my choice when it's raining. The store is always well organized and they ALWAYS have enough staff. One time I visited the store and they didn't have water and they sold me water for the price of store brand water which was great because I didn't want to pay regular price for the water they had. They managers are always very helpful as well; I also like the customer service they always are very attentive and make sure that I have everything that I need. The store is 2 levels which is so cool. The wine + personal care + pharmacy is upstairs which makes you feel like you are in a different store. The wine section is very organized as well. The would say the store is decently priced. I feel like it's a between Kroger and Lowe's Food. They recently upgraded the vegetable + fruit section and closed off the salad which I thought was a great feature. Ps, if you want long stem beautiful roses they are at Harris Teeter! I only shop here for a quick run...only then it's if I absolutely have to. The two story concept is nice, but ultimately novelistic without any tangible functionality. My major complaint here is that the produce section is disproportionately large for the store. I've found they often have a high spoilage rate for their produce, especially when you visit in between shipments. I often buy two of all produce, as roughly 40% is bad once I cut into it (example: spaghetti squash or Peppers). read more

First time in this grocery store but it won't be the last. When I arrived my basket had pollen all over it and one of the store employees came over to clean it off. It made the start of my shopping experience wonderful. The store has an interesting layout but that only motivated me to walk every single inch of the store. The best part is they have all of my specialty items that I typically get from whole foods. This will save me travel time since I can walk to Harris teeter versus driving a few miles down the road to whole foods. The store was well lit and clean. Those are "must haves" for me. This one location that needs rethinking. First, many of the shoppers here are young professionals, who don't load up a giant cart doing the weekly family of six shopping. With that in mind, the mini-carts like Food Lion or the hand-basket carts like Fresh Market make so much more sense than struggling with giant carts in the elevator. This store is obviously a pilot for H-T and still in the tuning/tweaking stage, as they venture into the 'urban' marketplace. As for parking, its a plus to be under a covered roof, but getting to/from the store is an adventure. The downside is, that sharing the building elevator is a pain. H-T would do better to have an entrance on the second floor, and let you descend into the store directly to do your shopping. Its technically do-able, and would avoid the 'stench' box. I might even buy flowers or wine on the way out to the car. I agree with the other reviews; H-T needs to quickly address the 'access' problems to their store, and get over themselves, as we're just not as easily wowed by the place as your Matthew's marketing folks might lead to believe. The nicest Harris Teeter in the area that I've been to. It even has two floors (the second floor is where you will find all the wine and beer - that also has TVs and seats). This Harris Teeter will have everything you need while food shopping for the week. It's organized well and is super clean. The produce is fresh and there's plenty of fruit and vegetable options. Also the salad and Asian bars are great. I like to stock up on vegetables from the salad bar because these are fresh and smaller portions that I'll actually finish. There's a large frozen section and also plenty of meat to choose from. The fish always looks pretty fresh here which is sometimes hard to find at the grocery store. There's usually some good deals at Harris teeter and a lot of items are typically on some sort of sale so be on the look out for this. If you're looking for a great market to do your food shopping that's not as expensive as a Whole Foods but still has good produce, you should definitely come to this location. read more

Grocery shoppers beware: I have just had the most frustrating and annoying experience with Harris Teeter on St. Albans St. in Raleigh. I have spent three hours (literally) trying to resolve the issue between this Harris Teeter and InstaCart, both of whom blame the other for the problem and both claim they cannot fix it because they can't access the order. I ordered my groceries on this Harris Teeter's website and paid extra to have them delivered. I received an email from Harris Teeter saying that the order had been delivered to my home; however, it is now four hours later and there is no sign of my groceries which were to be delivered by InstaCart which has a contract with HT for these deliveries. As I said, both companies blame the other and neither can tell me why they weren't delivered; where they are; or who was to deliver them. I have requested a refund; however, again, they both say that the other is responsible for the refund; though, it has been supposedly processed (we'll see). In addition, Harris Teeter's "improved" web site is a disaster. You can only add groceries to a "list" but you have no way of transferring the list to your cart. When called, they tell you they are working on it and the new site was just created in March--WOW--someone needs to get fired if they can't figure it out in five months. Worse customer service I have ever experienced from this HT on St Alban's, and I have been shopping solely at some HT since they arrived in Raleigh. I am searching for a new grocery store that also has home delivery. read more

The parking structure, the tv's on the second floor and store location are pretty cool. That's about it. The prices are a bit higher. The deli guy told me that their sliced to order meats and cheese are $1 higher on average. The selection was smaller than most HT's. The staff was friendly, but not HT staff friendly. On a Sunday, the store seemed quiet. I would assume they cater to the pricey apartments right around North Hills. As like all HT's they double coupons up to and including $.99. When they super double, they double coupons up to and including $1.99. Don't forget to join their e-Vic. They have some great deals. read more

Pros: Very clean and neat inside. Very well lit and aisles/shelves are always organized. This store never seems busy and relatively easy to get in and out. Cons: Due to being located in the lower end of the building, the store is a little small. Selection is far less than your typical Harris Teeter and can be quite confusing finding what you want. From the bottom floor it seems that the second floor is nothing but wine, but its actually where you'll find all of your hygiene/cleaning and personal items. All and all, its a good store to run in and out, just expect item selection to be a little scarce. read more

This is a great new Harris Teeter! I've been coming here quite often and have had a good experience each time. The only peculiar thing about it is the second floor. It's the only grocery store I've ever been to that has a second floor. There is one elevator to get up there and it can only fit about two carts and a few people at one time. You may have to wait to get up there, but it's not like a line is going out the door to get upstairs. It just takes a lil getting used to. Regardless, I think it's a great Harris Teeter! read more

Last night (5/14/11) I visited the Harris Teeter for the first time at North Hills. It's a beautiful store inside and out, but I have to say I was truly dissappointed by the experience. I use to live in the apartments at Alexan North Hills which was beside the old Harris Teeter and remember fondly about how clean the store always was. Although the interior of the new store was amazingly beautiful, the entrance was disgusting. I parked on the second floor and took the elevator down to the grocer. It smelled like dog and dog urine, yuck! I was going to purchase food and was turned off immediately. Down at the entrance to the store, it looked like they hadn't cleaned the entry in months. There was trash everywhere, it was extremely dirty. Needless to say, I popped in, purchased a bottle of wine and went about my way. There was nothing special about this experience! read more

My poor rating goes specifically toward the deli department. The associates working the pizza and sub counters clearly do not want to be there and it shows. Between the standoffish attitudes to the way they put the food together shows that they don't care. I wasn't expecting 5-star dining from a deli counter, but the fact that I I ended up with a sandwich that I had to remake in order to make it edible is unacceptable. Someone needs to remind those people that they are making someones meal and that it shouldn't look like it was stepped on when they are done with it. read more

I was in the Harris Teeter over near North Hills (120-100 St. Alban's Road in Raleigh, NC) today (Wednesday, July 26, 2017) and I was there for the main purpose of buying ICE CREAM for a party/get together... Okay, no problem right, no wrong I was issued a Harris Teeter RAIN CHECK (an original rain check not a copy WITH NO EXPIRATION DATE) when I was in there over a couple months ago and It was approved by MW (who ever that guy is). I was told today when I got ready to check out and presented the cashier my RAIN CHECK that they no longer accepted the RAIN CHECK like I had and that they had gone to a NEW KIND OF RAIN CHECK (that was good for long 60 days). I then asked to speak to someone in management and they were useless, not helpful in any way but THEY WERE RUDE... When I got home I called the main phone number for Harris Teeter and talked to Tammy and explained the situation to her she was a little helpful but not much... So I am still without my ICE CREAM, not a happy customer and will not be going to any HARRIS TEETER where I was averaging spending about $300.00 per month...
