Not to mention a sushi station that had me making a hard decision between a poke bowl and a variety pack of rolls. Small improvements would be to re-evaluate the price of all the flower arrangements. If Publix and Costco can make $10-$20 arrangements, so can you. Every one I looked at was north of $30. And what they can't help. No room for lines at the register. No one ever answers the phone at Walmart. Not only that, I have specific directions to where my house is located and my neighbors kept having to bring my groceries to me. Several times the groceries were not delivered at all because the delivery person could not find my house. I saw the delivery person right in front of my house, I like Walmart but it is getting the store seems not to care about their loyal customers.

On top of that, the produce section frequently has rotting fruits and vegetables with very little fresh selection available. Something also needs to be said about the constant parking of lazy customers in the firelane blocking the entrance. This store needs better management, improved inventory rotation, proper equipment maintenance, and employees who are focused on serving customers. There are much better grocery shopping options nearby until these issues are addressed.

But I hate fonts that look like Comic Sans and it's a little too close for my liking. When I see it on a business, my thought immediately is "hmm... so this is the best they could offer?" and walk away. I'm glad I let go of that anti-font bias and walked into Harris Teeter. It's clean, hasn't been busy the times I've gone, and the employees are super nice. While some of the prices are a little high, being most recently from South Florida, they haven't completely thrown me for a loop. Sure, I often find myself going in specifically for a handful of things and walking out with a full cart, but I always feel like I get my money's worth-- especially when you time sales well and are willing to venture from your usual brands. For example, today I bought two boxes of a different brand of pasta than I usually buy (but needed to get two boxes anyhow) and got three more boxes for free. Pair that with BOGO Pasta sauce for the days I'm too lazy to make my own and we have a winner. Usually I just cruise the aisles for whatever deals I can find, assess whether it makes sense to buy something like five boxes of pasta, and go from there. If you're into planning, the e-VIC option is super helpful, and I LOVE how green the store is-- I don't even have to print out my coupons since they're right on my VIC card. Brilliant. Today I saved $68 before coupons, and I feel that despite walking out the door spending $120, I got my money's worth. Of the local stores that I've been in so far, I'm thrilled with how nice the vegetables look and how long they last in my house. When it's been a week since I've gone shopping and I can still eat the extra grapes I bought on sale, I'm sold. Now I also know that there are tons of farmers markets and farm stands around, and once I learn more of the area will primarily rely on them for my in-season produce, but it's nice to know I can just head to Harris Teeter and find what I need and not be disappointed by it.

Several complaints, all in 2026: Had to take back toothpaste that appeared it "might" have been opened and scotch taped over. No problem, the young lady was very helpful and took care of it. Great Customer Service. Some negatives: Four different occasions the broccoli crowns had grit/sand in them even after being washed. The worst part was the deli broccoli salad had grit in them, and this was unacceptable as this was a dish set aside for visiting guests. Could not eat it. Did not take it back but did alert customer service. Today 5/14/2026 was just the latest kicker. Picked up some "Cherry" labeled turnovers to take home. Upon taking one to sample, I discover that they were Apple. I head back to the store, receipt in hand and instead of replacing the box, I simply wanted my money back. $5.99 plus tax coming to $6.39. The young man attended to me decided that I should only receive $6.35 due to a penny shortage. How much trouble would it have been to simply give back to me $6.40? That does not even pay for the gas trip there and back and the hassle. Normally, I would just let this go, but I have seen this location "slipping' in my onion as of late. I can understand mistakes and forgive them easily, BUT I will not tolerate bad customer service. I have left out a few things, but this shall suffice for now. Thank you Lowes for being a trusted service in the past, but not this year. I endeavor to take my business to Harris Teeter on 42 east or the Walmart. I have had it.
