My favorite things about Publix are the Pub Subs, fried chicken wings, $5 Sushi Wednesday, and of course the BOGO free deals. Where shopping is a pleasure!

We shop regularly at the Aldi near us in Durham but this one is close to my new office in Raleigh…read more It's in a strip mall with many other businesses, so parking can get crowded at certain times. You know what you're going to get mostly. Cheaper-than-average prices but a limited selection. Produce is decent but not always fresh. That's fine since I got what I came for. Like other Aldi's, don't forget to bring a quarter for a shopping cart, which you get back when you return the card.

I finally made it to Aldi Ya'll. This store reminds me a lot of Trader Joe's just cheaper prices…read moreand larger quantities. This isn't a one stop shop for groceries kind of place. But this is definitely your place for cheaper produce in larger quantities. Very pleased with my haul today and I spent under $50. I scored a large gallon of vinegar for $2.89, stuffed artichoke mushrooms, grape tomatoes, blueberries for $1.89'? Mangoes at $89 cent? Spinach $1. This is the promised land of produce. I also purchased some salmon filets which I can wait to make Tuscan salmon with. Petit Chocolate Wine for $7.99 was a steal. Their alcohol selection really surprised me. They have a lot of different craft beers and wines similar to Trader Joe's layout. The ice cream section was cool as well with some throw backs I haven't seen in awhile. Some tips: You will need a quarter like you're in the 90's to grab a shopping cart. They're serious about you bringing the carts back. Don't expect shopping bags. Save the planet and BYOB. Anissa was a really helpful cashier. She helped motivate my decision to buy the wine tonight :)

This location stands out for their large selection of fresh flowers of the local area and many more unique Asian selections than my location. So tonight I shopped at both Lidl & Food Lion, and scored big by shopping at Lidl first…read more I love Lidl for many reasons, one like stores their prices are compared too, you don't have to have a quarter for a cart (because who really remembers that every time they go to get a cart), but you do have to pay for bags if you don't bring your own, or just have a bunch of groceries sitting in your car. They have great produce, and you're not always limited to buying a bag full of an item, when you really only need 2. They have more variety and lots of name brands at better prices. I hadn't been in awhile and was shocked to see Land O Lakes cheese, Frito Lay Brand snacks, Coke products to name a few brands. You definitely save money here. Plus they have an app which has all the goodies and coupons. They have all the meat, cheeses, selection of refrigerated pastas (to name a few)that you would think it's a specialty. Oh and in another review I mentioned how mouth watering their bakery is. I'll definitely drive the extra mile to go to Lidl.

I visited a Lidl back when I was on a trip in Germany. It was exciting to see that NC had one. The…read morestore is definitely not what I remembered back in Europe and it had mostly US-made products. We were kind of expecting more of a European grocery store. It turned out to be quite random. You can buy hummus on one side and turn around and buy a trampoline. The prices are decent so there's no issue there. It's just not what I remembered Lidl to be. The flow of the aisles were confusing, too. If I had to describe it, it's like a marketplace version of Costco. I do want to visit again during day hours because their bakery section looked like it would be great. Unfortunately, I visited around 7:30pm and most of the bakery items were gone.

All the slices were excellent. And at $4.00-$5.00 a slice, it won't break your wallet. If you visit Wegmans you will love it.

When I was managing larger teams, I'd order catering for my associates pretty regularly. The food was always fresh, well-packaged, and ready on time. I honestly can't remember ever having an issue. The fresh food bar is one of my favorite things about the store, and their produce is consistently some of the best you'll find. I also always stop by the deli for their freshly sliced cheeses and turkey. The bakery and prepared meals are excellent too, and everything just feels higher quality than your average grocery store. The store is always clean, well-organized, and the staff is genuinely helpful. Wegmans has set the bar for grocery stores, and I wish there were more of them.

I've shopped at this Lidl twice and while I like it as an option in my grocery circuit, there's…read moredefinitely room for improvement. Pluses: New store, plenty of space, good mix of private/national brands, the prices are good and the surprise/bargain bin area in the center is fun. Lots of deals in there. I also like that they have items that lean towards their European origins when it comes to pasta, charcuteries, and frozen items that you're unlikely to find in your standard American supermarket. Now for the negatives, for self check-out, the POS (Point of Sales system) is a POS (poo). I've had problems for both my visits and that has caused major problems for me. One resulted in multiple visits to rectify a billing/banking issue, the other just locked up and wouldn't accept my BOA card. The screens/flow of the checkout is just odd here, I recommend using a cash register. I'm pretty comfortable with self check-out and usually it's faster, but not here at Lidl. In all honesty, I'd probably give them 3 stars given how big the chain is and how they should have their store opening process well locked down. But they are definitely still working out issues. And I really hope they do given how close they are to my home.

I've lived in Raleigh for 14 years, and while I've enjoyed a few things from The Fresh Market before, I had never tried their bakery items. When I saw them on the Too Good To Go app, I decided it was the perfect excuse to run out and try it. My first two interactions were fantastic--the lovely elderly woman in the bakery and the sweet cashier checking me out were absolutely amazing and treated me with genuine kindness. However, the front-end manager (I believe her name was Tip or Tiff) completely ruined the experience. Her demeanor was an absolute deterrent. In an interaction that lasted less than three minutes, she hounded the cashier, repeating four or five times: *"Make sure you watch her scan it on the app."* The first time she said it, I thought nothing of it--just standard store process. But repeating it aggressively that many times while I, a Black customer, am just standing there rubbed me entirely the wrong way. To make matters worse, I had also picked up a granola bar to purchase. The manager came over *again*, hounding the girl: *"What are you doing? I have to make sure. Did you actually see her scan it?"* I felt incredibly sorry for the poor cashier, and frankly, I felt targeted. It is deeply frustrating to still deal with people acting like I don't belong in spaces where I absolutely do--and it's even more disheartening when that energy comes from another minority. If I had known I'd be treated with that level of baseline suspicion, I wouldn't have even spent money on the granola bar. That manager's behavior completely turned me away from ever spending my money at this store again. I truly hope this is a lesson for her in how she treats people. To the sweet cashier and the wonderful woman in the bakery, thank you for being decent human beings--I hope you both have an amazing day.

There is a super nice couple that I see frequently and sometimes a young guy. They're always so friendly to my kids and seem to really appreciate their customers!
