I guess even good ol' Heinens can't move south without acquiring a fancy Southern name Harris. Seriously the store so far is lovely. Remember I didn't say cheap though. It's a little bit fancier than local Lion's food or Lowe's, and in my good days I would have given it only 3 stars, but after today it got an extra star. That's how much a difference a lady in a flower department can make. She efficiently and gently assembled the most beautiful orchid/lillies bouquet which later turned out to be an allergenic household disaster, but it is hardly her fault. In general God bless all the sweet ladies in floral departments of grocery stores across the country who without being paid a penny extra, pour out all of their florist's enthusiasm into bouquets under $40. God bless them and their gentle capable hands and warm smiles. Sushi win my next praise. Absolutely delicious restaurant quality. Wish sampling days were more frequent, hint-hint. Bakery honestly could be better and bigger. Who makes a cheesecake that delicious the size of a baseball? Only someone without a heart I guess. I applaud everything you are doing there but can we upgrade the size? Same applies to Tiramisu. I would love to have an entire cake not two spoons of it in a fancy little glass. I feel like Gulliver eating your tini-tiny desserts. In general I can't say that I am in love, but you have all the fall and its beautiful apples ( my huge weakness) to win my heart. read more

Only 2 stars due to their deli. If one or two customers are in front of the deli, it's crowded. I was trying to pick up pre-packaged chicken salad but was blocked by a man waiting for his deli sandwiches to be made and after a while it was just frustrating. Their deli selection is small & limited. You won't find dinner items or salads as in most other grocery stores. And if you do good luck getting to them if more than 2 customers are waiting. However the rest of the store is up to par. Friendly staff & having Starbucks with friendly employees is a plus! read more

I've never reviewed a grocery store before because... it's a grocery store. But I had to write about my experience here. Last week I did the express shopping. At least, I think that's what it's called. I chose the food I wanted online and the next day, I pulled up, paid, and the staff put my groceries in my car for me. I never had to leave my car. My order was perfect and it was an overall wonderful experience. I'll pay 4.95 for that service all day long. But that's not what compelled me to write this review. Yesterday I received a HAND WRITTEN thank you note in the mail from the woman who helped me with my order. WHAT?! Who does things like hand written notes anymore?! It was such a thoughtful touch that I had to write this review. I'll definitely be back for more "express" shopping. I feel like Harris Teeter cares about my business and I appreciate that. read more

I absolutely love shopping at this grocery store. Everything is always fresh and clean. Their meat selection is amazing. My son likes coming because they have little cards for tiny shoppers and they encourage them to be used. It makes grocery shopping much easier when you have a child around! read more

The store itself is great. Shelves are kept stocked and produce is always fresh. The deli food and meats are good as well. When it gets crowded they have adequate workers up front which is a huge plus. The Starbucks is where the problem is. They are constantly running out of things.. Supplies, food ingredients.. The little cardboard wrap that goes around the cups seems to be out of their supply a lot and I'm not a fan of burning my hand on the cups read more

I used to go to HT regularly, thrilled to find higher quality products than available anywhere else in the area. I realize higher quality means higher prices. The customer service in this store is an embarrassment, though. Cashiers always have something snarky to say about what I am purchasing. Employee at the bread counter barks at me if I ask a question. I am NOT a high-maintenance customer, I simply want to get my grocery shopping done without being insulted. I now only shop this store for the occasional high-end items I can't find at Food Lion. read more

This store that was much awaited in its country location, outshines not only the other grocery stores I have frequented in the Triangle area for the past 25 years, but other Harris Teeter stores by far. I did have one problem, which was investigated and resolved immediately. The Managers are attentive and always helpful. Like anywhere, you will get the occasional employee who does not care much to do their job. Some people interview well, and all stores have this experience. One can tell the training that other great employees have received, as well as the personable manner in which they engage with customers. The food--cannot forget the great varieties of food. From the usual selections of brands in the area to organic, non-GMO, and international brands, the prices are good especially with their frequent sales, and is fresh and usually not outdated. I had one experience with an outdated food, and was promptly refunded. One experience with a bad food since the store opened is definitely an outlier in the food industry. I added the bad with the good, because no store or person is perfect. But I think these Harris Teeter Managers do their best to make their store the best it can be. read more

I frequently go to the Starbucks at Harris Teeter in Clayton NC. Margot usually waits on me. She is AMAZING!!! She always is pleasant and smiling. She treats each customer as an individual. She makes my drinks the same way everytime and I always look forward to seeing her. read more

Nice store, great Prices on the Vic items and they have great sale items. They seem to have items in stock or a rain check to get it later. Super doubles are super if you coupon. People seem nice and helpful. read more

I have ordered subs from the deli area on Friday quite often. So far the last 3 weeks have been very disappointing. 3 weeks ago, we ordered Tuna subs. We called in the order at 430 pm and asked that they would have them ready by six. When my son got there, they hadn't made them. They forgot. He had to wait and they made them. The line was really long and there was only 2 people working behind the counter. Last week, I again called in the order at 430 and said we would pick them up at 6. My husband arrived and they were just making them. They also forgot to put cheese on it. Tonight my husband ordered our subs at 430 and a said he would pick them up at 6. When he arrived they were done but they put the sandwiches on top of the counter right where the line is. People would not get out of the way so he had to say excuse me a half dozen times to get our sandwiches. People did not want to move. Then when he bought them home, my sandwich had hardly any lettuce on it and the oil and vinegar was on the side, which I didn't ask for that way. They need more help on Friday night making subs and they need to train how to make a sub. read more

Customer service is not as good as other Harris Teeter Locations. At the deli, I was not familiar with the ham that was on sale. I asked the employee what kind of ham it was and she replied 'I have no idea' and just stood there. She did not offer to find out, she did not offer to give me a sample. She acted as if I was bothering her. For a moment I thought I was shopping at Walmart. I also had a less than stellar interaction with a customer service employee. There were items that were incorrectly marked as being on sale. I had actually seen these the week before and mentioned it to the front desk who said they would take care of it. When I told this gentleman about it, he could care less and said to just buy what I wanted and let the cashier know to adjust the price. I tried to explain that this wasn't the point, that I had let them know about this the week before and the wrong tag was still there. Again, an employee who could care less. This is certainly not the customer service I would expect from a Harris Teeter. I can get better service and lower prices down the road at Food Lion. read more
