HT is definitely one of my favorite stores. I visit this place at least twice a week. Its my spot. Saturday April 18th around 7: 50 p.m. I checked out with Serenity. A very rude, vile young lady who obviously hates her job as a cashier and customer service representative. She rang my items up incorrectly three times and when I corrected her, I got the " hissing sound" of the young ladies that are angry they were corrected. I watched in silence and was astounding that this young lady is on the front lines of waiting on customers. I asked for managers and names. As I was leaving, I did run into Austin, and we discussed what Miss Serenity did. His comment was " thats unacceptable and she will be written up." I am definitely not trying to get this young lady in trouble, maybe a 2nd time around in customer training is what needs to happen. Serenity, do better babe! Do better! read more

the absolute WORST experience at the Harris teeter in Clayton NC ( flowers plantation) I waited 53 minutes for my express lane order and had to keep calling to see where my groceries were!! Had an unfortunate interaction with Mr. Kyle. There were 3 registers opened, I asked Kyle if 3 was opened, he said no only 4, 5, and 6. And the next 2 seconds, he invited another patron was invited to go to register 3. I asked Kyle why didn't he invite me to go to register 3 since I was first. No customer service etiquette, this young man proceeded to argue with me about how many seconds/ minutes it was before I asked about register 3. Obviously, Kyle felt some source of entitlement and was not customer service friendly. Kids- regardless of the race or the age everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Because you have a position of authority does not give you the right to mistreat your customers. Very disappointed in HT- one of my favorite stores. read more

This place is about 20 mins away from me and there is a good lion 5 mins away so I rarely come. But yesterday was our anniversary and I wanted to get some fresh seafood and make a nice dinner! I got lobster tails for $7 each. I got salmon and tuna and they were fresh and delicious. I loved that the gentleman allowed me to pick which fish pieces in wanted. Another thing I love about HT is that the customer service is amazing! We had someone greet us when we walked in. And he was so friendly and this gentleman also cleaned out cart handle and because I had my daughter with me he even wipes down the sitting area of the cart for us! I wish there was a HT closer to my house! Our cashier was great. Friendly and quick. She even double bagged my simply ices all together and tied them so they wouldn't fall out the bag! She went Above and beyond! Amazing staff!! The thing that disappointed me was that I was not able to find blueberries for my daughter. They did have 2lb blueberries but there were many that were moldy and I didn't want to buy that and that was the only option. read more

This store is always busy and I'm not sure why. Their prices are higher than Publix and no, I don't want to buy four or five items to get the sale price. The Starbucks inside is always dirty. Also some of the cashiers are rude. I will go back to Publix as it is always clean with friendly service. read more

This review is specifically for the pharmacy... they never answer my calls. I've called three days in a row, twice a day, and they don't answer. When they do answer, they are very rude and hang up quickly without leaving any time for me to ask questions. I just moved to the area back in May and this is the closest Harris Teeter to me. This pharmacy is actually garbage. Maybe try hiring people who actually give a shit about their jobs and the people who come here. read more

I broke a tooth on a rock like substance that was in Harris Teeter brand peanut butter in November 2022. I have been back and forth with them trying to get my dental expenses covered...still waiting in April 2024. I have not shopped at Harris Teeter since I broke my tooth and will never shop their again. They cant even take responsibility for a product with their name on it. So I wanted to stop and give another review to Mrs.Sharon in the Deli Dept... She always greets my husband and I with a smile no matter what... One day she was getting off work and we was on our way into the store... And she stopped us and asked how we was doing. Because when we first strted coming to this location I always spoke t her and asked her how her day was and she would do the same. My husband really likes it when she makes ur subs. My grand daughter and I are new Insta cart shoppers and were checking out with 2 orders. Zak the young man at the register grabbed the first cart and started scanning order when my granddaughter showed him the bar code that needed go be scanned. He said you should have shown me that first and started unpacking the items he had scanned. She apologized several times but he never responded. He scanned the barcode and slung each bag into the cart. When he finished the 2nd cart he pushed it so hard away from the aisle she had to chase it down. I've never encountered such an attitude. This cashier needs to be trained in the art of customer service. read more

I am updating my review to a 4 star. After emailing HT, a week later a manager called and offered to refund our money for the issues, (we also had a 2nd issue, the day after I posted the yelp review). The manager was very concerned about our issues and I feel like he genuinely cared. I will be giving HT another shot as I really do feel like they want to make it right. read more

Please understand that I am a loyal Harris Teeter customer. HT has been my preferred grocery store for more than 25 years. I was overjoyed when one finally opened in Clayton. At first I chalked the flaws up to the fact that the store was new and experiencing growing pains, but it has been open for several years now and I can no longer blame their inexperience or hold my tongue. In my experience, Harris Teeter is generally known for their selection and customer service. Neither is at this store. There are almost always vast, empty spaces on the shelves where they have run out of stock. It consistently looks as though people have been shopping for a hurricane or a blizzard. I have yet to make a trip to the store where they have not been out of one or more items that I needed (and I am not looking for anything unusual). Requests to management that they stock items are completely ignored. Produce is literally rotting on the shelves. On more than five occasions, I have been treated to cashiers talking trash about each other right in front of the customers at the checkout line. On one occasion, a cashier spent a good five minutes telling me what a jerk his manager was. This is a genuine Wal-Mart experience at Harris Teeter prices. read more

Today at starbucks the girl working told me that she couldn't sell me one drink because they are losing money actually she said my sale needed"to be more than 5 or 6 dollars". I am so confused?!?! That's literally why you're losing money...... I don't understand. So I walked away without buying anything- and that's why you're losing money..... Also, I'll be shopping at Publix from now on. This is silly that I keep giving HT a chance. Do not order a cake from the bakery if it's important to you to actually have..... I ordered my husbands 50th Birthday cake and when I arrived to pick it up I was told to wait. 10 minutes later a manager approached me and said that the cake wasn't made and that the decorator was in a car accident. I had previously been told by an employee that she was given the day off after she told them that all the cakes were already done.... whatever, that doesn't matter that the store manager lied to me about it - the point is, as a customer, employee drama doesn't matter to me- what matters is that if I order a special occasion cake, that they fulfill their part by having it ready at the time specified on the order. The manager told me that he would make the cake for me, I asked him how many cakes he's decorated that year and he looked away and said said 10..... come on! In addition, the store employee that looked at my order sheet told me that they shouldn't have even taken the order for a round cake because they only do special order sheet cakes - that they no longer can get the round cakes in the store unless it comes pre-made with icing already on it. No wonder the manager tried to get me to pick a pre-decorated frozen sheet cake from the case..... That's like me being your nurse and saying, hold on, I don't do this everyday but I read about it once in a book..... zero confidence. I'm so disappointed in this experience- not so much that it happened but how it was managed. My husband may or may not have cake for his 50th Birthday - something tells me that Lowe's grocery store will be able to help me with this.... I should have place the order there anyway, their customer service is better than HT by far..... I will never order another cake from Harris Teeter and I will probably go as long as I can without shopping there period. When does Publix open? read more

I prefer Harris Teeter when shopping for groceries. I tag along with the wife and we've always had good service from the employees. Lately, the cashiers have seemed to be more and more unhappy, and less friendly. I'm afraid today may have been our last trip to that particular store. Our cashier wasn't very happy with us, because we weren't very happy with her. Our groceries were getting some rough treatment. I like my potato chips whole, not half crushed before we even pay for them. Just because Pringles come in a can, it doesn't mean you should toss them the length of the bagging stand. I like my bananas and avocados without bruises. I shouldn't have to tell someone who works with produce that they will go bad at the spot of the bruise prematurely. We were rather dismissively told that avocados are pretty hard, as though that justified bouncing them around before bagging. That wasn't enough though. She sarcastically told us we could go get some others and to make sure we check our eggs. There are too many grocery stores in the area to accept treatment like that. 3 stars is because I hate to give anybody only 2 based on this one incident. read more

Unusual visit last night. Store is always clean and well stocked. However, with our interaction with 2 employees was anything but what we have come to expect. There was a sale on ground beef that we wanted but the shelf was empty. We went to the meat department to ask about it and no one recognized us as we waited. There was one employee waiting on a customer and another one packaging what turned out to be the beef we were looking for. My wife asked if there was anymore and the gentleman the was packaging the meat glanced up, didn't say a word, walked right past us and then proceeded to stick the shelf. Not once was there a word spoken or an acknowledgement that we were there or had asked a question. Then at checkout my wife had asked the clerk/ cashier about the sale that was on for the flour and sugar. We had 2 of each but the add said limit of 2 so we weren't sure if that was a limit of 2 total or a limit if 2 for each product. The young gentleman responded a snide remark whether the sale said "and" or if it had a "or". While it was a valid question and 1 were weren't sure which it said, it was the way and tone it was said. Maybe it was a bad day, for the both of them or because it was a wet and rainy Sunday, it's not what I would call customer oriented. read more

I've shopped here for years at other locations. Recently moved to this area and started at the Deli. I had to stand and wait for over 5 minutes for someone in this department to even say hello and ask what I needed. There were several employees just standing around in the deli doing nothing while I was just standing there. Then when I went to check out I went into a lane that was open and a very heavy large man standing in that lane named "DANIEL" looked at me when I came up and you could tell he didn't want me to come his way. I had a lot of things in my cart and you cold tell he didn't want to unload it. He didn't even say hello when I came up with my cart. He was annoyed and it was written all over his face. It made me as a customer feel very uncomfortable. The only thing he said to me was do you have a Harris Teeter Card for points. I typically just give them my phone number and he didn't want to even enter that because he was so lazy. I had to enter it on the keypad. Someone came to help him bag up groceries and who ever that was said hello to me at least. This DANIEL literally said nothing and was overall super unwelcoming and flat out rude! I spent over $200 and have never received such poor customer service at a Harris Teeter. I won't be back to this location. I will try to the new Publix across the street instead. read more

Overpriced on everything. Snacks were 11.99? Also came looking for pecan key cookies that they use to sell and have never been able to find a simple answer or solution on when they are going to order more. I asked the store manager and he just didn't seem to care at all. Overall for a Harris teeter it's lacking too many products and it's disrespectfully over priced even with inflation I feel it's definitely reaching. Correct those errors and I'd give it better reviews. Produce isn't fresh either. They don't even have sugar free raspberry jelly -_- . read more

Don't use the pharmacy here! I dropped off my new prescription and asked if I qualified for the 20.00 reward program with my insurance which is Tricare. The Pharmacy tech told me I did qualify so I proceeded with giving my information to get the prescription filled. I picked up some groceries and went to get my prescription which took longer than expected. I was then told Military insurance does not qualify but they filled my prescription anyway and charged me my co-pay. This grocery store is only affordable when using coupons. Food Lion on Neuse River Parkway is more affordable and the Pharmacy is quicker and Much better in the customer service department. read more

I have to update my glowing review of my first visit. On my second visit I was really let down on a few things. First, after getting home with my groceries the previous week, I found that every Vidalia Onion I had bought was gray and rotten on the inside. Also, both the Corn and Flour Tortillas were so hard in the packages, even though they had not expired. Additionally I had bought their pre-marinated steaks from the Meat Department but they were very tough and not a very good flavor after grilling them. It was a disappointing meal. Now onto my second experience. I really wanted to try the Starbucks and enjoy a leisurely stroll through the store with a hot Latte, but after waiting for the folks in front of me to get their orders, the guy working behind the counter announced "I'll be back." and then he left! He left me and another couple standing there, while he went into the seating area and chatted with customers while he filled up some bucket with ice. Really? I waited. And waited. How RUDE! I finally left, feeling rather foolish for even trying to spend $4 for a cup of coffee just to be left standing there, wasting my time. GEEZ!! And just before that, I was pulling into a spot in the parking lot, and a lady pulled THROUGH her spot in the next aisle, and right into the spot I was pulling into. REALLY? She knew I was entering that spot but didn't care one bit. The whole atmosphere there is like a big shopping mall, and some people are fine with being rude. In all my years of grocery shopping, I don't think that has ever happened to me at a Food Lion or any other grocery store for that matter. The whole experience was bad there that day, including having to stand in the aisle to wait a full minute for an employee stocking the freezer to finish what he was doing; the aisles were so congested that nobody on either side of him could get around for a really long time. It was SO frustrating. He finally moved and said he didn't see us. Okay. I couldn't wait to get my food and get out of there. I'm back to using Food Lion at Riverwood, where the staff AND the customers are friendly, the produce is fresh, and the atmosphere in (and out of) the store is much more relaxed. read more

I've been in here a few times getting supplies to feed the army. I'm impressed by the cleanliness of the place and it looks brand spanking new. I've not tried any of the food bars they have here as we do the cooking at the house but the army does graze on the samples of cheese and deli meats they have out. Place looks great though. This is a nice store with a good selection. Multiple quality brands available for most products. The staff is mostly friendly and helpful. Just one problem.... THE PRICES!!!! I've done the math. Same few identical (same brand) products sold at competitive stores in the area are 12.3%, 17.1% and 21.8% cheaper. Don't take my word for it. We love HT at Flower's Crossing for shopping and were very happy when they opened the "Hot Bar." The food at the hot bar is generally pretty good, some has been awesome. But, the last 5 times we've gone there specifically to pick up a good hot meal, the bar has been closed. They have odd hours (weekends only offer a "brunch") and once they "sell out" they just close it down. So, it is very unpredictable. The new Publix across the street does not have the good HT selection of groceries but does seem to do a far better job with their food bar. The food is likely mostly all from the same Sysco or US Foods kitchens so the management of the bar and the customer service provided, makes all the difference--and HT's seems to be lacking. It's a shame that something meant to attract customers is actually driving them elsewhere. read more

I just ordered for online/pick up for the first time today. They had my order ready early, sent an email and called to let me know. Pick up was easy, fast, etc. After unloading at home, I realized a few items were missing. I spoke with Rhonda, and she handled the mishap quickly and efficiently. She even offered to have someone come drop off the missing items. Mistakes happen. Customer service is what happens when things don't go as planned, and she's the perfect example. Will definitely order online again. Also, I wish I knew her name, but she works at the Starbucks inside, and is there almost all the time. She's wonderful. Can't complain about any interactions I've had here. read more

The WORST pharmacy I have ever tried. All the pharmacy techs are rude. They ordered the wrong medication then made me wait and made it seem like it was my fault at one point. Communication is horrible. They said they would text me when my prescription was ready...they didn't. They were going to accept my GoodRX when they originally ordered the meds (they ordered the wrong med then they didn't want to accept goodrx for this specific med). When I had to call (several days later) and see if my med was ready I asked if this was the right med to use goodrx to only be told they don't accept goodrx as of today. I know with covid and shortage issues there can be hiccups but I think this is more attitude issues and lack of communication. I definitely won't recommend this pharmacy and I know I am not the only person that has had issues with this pharmacy. I'll be taking my business to Realo since they actually show they care. read more

I would not suggest the Fresh Foods department to anyone ... Fresh Foods manager Mike T. is best friends with the Fresh Foods department district manager, Mark B. and gets away with anything .... has been caught before changing 'best by' labels on food because he doesn't want his 'loss' to go up in inventory. Also very sexist towards his female employees and female customers. Produce department needs some work, often see gnats and empty produce sections. All other departments are great, Meat dept, Dairy Frozen, Starbucks, Front End. read more

A lot of these reviews are completely SHALLOW!!! A previous reviewer rated 2 stars because someone cut her off in the parking lot??? Oh no! I used to manage a Starbucks in Florida years ago. I have also been to this Starbucks multiple times and I've been very pleased with it every time. Another reviewer complained about being out of pumpkin and was discouraged when the employee said they couldn't do anything else pumpkin .... Well, of course not - BECAUSE THEY ARE OUT OF PUMPKIN!!! Everyone always thinks that it is the stores fault for being out of things. I do recall coming in to get my mother in law a pumpkin spice, and the employee told me they were out. NOT BECAUSE they didn't order any, but because the warehouse has been running low and didn't ship any to this store!!!! The employees are always courteous, not all of them are bubbly and outgoing, BUT thats not a problem because they are not rude!!! The manager Eric is very kind and always helps me with any (and all!) of my questions!!! The only negative thing I can say about this store is some of the management within the Harris Teeter itself. I have been approached by one man by the name Kevin when I first walked in. He kept asking me if I needed help and after I said no multiple times, he found me within the store not even 10minutes later, to ask AGAIN!!! I love great customer service, but this was a different kind. He made me extremely uncomfortable and he didn't seem to care. My husband came in with me today and he didn't say a word to either of us, but he definitely made eye contact with me. 2 weeks ago when I was in the line at Starbucks on a busy morning, both employees, Josh and a younger girl, were taking care of customers and the man, Kevin, came over and started raising his voice to the younger girl in the middle of the line. I'm unsure of what she did, but I felt extremely uncomfortable for the girl since she was getting scolded in front of this line. The woman and her two daughters that were in line behind me left said something to her kids (I wasn't eavesdropping!! Just overheard (-: ) along the lines of "If you ever have a manager at a job speak to you like that, do not work there anymore." I AGREE!!!! The cashiers, produce, fresh foods, customer service etc are excellent at this store. Starbucks is excellent and every time I've ever been in I have personally been taken care of wonderfully, and so have the customers in front of and behind me have been too. read more
