I went in to Harris Teeter Pharmacy on Colonial Avenue in Norfolk, Va. 7/18/22, 250pm. I had a Rx with no refills. I received a text stating that the pharmacy would call my Dr. I went in to the store a few days later to see about this Rx. Clerk at counter said they had nothing on file. She looked once I showed her the text, and she did find a note. I said I just wanted to know if Harris Teeter called the Dr like they said they would, or should I, since it had been a few days. When she asked the pharmacist about the refill, he began complaining LOUDLY about me, "she ain't got refills, wtf?" I told the clerk I could hear him, I then walked to the far side of the counter and told him, "I'm right here, I could hear that." This was incredibly rude and unprofessional. read more

I have been going here for years now and should have written a review long ago. Let me preface, I go to this location because it is convenient and then I am kicking myself when I have a terrible experience, which is often. The management acts as if they are above the customer. Even though they know who I am, very rarely am I greeted with a hello when I come across a manager in the store. And the Deli/Bakery counter - forget about it! They act as if they are doing you a favor. Last year I had to order 30 pizzas. I called on a Saturday at 11 am for pick up on a Monday. at noon - 48 hours in advance. They told me they couldn't do it. Said the dough was frozen. I called the Harris Teeter in Canton and they were more than happy to take my request and they also said it only takes a few hours to thaw the dough. Because of COVID, I was ordering pizza every Monday and you can guess who got my business. Just today I got a sub. I told the deli worker wheat bread and mayo on bread. She made the sandwich and then proceeded to put the mayo on top of the lettuce/tomato. I asked if I could get it on the bread. She gave me this look of irritation, procced to deconstruct my sandwich, put the mayo on the bread and then just slopped it back together. I should have refused to that the nasty mess. The only decent department in this store is the meat department. They are very nice! If I have the extra time, I would rather drive through the tunnel, pay the $6 round trip to go to the other Harris Teeter in Canton on Boston Street just so I can have a nice shopping experience. Stay away from the McHenry Row Harris Teeter store if you need anything specific or expect good customer service. read more

This place is ok, but defininely not worth the high prices. It is considerably higher than Shoppers, and a lot of the stuff is exactly the same. I cook a lot and don't eat many prepared foods, so maybe I don't appreciate rare frozen international specialties, but I do appreciate good meats and produce. Shoppers meat and produce is just fine, in some cases better, actually. The fish at Harris Teeter is better, but it is super high priced and definitely not amazing - better to just get fish at Cross Street Market. What pushes this down to two stars from three or four is some bad produce I got here. Twice. Once bad pre-packaged expensive sweet potatoe cubes, and then bad arugula. So bad I threw both away. I can't remember throwing away food from Shoppers right after I got it, and I shopped there for years. I think I will just stick to Shoppers. read more

One of my favorite grocery stores in Baltimore City. Always a fresh selection of fruits and veggies. Liquor store is next door. What more can you ask for :)? The employees are always friend and very receptive if you have any questions or need help. When there are sales, they're great! Best of all, the produce here is fresh and doesn't go bad as quickly as some other grocery stores. I love the cleanliness of the McHenry Row area and Harries Teeter fits in well with this nice area. It took me several visits to realize that all the beauty supply and first aid like things are located upstairs. Whoops... boy did I feel dumb. I like the selection here - the organic is usually a little riper though, so buy it when you need it. and they have more kombucha selections than whole foods - too bad I started making my own. I'm a newbie to Harris Teeter. But, the buzz from my friends who are familiar was deafening. I stopped by the first night they were open and color me thrilled! The store is gorgeous. Brightly lit and incredibly well stocked. You want yogurt? How about eight different brands? You want locally made cookies? Pick between Berger and Otterbein. Cheese? Como se dice 'manchego'? The best and I mean BEST part for me is that the wine market is connected to the store. And, wait for it, there is a bar in the liqour store. No more corner stores on Friday night because I ran out of wine! Their hot food bar(s) are great. One was themed Asian with dim sum and foodstuffs. There were lots of veggie options to boot. Oh! And fresh bread. Lots and lots of bread. Low carbers, go home. This is not your spot :) Harris Teeter deserves the buzz. It's like Wegman's little brother with the options of Whole Foods with the prices of Giant. Just a warning and my own observation, this is definitely the new 'Social Safeway'. I may just start going in yoga clothes with a bottle of Evian in hand to fit in better. read more

I really wish they would have opened when I lived in the neighborhood, compared to the Shopper's nearby this place is amazing. It reminds me of what good suburban grocery stores are. The produce was well stocked and they had lots of organic options. Many fresh herbs and fruits. Sure there wasn't a lot of local produce but its February so hopefully when more things are in season they will expand those offerings. The only item I had issue finding was ricotta, it was with the sour cream not the other cheeses, but given the packaging that wasn't too hard to figure out. The cashiers knew what all my items were, didn't have to ask what different produce items were which was the most frustrating thing about the Shoppers (you work at a grocery store learn the difference between cucumbers and zucchini!). There is also "the Cellars" which sells beer and wine. Didn't check out the wine but they had a nice selection of craft beer in addition to mainstream stuff. Prices seemed to be pretty average and I would be willing to pay a little more even for the convenience and the fact they can sell on Sundays. read more

So glad Teeter decided to build this new store in Fed Hill/Locust Point. I was a HT shopper for 5 years in Chapel Hill and it's great to have a new one closeby in Baltimore City. Yes, their prices are probably a bit more expensive that Shoppers on average. But, if you do your homework ahead of time and plan accordingly, they do offer a ton of pretty good VIC deals on a weekly basis (ex. buy two get three free Classico pasta sauce this past week). They also sent out two rounds of $10 off $40 coupons to the neighborhood after they opened and are offering $20 credit to your VIC card for EACH prescription (incl. refills) filled at their pharmacy thru March. So yeah, lots of opportunities to knock down those prices. Yes, their organic selection is pretty small and expensive, but if you want a large selection of organic products, you can go to Whole Foods and spend even more (and deal with the hassle of parking/traffic in Harbor East). Overall, this is a NICE store with helpful and efficient employees, a good selection and free covered parking. Even if you decide not to shop there, you can be thankful that Teeter has upped the level of pricing competition in the area (case in point, Shoppers sending out several rounds of $10 off $40 coupons in retailiation). Personally, I don't mind spending an extra few bucks for a nicer shopping environment and the comfort in knowing I won't have to wait 20 minutes in a checkout line. read more

I'm strictly writing this in regards to the food bars available as I''m a regular around the city grabbing a salad or sandwich at a local grocery store. The quality of the salads here and hot items far exceeds that of the other local grocers. Extremely fresh vegetables i.e firm tomatoes and crisp peppers at the salad bar. As far as price, I've seen more expensive (Eddie's) and cheaper (SFW), but the Teet is hard to beat. read more

(06/29/2013) Beautiful, shiny addition to McHenry Row. Parking is a multi-level garage across from the store, turns a little tight to get in, unless coming from Key Highway, driving through the promenade of storefronts and restaurants could be congested at popular times, like Friday and Saturday nights. Have visited Harris Teeter in other states, they're specialty is high-end convenience: great deli, cheese counter, packaged and prepared foods. Love the attached cellar for convenient one-stop shopping. read more

So I think that I found my favorite Market. So my mother told me that they have some awesome sales and soI decided to go today. They had Lobster tails for $2.99. That is the cheapest that I have ever saw them. The sales associates were so nice. I had a few people ask me if I needed any assistance. I had a manager go the extra mile for me and get me some Mint leaves. I loved how they had free samples of cheese, fruit and meat balls around the store. Whenever a store has free samples of food I end up buying more. Also I was looking some flavored voss water for over a year and guess what... They had it there. I was just about to go on Amazon and pay $9.00. I actually went to the Harris Teeter in Silo Point. I am not sure the address. read more

Great supermarket in Baltimore, easily accessible from the interstate and downtown area. Has most of the upscale options you might find at whole foods without the crowd and you can still find the comfort food type things that whole foods doesn't carry. Lots of parking. The pharmacy on the second level makes it a tad less convenient if you are using a cart but the elevators are good enough so its really not that big of a deal. read more

I wouldn't usually review a grocery store because they rarely wow me enough to merit a post. But I just have to give a huge shoutout to Harris Teeter for their amazing customer service. I've been shopping here for myself for awhile and I always enjoy it: the produce is solid (with some fun exotic options!), good bread, and reasonable prices. Plus lots of samples so even if I arrive hungry it's not quite such a torturous experience. I had to order a few party trays for a work event so I decided to go with them. When I went to pick them up it turned out there had been a miscommunication to the seafood dept. and my shrimp tray hadn't been made yet. They apologized profusely, said they would steam my 4 lbs of shrimp then and there, and then gave me the whole shebang ($50 worth of shrimp plus a can of Old Bay) for free! I was flabbergasted. They were so apologetic and nice about the whole thing even though it only resulted in me waiting around for about 15 minutes. I really appreciated them going above and beyond. I will definitely return to them for future events! read more

I admit it. I'm a huge snob. And I truly didn't give this place a fair shot a year ago when I came here. However, I'm beginning to see the error of my ways. I came here while waiting for my husband to finish a 10K race that he was running today; honestly, I didn't want anything other than a restroom at the time. Once I was done, I came out and was overwhelmed by just how BIG the place was - remember, in my previous review, I never got past the front of the store. So, I had some time to kill - so I decided to check it out. I'm shocked by how nicely this place is laid out. Everything refrigerated or frozen is in cold cases that light up as you walk by - no doubt an energy-saving move that's really kind of cool. Wish that Giant would get on board with that. And they really do have a lot more here as far as selection goes, especially organics - I was really pleased to see that there are a lot of diabetic, gluten-free, specialty-type options here. Very cool. I'd come back just for that. Some things in my mind are still not worth it here - meat prices are outrageous, some staples are more than at Giant, etc. But the selection here really is a lot better. The fresh bars are actually kind of nice - still can't get with the "melon bar" concept, sorry, but the fresh salads are out of sight. Really good stuff. So, yeah - I was completely wrong about this place. Luckily, Harris Teeter's employees are forgiving, apparently - I was greeted, asked if I needed help, treated very nicely. I signed up for a VIC card. Hey, what the hell - Giant makes you do it, too. I don't think I'm ready to totally replace Giant altogether, but if I'm in the neighborhood I will DEFINITELY pick up some things here. Recommended! read more

If you have a parking for EV, you are cool to me! I will be driving there to shop while I park my EV for complete charge. There is nothing more to dislike a business who gives back. Your Thursday's special Sirloin Steak was super succulent, tenderly sliced to perfect chew, and the sides of vegetables were sauced with tastefully perfect mixed of spices. Way to go! I got really excited when I saw my first Harris teeter ( my 9 year old and I giggle at that name!) I thought it would be Whole-Foods-ish or Fresh-Market-ish and it is NOT. It is a basic grocery store. Very nice - new(ish) location and ample parking - but not fancy. Decent produce department. Prices seemed on par for an urban grocer. Would be 5 stars if it weren't for the prices. For someone that only shops for meat and produce, I love this place! Great selection and fairly good prices, especially when you catch a good deal. (Recently I got 2 for 1 bags of shrimp.) They have everything from ground pork to bison meat to salmon. Good selection and quick lines. read more

Always had a great experience there. Prices are on par with other places and grocery store. It's always clean and the people are always friendly. The lunch salad bar is great. I go there twice a week. Very reasonably priced and great selection. Not a huge fan of the sushi though. They have daily lung specials at the deli, such as $5 subs on Fridays. read more

Went into Harris Teeter tonight. This was my second time. Went to the self check out, and waited ten minutes for someone to come over and help me. The customets behind me were getting a little annoyed. When i went to the customer service desk the pretty blond was as apathetic as she could be. Unfortunately, by that time i had enough, and left everything there.thete was another person there complaining about the same thing. Very clean store, lousy customer service. read more

Clean, tidy, and well stocked. Easily accessible from downtown Baltimore. About average prices, but look for things on sale. Produce selection is pretty good too considering the "food desert" and lack of easy access to fresh foods in Baltimore. Normally, I wouldn't be leaving a review, but I have to give a shout out to Alice at Customer Service. We had an issue with duplicated items on our bill, and Alice helped us correct this. She had a great attitude and was very apologetic on behalf of the store, even when she didn't do anything wrong herself! Employees like Alice make me want to shop at Harris Teeter over other grocery stores in the area! read more

I like this store. It has a good variety and comparatively good service. The best thing I can say about it is this is one of the few grocery stores that that doesn't require customers to shop essentially three times--picking goods off the shelves, taking them out of the basket and placing them on the conveyer belt, then, in many cases, such as Giant, having to load the bagged groceries back into your cart. Harris Teeter makes you only shop once, and they take care of the rest. The downside, for me is: beer coolers are set at 45 degrees (a far cry from the 33 degrees I set my refrigerator, which means you can't have cold beer immediately): the bananas are mostly overripe--there are rarely green bananas to be found, in spite of their 'bakery,' they have few selections in things like fresh bagels and pastries. read more

This was a great grocery/lunch option when I used to work in McHenry Row. -Very clean and the staff is friendly -The produce is good. I found it to be fresher than my supermarket near my apt in Mt. Vernon that supposedly had produce sourced from this part of Maryland itself. The prices were also lower. -The salad/ Asian food counter is a popular lunch option for people working/living nearby -They have a lunch special section where you get to choose one main course and 2 sides for $5. They keep alternating the options and you're sure to find something out of the 2 dozen bowls on the counter -My favorite lunch option was the sub/sushi/pizza counters. 6 inch make your own subs for $3.50 and foot longs for $6. If you're a frequent customer with a vic card, you accumulate enough points to get a free foot long sub every once in a while. I've tried their subs dozens of times and always went back for their breaded chicken subs. :) read more

My wife went to the Harris Teeter butcher at the Carolina Beach Rd. Location in Wilmington, NC. She asked for 5, thick cut, NY Strip steaks. She asked for them to be marbled. The butcher explained to her that they were all "Reserve Angus" so they would all be marbled. What we got were 5 NY strips with a quarter of an inch of fat through it and NO marbling. Incredibly disappointed and this is not the first time. I spoke with a butcher there and he told me you have to buy steaks with large fat streaks rather than a steak with marbling because they are the juiciest. TRAIN YOUR BUTCHERS!!!!! read more

So this review is based on me being a Couponer. I truly want to five HT a 5+ stars just for doing super doubles four times a year. Let get into what makes the great for a couponer even if it's your first time couponing. At the beginning of a sale the store is freshly stocked and staff are so helpful. The sale items are available (at least the first day) and staff will check the back. Now if it's during super double time you must go early. Like when they open. Since they are stocking the shelves, short people like me have many hands to help reach items on top. It's rare that the item label is wrong. When it's wrong they will honor the lowest price. They also take competitors coupons (etc Giants, Safeway) You are able to use 20 coupons a transaction. (20 coupons total for that day) They have a 3 of the same limit item. But if you coupon says $1 off 2 you are able to use 3 coupons to get same 6 items. I truly like that this location stays clean. The pharmacy is on the second level. Why they can't have 5 stars? Some cashiers show their annoyed look when you hand over your coupons. Funny cause when you get checked out they ask if you have your Harris Teeter card then after they scan items they ask if you have coupons. So I have coupons. Or their small talks turn into "I don't see how one makes time to coupon, with work and all." Like really you don't have time to save? Then when the final total after coupons you hear " Wow I wish I knew how to do that" Not sure if it's me but I found that annoying and I need you (cashier) to be focus in making sure my 20 coupons goes thru with no problems. I know the coupon shows have people believing that people are using a lot of coupons but that not true. read more
