Ok all of the people rating this place so highly are either on crack or have never bought fresh produce here. The kale is rubbery and wilted. The broccoli is rubbery. The tomatos and avocados are squishy and close to spoiling. All this while paying MORE than you would at whole foods. WTF??? This place is a complete rip off. This was my first time at this Harris Teeter and I can say am huge fan. There is underground parking which was very easy to find a spot. I love that Harris Teeter provides fruit samples. I moved away from teeter to the land of only Safeway and Giant. Whole foods and trader joes are good for specific things but not the whole shopping trip. That's why I miss teeter the most, despite their slightly higher prices. This location is large and does have enough parking, but make sure to look for the garage. It is kind of weirdly set up, with the produce set away from everything else and the lines in the middle. However, thy have everything you want and good prices if you search out the MVP deals. read more

What is this Teeter you speak of? A friend of mine lives in the Tysons Corner area of the big VA, and being the all-consuming boarder in her house for a week, we drove on over to Harris Teeter - a grocery store I had never heard of. Drove into the underground garage and went up the escalator. I watched with my eyes wide in amazement as people went down the escalators, their shopping carts did too, in their OWN separate escalator. Fannntastic. Everyone in the store was super friendly to the two girls on an impromptu shopping spree at 1 am and I felt completely safe in the well-lit store and garage. We popped up to Teeter's level and right into the Fruits & Veggies section. Lots of variety - some unusual fruits too. Bonus points to you Harris. We picked up some breads - super fresh - some had the option to bake them ourselves - no thank you, we be lazy... but there it was, the option. We picked up a couple more things along the way - prices didn't seem too outlandish... and then headed over to the checkout section. On the way there, we passed the best looking wine-collection i have ever seen in a grocery store. It was like Napa Valley had sent a lil' sliver of love to Harris Tweeter - the display area was lovely and full of patrons. Color me impressed. Harris Teeter, come to NY please. I'm here sometimes three times a day....lord have I been waiting for a decent grocery store to come up in this part of Tysons Corner. Prior to this we had to trek to the Giant in Mclean or Whole Foods in Falls Church. Depending on the traffic in Tysons that can sometimes take 20 minutes. Best part about this place is the friendly service. The folks here seem to genuinely care about making their customers happy. Second best thing....can you say free tasters! Well say it again cause this place does not disappoint. The have free tasters up the yin yang here from cheese that is twenty bucks a pound to the bread that is always baked fresh. Yep...try as much as you want...they don't stop you! I've come here sometimes for lunch and filled up on the free tasters and walk out the door with a soda. Now that's a bargain. Can you say bargain? Ok...awesome! Have to admit though that I'm getting tired of tasting the same four soups time and time again. Third best thing is the Sbux they have with FREE wifi. Bladow. This place is a Godsend for me. And for a few reasons... I just started a new job in McLean and so the hunt for good lunch venues began. Normally you don't look to a grocery store for lunch options (unless you're cooking) but this place has it all. Going off the recommendations of family and friends, I headed over for lunch today with my cousin and I have to say I was impressed. It's close to work, easily accessible, free parking in the garage (great for rainy days like today!) and the place is HUGE! Which is uncharacteristic for a Harris Teeter. I went for the sub aisle as my cousin recommended it as a good starting off point. You can't beat the prices and the freshness of these subs. I have to admit I was a little concerned at first because I ordered the half-sub special of the day. When the lady behind the counter began making my sub, I immediately thought "this won't be big enough" (I'm an eater...) and started looking at the fresh sushi available as my "second course". The sushi wasn't necessary. By the time she was done I can honestly say it was a filling and satisfying sub. I got the club, but it seems to me you could get just about anything and be happy with it. I will definitely be trying other selections. The sushi was fresh, I could tell just by looking at it. And it seemed to me they also make it to order if you like, but I'm not sure. I swear I heard someone order though... The store in and of itself is big, clean, bright...everything you want in a grocer. The produce and meat sections looked phenomenal. That's where my excitement kicked in. This is going to be my new grocer. The closest Harris Teeter/Whole Foods to me is in Arlington, and I live in Falls Church. This is definitely going to be where I stop on my way home for groceries. Customer service: exceptional. I know the Starbucks isn't "part" of Harris Teeter, but the guy working the counter was class. I clumsily spilled a bit of my espresso while grabbing it and he immediately took it from me, started a new one, handed me a towel, told me NOT to clean the counter and asked if I would like him to go with me to the sushi counter to get a new platter as part of the espresso landed on the container. (I did not accept that offer as the sushi was fine and it was my own stupid fault!) But if the customer service at the Starbucks is any representation of the whole store - this place understands what service means. Aside from the subs, it looked like this place had TONS to choose from. Salad bars, hot bars, Asian bars, Pizza bars... you name it. One stop shop as far as I'm concerned. I used to live within walking distance of this Harris Teeter, and what a time! This is a great Teeter. I like the parking garage (it can get real crowded right after work, around 5-6. Try to park on the second lower level to avoid potential accidents/find more spots). I like how there's a Starbucks. I like how there's outside seating. I like how I used to work right next to it, but I digress.. I can't seem to find many faults with this Teeter. I agree with many reviewers - you find more 'young professionals' here due to its location in the heart of Tysons Corner and the workplace. Honestly, the prices can be better, but this place is open 24/7, and is literally a few minutes (walking!) from where I live. So, it's ridiculously convenient. I haven't been to another grocery store in a very long time. I've been spoiled. Plus, if you buy when things are on sale, it's not so bad. They sometimes have BOGO Thomas bagels for sale, BOGO meat, etc. I like the salad bar and dinner bar areas, though the food can get very repetitive. Sushi's ok. Kind of pricey for what it is - they don't label the sushi with what fish is in it. Usually they're labeled "Chef's Special" or something like that, so I have come home before with imitation crab when I thought it was fish. So just be mindful! One thing I have noticed though, is that they seem to restructure the aisles a bit, so while I remember cake mixes to be in one aisle, they're now in a different place. It can be confusing. But I come here every time I'm missing an ingredient for a recipe, for large grocery hauls, beer, and whatnot. Don't come around lunch rush hour, or after work - I'd say around 4:30-6, but don't quote me on that. The lines are so long around then. Not all Harris Teeters are created equal! While a majority of HT's are plagued with little children running wild, behind the wheel of their little "customer in training" carts, this HT's caters more to the lunch-seeking 20-/ 30-something office drones in the Tysons area. This HT's is in close proximity to my office so it makes for a good locale for a quick lunch (sushi/ hot bar/ salad bar/ anything your hear desires because, well, it's a grocery store). What's more, is that they have an in-store Starbucks so you can get your caffeine fix, too. If you need to do some mid-work day grocery shopping, you can do that there, too (obviously). I've noticed that the HT workers seem more chipper and friendly at this one-- I'm a big fan of the cheese shop-- they cheese mongers are always quick to suggest new, tasty cheeses and they usually have samples on deck. Wow what can I say, AMAZING STORE. I have always loved Harris Teeter, but living in McLean its never been convenient to get to one for every day shopping. Yes there is one in Reston and one in Arlington, but who wnats to drive in traffic to a grocery and buy frozen stuff to have it half melted by the time you get home. The store looks small from the outside, parking is amazing. I was not sure if I would like parking in a parking garage, but its very easy and with three parking levels you can usually get a close space next to the elevator. The store is not huge by any means, but for the size, HT did an amazing job with the layout. Love the prepared foods section. Does not have a huge meet selection but its admirable and can get what I am looking for. The grocery section of the store is laid out great. Its easy to navigate the isles, and it has everything that I look for in a grocery store, including some items that only HT carries ( Home Run Pizza, which is a chicago pizza is wonderful! ) The prices for the stuff are great, great sales, double coupons. We have been shopping here for all our shopping needs since we first shopped 4 weeks ago. And right now, if you go there and pick up the sales flyer you get $10 off a purchase of $40 or more. We never have seen it very busy, hope more people find out about this place to keep it here. Its sorta an odd location for a grocery store, but with condos and apartments galore over in this area. I love this store! I would live here if I could. From the isle placement to the selection...this is as good as it gets! The staff there is very helpful and they try to help you no matter what - even if you are in the self check out line. To me, however, their best attribute is the Pharmacy. I guess its company policy to have prescriptions out and ready within 15 minutes but most times they get it out in less! They also remind you when it is time to refill. Great service!! read more

Went to this HT for the first time last weekend. Decent selection, clean, but sweet baby J the cashier was rude and slow. Each and every item (and I had a full cart) was picked up and every side was examined for the bar code. I had like twenty yogurts, all the same brand, and she treated each one as a special unique mystery about where the bar code was located. She looked baffled by every type of produce, and would sigh with impatience and ask me what it was. It's a cantaloupe. Just a cantaloupe. And that's a lemon. Both of the yellow fruits sharing a produce bag are lemons. There are two lemons. It would've been ok for her to be slow if she hadn't seem so aggrieved by all of it, as though she thought she was working at Tiffany's and then stupid me asked her to ring up groceries. It took no less than 20 minutes for her to ring me up and she commented, with obvious irritation, "Boy you have a lot of stuff" (sigh, eye roll). This has been my grocery store for two years, and while I'd never heard of a HT before living on the East Coast, I'm now fiercely loyal to the brand for all my grocery couponing needs. Yes, coupons! In Tyson's Corner! Harris Teeter has great sales, sent out weekly on Wednesdays via email, on top of eVIC unadvertised sales over the weekend, and topped off with the occasional Super Double or Super Triple coupon weeks, and you have got one happy moderate couponer. My coupon binder has become somewhat of a legend among the employees, and we have our favorite managers (Ali!) and not-so-favorite ones as well that give us flack about following their very own coupon policy. The fact that they have been moving stock around so much lately in the refrigerated section that each time we go in we have to ask someone where to find things we buy every time docks them half a star. The other deduction? Produce is costly and often not fresh. The Customer Service desk is also usually willing to oblige us for a roll or two of quarters so that we can do our laundry after Sunday Grocery Shoppping. Pro Tip: Park on P2 and take the elevator up-- it's much less crowded! (Well, I guess now I'm going to have to park on P3 now that the cat's out of the bag.) read more

This place is great! The customer service alone will convince you to shop here. I am a big fan of customer service. I would rather pay a little more and get people to treat you with respect. Although I would not do my regular grocery shop here, this place has great bargains. Especially on sea food. For example, their last sea food special was a jumbo bag of crabs for $4.95 a lb. How great is that???!!!!! Living right next to the Harris Teeter, this place is hugely convenient. Not to mention it's open 24/7! Great for those nights coming home sloshed and hungry! Their hot bar is ok. I feel sometimes their food is a little bland but then again, I am used to really spicy food. So take it for what its worth. This Harris teeter looks as if it would be clean up to date and managed correctly. INCORRECT, WRONG, STAY AWAY. Go to Whole Foods, go to Walmart. This Harris Teeter has let me down multiple times since moving to tysons. Written pineapples, expired orange juice. Salsa that expires 5 days since the day it's purchased. A head of ice burg lettuce written inside. Do not buy anything here. You will be wasting your time. This is our neighborhood grocery store and we come here whenever we need western groceries. The veggies are usually a bit more expensive but the convenience pays off. My wife is a couponer and coupled with their sales and vic card rewards, you can save a lot. The veggies and fruits are mostly fresh and the cooked food area is well kept. It's more than likely that those who complain about the horrible produce just didn't choose and check your food before you put it into your basket. This is one of the better Harris teeters in the area, but definitely not one of the better groceries. I come here when I'm not looking for anything in particular and/or when I don't want to go far. You can find just about anything you want as long as you're not looking for for a particular brand. But be ready to shell out more here for lesser quality hoods than at other area groceries. The layout of the store is nice and they usually have pretty decent sample selection (see bread, fruit and cheese... Yum!). Maybe this is where their horrendous markups come into play? They have a decent organic fruit section but lack specialty items in their regular grocery. For example they have no organic sausages or pre-packaged meats. They often have seafood on sale but beware on the pre-packaged items because the sale items are usually on sale. Additionally, they have a Starbucks but this isn't worth the stop unless you really want coffee, the line is usually long, they've messed up my order on more times than I can count, the cashiers are rather unfriendly and they will without fail charge you $. 60 for a splash of soy milk as creamer. The lines in the grocery itself are always short. And the cashiers are usually very friendly. read more

This has been my corner grocery store for almost a year now. It's sufficient for the basics, and I will probably continue to go here because I can walk to it from my home--something that I love to do and helps keep me from buying excess stuff I don't need, knowing I'll have to carry it all back with me. But this location has issues and I really wouldn't recommend it for anyone who drives to the store. The store is small and so the selection is pretty limited. If you want something even remotely uncommon, you'll have to go somewhere else. The produce section is small and contains a lot of items on the verge of going bad. I always check the use-by dates here because there is a lot of stuff they are trying to move off the shelves that is about to expire. Another issue is that a ton of products are put on the shelf even after they've been accidentally slashed open with a boxcutter when the stockers were unpacking them. I usually double check my items, but today I didn't notice a bag of granola I had bought was cut open until I got home. This meant another round-trip walk to the store and an exchange with an apathetic customer service person. read more

This could possibly be the worst grocery store I've visited in Fairfax. I have not yet shopped there once without coming home with at least one rotten fresh food item. Thankfully on the occasions when I've had the time and energy to save the receipt and go back in with the rotten produce they have reimbursed me for the cost, but really the place is never well stocked in the produced aisles. The food in the hot and cold food bars looks a half day old always! I've brought home fish from the seafood market twice that tasted old and foul. Today I visited the store at 4:30pm (on a Monday) and decided to buy frozen vegetables rather than fresh because so many of the items looked old, soft or brown. Terrible. The only reason this grocery store does the business that it does is so many people live and work right next to it without any other nearby shopping options that are easily accessible. Definitely one of the nicer Harry Teets that I've been to. It's expansive, has a huge variety, and is 24 hours to boot. Oh, and they have a parking garage with an escalator. Makes me want to go back to Tysons living...until I see the traffic. The store is a little counterintuitive for the grocery store model and reminds me more of a convoluded mom and pop store where the aisles aren't laid out in a geometric fashion. Granted, it doesn't take away from what they have to offer but it can take a bit to get used to if you're used to the McDonald's style grocery store where everything is square starting wtih the deli aisles to your right and moving off to the ice cream section last. Oh - and they sell Gold Cup tickets (for those interested next year). Big bonus. read more

Harris Teeter - how I love thee! Their hot bar deals alone are good enough to keep me coming by every week - like $8.99 lobster rolls! Yes, that's right, lobstah rolls for half the cost of those food trucks, and with twice the meat! I am not joking .. I would show you the pictures, but alas, I end up devouring it too fast every time. But take my word for it - it's deeeliciouss! They are also super well organized and efficient - which makes running quick errands a breeze. Forgot my fruits and snacks at home? No worries, I can run over to HT and get enough to last me the work week at an affordable price point, with no hassle. My other favorite of theirs is the bakery - not only do they have delicious pre-made options, but their cakes are super moist with meltinyourmouth buttercream, and the ordering process is easy (phone, online or in person). Out of all of the Harris Teeter that I've been to, this has got to be my favorite.. The coolest elevator for the shopping carts + this place is EXTREMELY clean! You walk in and I can actually try some of the multitude of samples they are providing because I trust they're fresh!!! But best thing ever? their sandwich bars...$2.99 12 inch subs on fridays??? and deals on their sandwiches everyday? their pizzas? fresh deli meats? Sushi? YUM! Although this harris teeter may be a little bit smaller than other places, its much more "classy" as in the end, it is a part of some very expensive condos. There aren't cameras and 5 workers within every 10 sq. ft like the harris teeters in arlington which have 30000 cameras in every sq ft! It just makes you feel like you're a criminal the second you walk in! it's just a cleaner, more awesome place to go...so please do go. just don' t go on fridays during lunchtime to get a sandwich so I wont have to wait behind you to get my fried chicken cutlet sandwich! read more

Finally a grocery store in Tysons---I'll be able to make it back home with ice cream this summer! (had trouble making it back before melting on some hot days b/c of traffic!). Trust me when I say this is one of the worst Harris Teeter stores around. Some of the cashiers' are very nice but there is one that works at Customer Service named Brandy that belongs in the back and not working with customers'. She is rude, sarcastic and argumentative. She is not helpful and one of the nastiest people I have ever dealt with at this store. This is the second time dealing with her with the same outcome. As others have mentioned, there is a problem with expired food as well. It is just not worth going back to this store to deal with this but I guess if you lived within walking distance it is too convenient not to. Everything here is going to cost more than what you'd find at Giant or Safeway. But that doesn't matter. Despite being smaller than the average grocery store, they have a wide selection of fruits and vegetables. That doesn't matter either. Their hot and cold food bars look pretty good. Unimportant. No, Harris Teeter is amazing because they are the ONLY grocery store I have ever found on the west and east coast that carry Peter Pan Whipped Peanut Butter, which btw, is the Processed Food industry's greatest contribution to humanity. I love Harris Teeter stores in general. I happened to stop here at 1:30 am after driving for Uber and needing groceries for the week. It was a surreal experience being the only customer in the store. Though hungry at that hour, and not able to find any hot food items to eat. But grocery shopping was quick and easy to complete without anyone in my way. It was odd finding half the lighting off in the store, but I guess they weren't expecting many people at that hour. Even frozen food cases were somewhat dark, but the lights came on in them as I opened the doors to get items out. This was nice having a garage below and the ability to take a cart down the escalator. Prices were decent. I spent more than I was expecting but needed meat and seafood and that is generally more anyway. Great store that I will visit on occasion, hopefully at a time when I can try some of their hot food and sushi. read more

Great HT. Staff is somewhat helpful, the place is clean and well laid-out. The hot-foods and salad bar choices are actually not bad. The produce and meats/seafood and deli are all pretty good. I actually like their huge paninis from the deli for like $6 - a good deal for a quick bite if you're on the go. The name Harris Teeter sounds funny but this market is bright, clean, spacious and the produces that I saw were fresh. Of course, it's on the pricier side. This Harris Teeter is below the luxury condos/apartments in McLean that were built in 2008. They have an underground parking and the residents can also walk indoors to get to this grocery shop. read more

The bakery is nice, everything in the glass case is baked on premises early morning and tossed out if it didn't sell before the next morning. Good Seafood and Butcher section. This was my grocery store. As I sit here having finally gotten over the nausea caused by this morning's HT breakfast bar breakfast, I'm thinking never again. This used to be a fantastic grocery store, now it appears that they're understaffed and the selection is non-existent. What happened? Love the Teeter! Nothing beats great customer service. Not even the exorbitant prices here. However, if you shop carefully you can get a lot of stuff at the Teeter for quite a small bit of change. I shop at Harris Teeter in Tysons Corner three times a week. It's close to my home and for the most part their food is good. One thing that's been consistently bad since they opened in 2007-2008 is their fruit. Rotten grapefruit hidden in plastic bag wrapping. I just returned from shopping there today. I bought a bag of five or six grapefruits. Had to throw two away immediately for they are rotten wet leaking. It's gross not to mention a money loser for me. I don't understand how they can bd so poor at fruit quality control. Lesser priced stores like Safeway and Giant NEVER have rotten fruit out. I have only experienced this at Harris Teeter in Tysons Corner and it's consistent. I won't buy fruit there anymore sad to say. Which means making two stops instead of one when doing food shopping. Pathetic. But besides wasting money weekly on grapefruit they have other good qualities. But Jesus. Why do they suck so badly at maintaining fruit and clearing off their rotten putrid fruit?? Nice supermarket but 2 consecutive bad experiences with employers make me write this review. Last week I asked for help at the Deli to the employee who was sitting there, I asked him for 3 Lbs of Grilled Herb Turkey Breast, sliced. They guy proceed to try to get me to buy the prepacked boar's head instead. I told him I didn't ask for that and he insisted again! Then I asked him to slice to slice the breast and package it in a plastic bag ( been doing this for 7 years ) and the guy told me he was not allow to do it ! That was the end of my planned dinner. Today I went to the pharmacy to pick up an medication that comes in a 10 ml vial. This was my third trip to try to get the medication, second was Sunday, 4 days ago and the first about 2 week ago. Prescription was sent to them electronically, I received an phone call letting me know my medication was ready for pick up, I show up....no medication. I was told they will order it, no explanation, no apology. Went a second time, I was told medication was ready, I did self pay and used a coupon, step to one side, opened the paper bag to find six 1 ML vials of the medication, not the 10 ml vial ordered. To composite, they charged me as I had received the 10 ML vial, I asked to talk to the pharmacist, his tag name said Daniel, he told me he will order the medication for next day and gave all kind of assurances the medication will be there next day ( Monday ). I got another call on Tuesday, letting me know that the medication was ready for pick up, I went today and the pharmacy tech was giving me the same 6 vials they tried to give me last Sunday, she called the pharmacist, Daniel, who proceed to tell me that they ordered the medication and the vial they received it was expired. So they call me to pick up a medication when they don't have it ready and try , again, to sell me some thing different than ordered. The guy proceed to repeat word by word all the assurances he gave me 4 days ago. Not a simple word of apology for making me go to the store 3 times to waste my time. As result, now I have to try to get a hold a the prescribing physician to write the prescription and send it to another pharmacy. I am not a fan of having my time wasted by inefficient employees who obviously don't care. Where is their costumer service pride? For seven years I had been a costumer of this location, you would expect that having now competition near by with the new Whole Food Supermarket would make administration put emphasis on the little details, including costumer service.
