Love my local Harris Teeter. Most times my first choice. Check out is most always what is expected and my groceries are bagged up by HT personnel. I've had to bag my own groceries several to most times at other grocery stores. I have reusable bags; don't like plastic and HT does listen when I say paper if I didn't bring enough bags. read more

This Harris Teeter is our "go to" location. It has convenient parking especially for someone with a handicap. The food selections are always fresh and well-stocked. The cashiers are some of the friendliest people and seem to generally enjoy working there. Thus, the atmosphere and overall food shopping experience is well worth the trip. It's one of the smaller Harris Teeters I have shopped at. It's well stocked on canned goods but the bakery is lacking the variety you find at other Harris Teeters. While the fruits and vegetables used to be exemplary; now they are the same, if not lesser quality that you would find anywhere. The subs are good depending on who is working the counter, but like unlike everything else in the store they aren't over the top expensive. The people who work there are professional and friendly depending on who you get. It used to be across the board but that no longer holds true. Over the past few years the quality of it's customer service has seriously declined. They used to always listen and easily resolve what ever issue I've had. That no longer holds true. It is too expensive and limited to have cringe-worthy experiences. read more

My husband and I recently moved from the tri-state area and we visited Harris Teeter a couple of months ago. It was large and beautiful, very similar to what we had in Connected. Harris Teeter's recent behavior on pulling American products and playing "woke" is a disgrace. We will not patronize this establishment until they promote America and Americans who love her. read more

All I wanted was some roast beef and few other deli items First the non greeting from the person behind the counter was as non pleasant as it could be As I gave the first item on list Roast Beef 1lb I was TOLD someone else would have to handle that for me I asked , Why ? The store is average at best but the deli counter is shamefully disfunctional. Undertrained unmotivated staff, you will wait at least 20minutes to get the smallest amount of food. The ones that do know how to work wont' make eye contact and just shovel the customer interface on new doe-eyed employees who clearly don't care to be there. Avoid. read more

I'm disappointed in the customer service from some of the employees. I of all people understand that at the end of a long shift, everyone is ready to go home. But it doesn't give anyone the right to be rude to any customers just cause they walked in the door 10minutes till closing. My mama has bad knees and has trouble walking, but likes to be as independent as possible. She came home crying cause the man closing the self checkout lines kept giving her attitude and was rude. She didn't want to bother anyone, but because she can't walk well, she asked him to help her get two cases of water so she could get out of everyone's hair before the 11pm closing time. But instead of taking 2minutes to get the items, he complained about not having locked the doors in time before she got there and how "this woman" was making him get her two cases of water. Which he threw in her cart and made her walk anyways. She tried to check out on her own since he clearly did not really want to help her, and he yelled at her about which register to use, like she was supposed to know. She got flustered and nervous so she fumbled with her payment cards and he snapped at her, then trying to hold back tears, she wasn't speaking loudly enough for him, cause he told her in a harsh tone, "speak louder, I can't hear you if you're mumbling!" After all of that he said "have a nice day!" Ans she said "it was a nice day, until I came here." read more

So I have been a long time shopper at this location. Over the past several months (since a change in managers) I have noticed a decline of customer service and quality of food. For the past 3 or 4 months, the ground hamburger in the meat section has an expiration date within a day or two. What are they doing with the meat that makes in only good for a day or so when they place it out for sale? Not sure what is going on but it is very concerning to me...I will not buy it period. Today, we walked in to do our weekly shopping and did not make it out of the produce section before I left my cart in the aisle and walked out. We attempted to buy some cucumbers. They were all yellow and soft...looked like it had been weeks since they were picked. We passed. We then arrived at the lettuce...same thing. Every head had large brown spots on it. Again...not freshly picked. So we decided to buy a bag of lettuce mix. We checked the expiration date...you got it it was tomorrow. What the hell man???? Meat about to expire, salad mix about the expire...do they expect you to come everyday and shop for that day only to buy stuff that is about to expire. Why is this acceptable?? We talked with the manager....he stated he was new to the store and would clear up all of the issues immediately. I have been told this in the past. The manager even said when he arrived today he walked through the meat department and found several items that were expired. What?????? He then said "well about to expire" WHAT?????? About 2 months ago, I was there and the hamburger was a deep brown color. I told the manager and she stated "it is the lighting in the store that make it look like it is about to spoil." Skip this Harris Teeter...Lowes Food is close in Garner and another Harris Teeter is less than 5 miles down the road in Cary (much nicer with a lot more perks to offer). read more

I really like Harris Teeter usually but this one constantly annoys me. I'm signed up for eVic specials and over the last year and a half i can count on 1 hand when they had the items in stock. I don't understand why you'd bother to put something you didn't have a good supply of on special. This week white cage free eggs were on sale for $1.57. I went by Friday and they were out. I asked and was told they were out and none were in the back. I went back yesterday (Tuesday) and this time i asked if they were getting any in or subbing or what "oh there was a mix up and our eggs went to the wrong store. We haven't had those in weeks and aren't subbing. For the cost conscious it's just too much work to shop at this store. read more

There are at least three different grocery stores in my immediate area, and more times than not, I find myself at Harris Teeter. The store is laid out well and they carry almost anything you could expect of a grocery store. Some of the things I like about this store is that it is clean - noticeably clean - and I appreciate that in a grocery store. Another is the seafood and meat counters - I frequently purchase sashimi grade tuna from their counter and have yet to be disappointed as it has always been very fresh and flavorful. Why not 5 stars? Although the produce section is good, we will often go to the local farmer's market to get fresh veggies that we don't find here. The beer & wine section is very good for a grocery store, but again, I find myself going to a competing grocery store for a better selection of craft and local beer. Harris Teeter is definitely not the cheapest store in the area, but I feel they are competitively priced for the items they offer and the atmosphere they keep within the store. My 11 year old son even likes to go grocery shopping with his mom because there is a Starbucks in the store (he likes to go get a hot chocolate and flirt with the ladies). Overall, I'm very much a fan of the store and will continue to shop with them. read more

I was lingering on 4 stars for a while because the prices are higher than neighboring grocery stores. Despite the lack of local produce, I settled on five stars because of the value. It is the same reason people go to Starbucks instead of Dunkin' Donuts. Even though both stores offer Starbucks generally offers a heightened experience through better customer service and atmosphere. Harris Teeter offers the same. Also, if you are a good planner and wait for their weekly specials to cycle through to the items you usually eat and combine them with manufacturer's coupons (which they double) then you can match or beat the competition. read more

I have been shopping at Harris Teeter in Fuquay Varina a few years and never had any problems. Every Tuesday is they have Roasting chicken breast. Today at 11 AM I stop in for the Chicken breast. There was none on the table. The man (who was new) said it would be ready in an hour. I went back at 12:30 and still no chicken on the table. He said they would be ready in 20 minutes. Before this day there was always chicken before 10 AM. I think that is very poor service. read more

I'm new to the area and initially was going to bypass Harris Teeter because of the font on their sign. I know, lame. But I hate fonts that look like Comic Sans and it's a little too close for my liking. When I see it on a business, my thought immediately is "hmm... so this is the best they could offer?" and walk away. I'm glad I let go of that anti-font bias and walked into Harris Teeter. It's clean, hasn't been busy the times I've gone, and the employees are super nice. While some of the prices are a little high, being most recently from South Florida, they haven't completely thrown me for a loop. Sure, I often find myself going in specifically for a handful of things and walking out with a full cart, but I always feel like I get my money's worth-- especially when you time sales well and are willing to venture from your usual brands. For example, today I bought two boxes of a different brand of pasta than I usually buy (but needed to get two boxes anyhow) and got three more boxes for free. Pair that with BOGO Pasta sauce for the days I'm too lazy to make my own and we have a winner. Usually I just cruise the aisles for whatever deals I can find, assess whether it makes sense to buy something like five boxes of pasta, and go from there. If you're into planning, the e-VIC option is super helpful, and I LOVE how green the store is-- I don't even have to print out my coupons since they're right on my VIC card. Brilliant. Today I saved $68 before coupons, and I feel that despite walking out the door spending $120, I got my money's worth. Of the local stores that I've been in so far, I'm thrilled with how nice the vegetables look and how long they last in my house. When it's been a week since I've gone shopping and I can still eat the extra grapes I bought on sale, I'm sold. Now I also know that there are tons of farmers markets and farm stands around, and once I learn more of the area will primarily rely on them for my in-season produce, but it's nice to know I can just head to Harris Teeter and find what I need and not be disappointed by it. read more

Almost my favorite grocery store. First and foremost, almost everyone that works here is about as nice as they can be. If you ever spot Richard, who bags and grabs carts, make sure you talk to him. He's enough to keep you coming back. Now, the store is always clean and well stocked. If there is something not on the shelf, you can ask and they'll probably find it for you. The produce is almost always very fresh. The selection of items is pretty good, but some specialty items won't be found. All in all, best grocery store in the area, hands down. read more

We order subs every Friday because of the sale on subs. We ordered subs and got the text saying "our subs are ready for pickup". We get to the store and we ask the lady working the sub station and she said "are you _____?" I replied yes. She then tells us "we called you guys because we are out of white bread and we called you and left a voicemail." We never received a call but we had the text stating our order is ready for pickup which we showed her to which she said "that must be a mistake". This isn't the first time either. We come in for food for dinner and all of the food is put away when they advertise a dinner special. They have lost a loyal customer. read more

We were promised after the Kroger buy out that Harris Teeter wouldn't change. Shelves not stocked especially the items on sale. (What customer service).... New managers, and I see a big difference...
