I almost gave this place five stars until I remembered their chicken needs more seasoning. LOL. I like to visit their hot bar when it looks good which is usually when they put it out. This is my local Harris Teeter so I visit it frequently. It's a nice spot to grab quick things but not do full grocery shopping if you know what I mean. It's just too expensive. The customer service is okay. I've never had an issue personally but I could see how someone could take issue with one their day supervisors. The two times I've encountered this particular one she did give a vibe of an attitude. Everyone else seems so helpful. read more

This HT is only about a 7 minute walk from my house and I like that they have a garage to get out of underneath. However, people can come through or out of the street into the garage in about 4 different ways so it can be a little tight around the entrance of the garage. Their cart escalator doesn't work at the moment so you have to go with your cart on the elevator but that's not too bad. They have a Starbucks with a big cafe area with chairs if you have some work to do or would like to enjoy a cup of coffee before starting your grocery hunt! They also have some outdoor seating and have both cashiers and self checkout-- the self checkout line does tend to have somewhat long lines anytime I go though. I came here late night because I was in the area and I just needed a place to park. It is tucked away in a corner connected to a Starbucks right next to apartment complexes. It was difficult at first, but the parking is along the side underground. So you would see the sign and go around the side of the building and you'll see a parking garage type entrance, which looks small, but when you get inside, you will see a good amount of parking spaces. Not a ton of spaces, but a fair amount. This place is much smaller than I thought it would be, but I think it's because of the location and there appears to be real estate constraints. The redeeming feature about this place is its wine and beer selection, which is plentiful. It is like a wine store inside a grocery store. They have plenty of wine/beer options placed throughout the store, but the middle is like a complete carve out. Since I am from Maryland, I am not really used to seeing wine in the grocery store, but it is always welcomed. I like perusing this section. Of course, I would not go out of my way to come here, but if you are in the area, it might be a nice spot to pick up something small and head out. read more

Never have checkout lines open forcing you to use self checkout. Self checkout isn't set up to use your own bags (no where to put you bag) causing multiple errors 'in the bagging area.' Nor does self checkout allow you to weight produce without an error. You have to wait forever for 'staff' then the worker had the nerve to review the video of you checking out to make sure you're not stealing when it's their crappy set up causing issues. I have been shopping at Harris Teeter since they showed up in Reston at what used to be Stein Mart. In was in Tysons and needed ingredients for Spinach and Artichoke dip. A Halloween party at work and I like to cook so I volunteered to make it. The store is not the easiest to find. Where to park is another question I had as I'm following the GPS. Lots of cars parked in the no parking zone. I thought I would be getting a ticket. The parking garage is right around the curved pavement, down into a small parking area. I found a spot against the back wall and went inside. You go up on the escalator. Produce is right there so I picked up the baby spinach. Found the cheese and artichoke hearts (never bought these before). Next is the Truly. I like the hard seltzer. It's on sale 12 pack for $15.99. I grab two. The store is difficult to navigate, almost like a scavenger hunt type setup. I finally find the registers and one is open and the dude in front of me has the belt full. Plus half of his cart is still full so I head for self checkout. One person running six stations. I start checking myself out and the Truly comes up $20.99 each. The one person is now working behind the customer service desk with a line. There is another associate there but I try for help and get a blank stare. So i get in line at customer service. Eventually I get the attention of the first associate and she comes over. Nobody picking up on the radio to verify the price so she deducts $10 from my order and I'm out the door. More people to help would be helpful at self checkout. If you're going to have customer service, dedicate someone to that desk. Also, it's Tysons so there are 1000000000 red lights all around. I think I spent more time sitting in endless bottleneck traffic than I did shopping. read more

I had planned on purchasing 6 bottles of wine but could not find a price on the display so that did not happen. Main and major issue is pharmacy in the store.The employee was not pharmacist,she seemed to not be professional or knowledgeable and she was the only person on the duty.My prescription was out of stock,they messed up my insurance information and I ended up spending 30 minutes at the counter. Avoid the sandwiches and pizza sections! They do not rinse their produces before cutting them up. One day I saw this brunette lady literally picked the leaves from a potted basil to put on the pizza. I couldn't believe that she had the audacity to take the whole damn pot from the corner (where they sell lots of potted herbs) and didn't bother rinsing it. It was funny and disgusting at the same time. Can you imagine if dirt got on your pizza?! Then today I saw a different lady (older one with an attitude) who took three tomatoes off the counter with stickers still on them, took the stickers off, and went slicing without rinsing any of them. I guess these two (and probably more that I haven't seen) are just too lazy and don't give a flying F*ck if you get sick from your food. They should be fired. I hope Harris Teeter Customer Service reads this and enforce actions. But then again, they're probably lazy too! read more

Terrible store. The staff is so bad here. They've attracted a lot of bad personalities. Glad to see Yelpers agree. The staff has a major problem with respect, and professionalism. This area is affluent, and customers are generally well off. Most customer's are not black. However, whenever the staff notices black people coming through, they act out, and start having fits of unprofessionalism. It's most often a person-of-color that seems to hold a grudge against me when I'm present. I'm black btw. I've complained to management on average 3 times/month and yet the behavior continues. Example 1, lifting their COVID mask and wiping their dirty nose before handling my groceries. Example 2, violating COVID guidelines by standing less than 6 feet away deliberately. Example 3, general ignorant behavior targeting myself. They are out of control. I made sure to pray for them. read more

Harris Teeter usually isn't my first place to shop but since I've recently moved into the area, I figured that I'd try it out. Although I'm close, I did decide to drive and had no issues. Maneuvering around the building was no problem as it was clear that there's a parking garage attached to it. I will admit, coming in and out of the parking garage could be challenging if another car is entering or exiting. The turn to enter and exit is a little on the tight end. I can't recall if there are any directional signs within the garage but it can be a hassle because cars are freely looking for spots. I don't know if its me or not but I'm not feeling the layout. It just feels like there is no order so I found myself walking up and down useless aisles and being in there a lot longer than anticipated. It just feels a little off. LOL. Speaking of which, if the design is to deliberately walk past the salad and hot bars then they should probably keep the food stocked. The bars look dry and empty. They haven't been appealing to me and I've been there about three times during lunch hours. I'd like to try it but it doesn't look worthy, Sorry Teeters! Shockingly, the prices were fairly good when using your e-VIC card. There is also a Starbucks attached to it, but ehh, I don't care about that lol. read more

This location appears to be understaffed, as you can wait up to twenty minutes to get your lunch at the "Fresh Bar". Associates are not friendly and the food is terrible! As you can see in the photos, the hot bar is not stocked or maintained, especially during busy lunch times. This branch of Harris teeter is right behind silly's house and has a "secret" walkway that leads you right to the store ;-P The have plenty of parking available in the basement of the building, accessible from the behind. The store has a good selection of farm fresh produce (organic and poor, both). They have a huge salad bar, deli, pizza place and it's great for people who work in the neighborhood want to grab something quick. The prices are pretty reasonable but the thing that draws us to this place is their beer and wine collection. They have a great collection and that's where we spend half of our time buying groceries. This store has pretty much everything you will ever need. Its open round the clock and the customer service is pretty decent! read more

I really like Harris Teeter but this location is not one of their better stores so I avoid it despite the fact that it is most convenient to me. There are rarely enough cashiers and self-checkout is fine if your have 3 or 4 things, but a pain if you have a full cart of groceries. Things also seem higher priced at this location. My favorite HT is in Purcellville, VA but closer to Tysons are the well run stores in Falls Church City on Broad Street and of course in Arlington on Lee Highway (though parking can be an adventure at the Arlington store). read more

Update: I don't think it's okay that on May 29th, 2019 I bought a Bottled Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee Beverage only to realize it was expired in September of 2018! That's right, they are selling products that expired close to a year later... And I know I should've probably checked in the store but sometimes I forget to when I buy a lot of stuff. The only gripe I have about this location is the parking, which can be somewhat of a pita during busy hours. There have been a handful of times I never made it inside bc there weren't any open spots. I think I am officially done with this place. Though it's a convenient walk, I'd be better off driving to a store that accepts responsibility and is accountable for issues pointed out by their customers. So just an update to my previous review...I was contacted (eventually) after sending my review to customer service. A manager reached out weeks later and told me that their shelves are stocked by vendors. However, I still believe there should be some sort of accountability because it's YOUR store. Nonetheless, she apologized and told me they would keep a watchful eye and told me to ask for her the next time I was in so she could "take care of me." And she did. I had a cart of groceries that she rang up at no charge. Gee, thanks! BUT, get it together!! In the last week, I've come across items more than a week past the expiration date. This is very alarming to me. Especially when it comes to dairy!! Check your shelves!! Hold your vendors accountable! This is just absurd to me. It doesn't seem like rocket science. I've been on a healthy kick (only because I'm going home in a few weeks and I always return 7-10lbs heavier). So, I made homemade guacamole and went for tortilla chips. Every bag of Tostitos w/a hint of jalapeño except 2 were expired by a week!! So as I always do, I took a bag of the expired ones to the customer service desk to inform a manager. Remember the manager I referenced in my first review that always looks at me like a zoo animal? He was the one on duty but I have his name now - Geoffrey. I tell him the chips are expired and how last Sunday I bought Fage Yogurt and didn't realize until I was home that it too had expired a week before. He just looked at me and said "ok". Uuum, first of all...how the heck are you a manager?!? There was no apology until I told him I'd be contacting customer service. But let me not jump ahead....I explained to him that this happens far too frequently and they should do a better job at monitoring the situation. He replied, "our shelves are stocked by vendors" Me: um....SOOOOO!! You pay vendors for a service. If they don't deliver on those services, you change vendors, no??? I became annoyed and told him that every time I bring him an expired product, he looks at me like I'm speaking a foreign language or like I'm some zoo animal to which he replied, "ma'am, I've never seen you before in my life." Here's what...I frequent this store because it's close. I'm here 3-4 times a week for one off items. I didn't believe him for a second. Whether you remember me or not, this is how you address a customer's concern?? So I say, thanks GEOFFREY!! I'll just contact customer service to let them know. THEN, he wanted to apologize. But I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because I stopped in tonight for some fruit and nuts and grabbed a bag of expired peanuts. Thank God I caught this before leaving the store and "forgetful Geoffrey" was at customer service again. He appeared to remember me today. This store doesn't have the best pick of produce. The seafood is overpriced and half the other goods are expired. Save yourself a trip and go to Giant or Safeway. Do not bother because even if you complain they treat you like you're an inconvenience. Another fellow yelper had an experience here this week as well. They refused to honor a sale price that was incorrectly posted. I'm sure he yelped about it. Take it from me, go some place else. read more

I love this grocery store, not Harris Teeter in general, THIS Harris Teeter. It is fairly new, I think only about a couple years old and so clean. I always feel like I walked into it right after the cleaning lady has been by, such a great feeling. The produce is nice and fresh, and there is a large selection. I love the salad bar, there are many options to choose from and I never run into the problem of anything being short on the line. They have a hot food bar that could use some work, but if you want hot food go to a restaurant or make your own! They have a sushi station that is also very fresh, and for grocery store sushi, its pretty darn good. When getting medication filled, the pharmacy is never too crowded and I have gotten scripts filled there in literally 15min. I just let them know I am in a little bit of a rush, and I say "thank you" and "you are the best" a couple of times and they hook it up. When it comes to the checkout line, I never have to wait. At the mos there is one person in front of me at any given point. And if you have a quick item you want to buy, then just self checkout, quick and easy. Parking is easy there as well. Underground parking, and plenty of it. You do have to take an elevator or escalator upstairs, but it isn't bad at all. I will warn you, do not park out front in the no park zone. There are sometimes tow trucks parked in hiding waiting to nab you. It has happened to me, and he charged 50 cash, which I am sure he pocketed, to release my car. Just a word of caution. All in all, it is a great grocery store that is clean, well maintained, not too crowded and easy to navigate. Enjoy! read more

This location was my first time at a Harris Teeter and I loved it! Friday is $4 foot long day ($2 six in subs) so lunch on Friday is friendly on my pockets. :) The selection of food is great- if I lived closer, I would definitely do my food shopping here. Everything looked so fresh! The food court area had a lot of selection- pizza, chinese, fried chicken, deli... you name it. There is also a little cafeteria area where you can pay for your food and sit down and eat. Oh yeah, and a Starbucks. Awesomeness. It was a bit crowded around lunch though. I had to wait quite a while on line to check out for my lunch. But other than that, the experience and food was good. Prices weren't bad either. read more

What I like about this Harris Teeter is the fact that it's kept clean, neat, the hand wipes at the entrance are always there (unlike some Giants, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's), they have the underground parking garage so you don't have to get wet on a rainy day. And also, in the summer, Harris Teeter comes handy with the dry ice when you need it. read more

This is the closest grocery store to me and is open 24/7, making it very convenient. I usually only go when I need something in a pinch. Their produce is on the pricey side and not fresh. More often than not I've seen produce that looks like it went bad. Reached into the onion bin one time and one of the onions was slimey, ew!!!!! Do not go out of your way for this grocery store. In fact, if it's on the way, it might be better to go elsewhere if you have the option. If this is the only one available to you, be very wary of the produce. read more

I am only updating my review because no one has ever given a nod to the pharmacy here, and a grocery store is a grocery store, but there is something to be said about acumen and professionalism from the perspective of a patient (or doctor) using pharmaceutical services. I only fill my scripts here and prefer to send my patients scripts here when I can. The pharmacists here (especially Tram) are the absolute best around. I have encountered many lazy pharmacists at other pharmacies who won't work with patients or run copay cards (those annoying cupoun like things your doctor gives you to hopefully make your branded medications cheaper) but these pharmacists will ALWAYS go out of their way to make sure the patients truly get the best care they can. Tram has on more than one occasion given my patients step by step instructions on how to use inhalers properly, how to take their medications appropriately, and goes through all of a pateints medications to make sure there were no drug-drug interactions- every time. They are also always great about taking medication call ins over the phone, and always have everything ready promptly. The staff is extremely friendly l, and you get a sense that they care. On top of all that Harris Teeter offers excellent deals on generic medications when you use your VIC card. You can't go wrong with this location- I promise read more

I love the Harris Teeter commercials. They make grocery shopping seem like a yuppie excursion! So imagine my delight when this Harris Teeter opened up a mere block or so from my office! I had visions of doing my grocery shopping during my lunch break, and perhaps pick up an order or two of sushi or a nice fresh panini. Of course, these visions of delightful efficiency were cruelly shattered when I looked at the prices. I'm not sure if this is true of all Harris Teeters or just this one because it is right down the street from the ritzy Tyson's II Mall, but when I saw that they were charging $3.15 per pound for *broccoli*, I nearly fainted. Perhaps I've been spoiled by Lotte, with their $1.05 per pound broccoli crowns, but even Giant and Safeway doesn't charge more then $1.99 per pound for broccoli. I mean...my god, it's BROCCOLI, not a porterhouse steak! And yes, I see the complete failure of logic on my part, as I will buy a $400 purse without even pausing to think about it, but paying $3.15 for broccoli will launch a 45-minute rant about how insane that is. But then again, it's BROCCOLI. Unless the broccoli was grown in Christian Dior's backyard, charging almost twice as much as Giant (and three times as much as Lotte), is just highway robbery and insanity. Also, the layout of the store is a little weird (again, not sure if it's just this store, or all Harris Teeters), in that the checkout aisles are behind the produce aisle. So you enter the store, stroll through the produce aisle, and then pass by the checkout aisles to get to the other side of the store. Odd. However, there is a lovely wine aisle, which I see will come in handy, and the deli section (where the paninis and sushi are made) looks fantastic...let's just hope that they're not charging something insane for them - or this will launch, yet another, 45 minute rant. So in a nutshell, the store is clean, and I love the wine section. Although the veggies look fresh and there is a nice organic section, I'm very disturbed by the prices. I am reviewing this as a lunch spot, not a grocery store. But Harris Teeter has pretty much eliminated 90% of the decision-making process for me when noon rolls around during the work week. This is by far the biggest and nicest Teeter in the area; where most of the HT's are in 'urban' areas and try to be really economical with their space, this one is huge and is clearly taking cues from Wegman's playbook. It isn't quite there, but it's nipping at Danny's heels. Your lunch options are: -Sbarro-level Pizza by the Slice ($2.50 for pepperoni) -Subway-level traditional Harris Teeter subs (Meatball, Steak and Cheese, normal lunch meat choices) -Sushi -Hot bar with different daily offerings (pasta, baked chicken, meatloaf, wings, casserole) -Asian hot bar with different daily offerings (teriyaki chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, etc) -Prepared food bar (different chicken breasts, some Panini-like sandwiches, tons of different salad choices) -Soup of the day -Salad bar (normal toppings; they change the basic salad choice up sometimes, so don't just expect plain green lettuce) -Fruit bar (technically part of the salad, but there is a big selection) Here's some tips for getting lunch there: Tuesday is half-priced 6-inch sub day. If you want a 12-incher (who doesn't?), order two 6-incher and you save $2. The sub people don't care that they have to put it in two different bags. Monday is $8 full pizza day, and as far as I can tell, there is no topping restriction. They have a legitimate pizza oven here and, I'm not even kidding, their pizza is better than 90% of the places in the area. They take ingredients, like the peppers, right from the shelf so there's no doubting the freshness. Check out the Panini/flatbread pre-prepared sandwiches behind the glass case near the potato salad counter. If you ask, they will toss those into the toaster for you, which makes them pretty silly (and I think they're only like $5.50, so it is actually cheaper than a 12-inch sub). They put out the dumplings and wings for the hotbars around 11 AM. They are really good if fresh; not so great if they're under the heat lamp for long. Don't get the chicken fingers. They are dry and you don't have any dipping choices. The SMART Spiced Chicken Breast is pretty good and allegedly healthy. If you aren't adding anything crazy to your salad bar choice, the prepared House Salad they sell on the wall behind the salad bar is actually bigger and cheaper than what it will cost paying by the pound. read more

Ok all of the people rating this place so highly are either on crack or have never bought fresh produce here. The kale is rubbery and wilted. The broccoli is rubbery. The tomatos and avocados are squishy and close to spoiling. All this while paying MORE than you would at whole foods. WTF??? This place is a complete rip off. I give it 1 extra star for how convenient the location is (i can walk and it's often faster than driving). If it wasn't for the convenience i'd happily never shop here. This was my first time at this Harris Teeter and I can say am huge fan. There is underground parking which was very easy to find a spot. I love that Harris Teeter provides fruit samples.
