New beer!

I have always liked Harris Teeter. Used the one on Raeford rd in Fayetteville for years. This one is in Midtown in Raleigh and I love the parking, so convenient. The hot dinner bar could have used some freshing up, had sat there for awhile and it was about 6:00 when I was there.

This is a newly built Harris Teeter in the North Hills shopping complex. I think Harris Teeter overcharges for many of the items. But, I guess you are paying for the fancy decorations. They do have good cuts of meat, which is the only reason why I buy stuff from there, as everything else seems to be cheaper at Kroger, or Walmart. One thing is, Harris Teeter was doign Triple Coupons up to $0.99 this week, so that helps with the price. You might like the design of this Harris Teeter, as it is two stories. You heard me right, two stories. So how do you get to the second floor you might wonder, well, there is an elevator for you to take your cart up and down. Just don't forget something while you were on the top floor, and then need to go back and get it. The staff is very friendly at Harris Teeter, and always in a good mood when I go there. The meat is also always very fresh.

Absolutely love harris teeter. It's one of my go-to stores, especially for their salad bar! They are the only one that I know of in the Raleigh area that serves turkey dices. The other ones; Tryon, Olde Raleigh Village...they don't. Also digging the two floors as well. It's very nice and clean. Check it out.

ABC Stores Wake County

Disclaimer: This was my first EVER visit to an ABC Store in NC…read more- So I can't say for sure if it's "As good as it' get's" but it's as good as I've gotten! So contrary to what you might be thinking, I came here to buy alcohol to eat- not drink. I woke up with the sudden urge to make Banana's Foster and went down to Trader Joes for ingredients. I was reminded of the funky NC alcohol laws (CA Trader Joe's sell wine, beer and hard liquor-FYI they even have their own generic brand of vodkas and rums!). So I quickly Googled the nearest ABC store to home and wham- I ended up here! I didn't want to invest in an entire bottle of rum (especially since the recipe called for only a few tbsp) so I bought a few of the tiny airplane bottles. They seemed to have a pretty wide selection and fair prices. The ladies at the front counter told me that there was another ABC store nearby, but that location was small and served you from behind a counter. These same ladies also helped me pick the right brand of rum for my recipe (which I was thankful for since rum ain't my poison). For all of these reason's I will return! Well, all of these reason's and the simple fact that this is the only place I CAN come to buy alcohol. North Carolina kinda has me by the balls on this one.

There isn't much to like about this ABC location…read more Like most ABCs, this one is in a strip mall. But it's probably one of the smallest and most crowded strip malls in Raleigh. Good luck finding a parking space on a Saturday afternoon. Also, good luck working your way around the Papa John's delivery drivers on the way out. By the way, much love to all of the Papa John's drivers - you guys are awesome and thanks for all the pizza. The selection is one of the worst I've seen. I can get most of my favorites (Tito's, Tanqueray, Bulleit), but I always have a hard time finding anything out of the ordinary. On my last visit, the store was operating two checkout lanes, and then switched to just one as soon as 10 people needed to check out. I didn't quite understand that strategy. The Cameron Village store is much nicer.

While I did not check out the live bait selection this time, the wine portion was fantastic. Situated a stones throw off of 540 in Raleigh, this store is super convenient if you are driving through as I am often doing from the Triad to the Eastern part of the state. I had heard of Taylor's from a podcast, and finally made it into the store. The state was super friendly and was excited to be able to help me out with a few suggestions for a party I was going to! Just a great selection of things that are unique and the gentleman helping me knew about multiple bottles he showed me. Certainly go in and have a conversation with them and you may come out with something new you really enjoy! I will be returning when I am traveling 540 and I would be at Taylor's constantly if I lived in the area!!

They carry a surprisingly wide variety of bottles , from everyday favorites to special-occasion finds and the staff is always happy to help with recommendations. The store is clean, well organized, and you can really tell they care about making customers feel welcome. It's rare to find a shop that combines convenience with quality, but this spot does exactly that. Whether I'm grabbing gas, a snack, or a great bottle of wine for dinner, it's always a five-star experience. Highly recommend stopping by!
