You gotta try the ribeye! Truly delicious. Also, the complimentary rolls and butter were incredible (especially the butter). Our service was wonderful. Outside of the meat and rolls, the other items were just ok. I'd love to see corn bread with honey butter, Mac and cheese and some other yummy sides added. Prices were a little steep, but the overall decor and vibes were wonderful.

Harris Ranch is approximately halfway between Sacramento and Los Angeles on the 5. They now have a wonderful smoked meat shack/ restaurant for dine in or take away. They're known for their Harris Ranch beef, and I can attest, it's pretty darn good. They've recently put in a RV park with hookups too, but their Inn is known to be pretty special. If you're in need of a lunch or dinner that includes beef this is the place.

Although so many times we seen this bill board sign it wasn't until I saw a YouTube vlog. Ironically today we're heading to grapevine and decided to stopped by and here we are. Beautiful inside with traditional designs and very surprisingly many people dining not sure maybe it's weekend? Service was fast since we only ordered sandwiches Food good portion my beans tasted good with bacons and the sweet potatoes crispy yummy. Hopefully next time will be able to grab breakfast.

The filets in their meat case. Inside the gift shop is a large meat counter with all cuts of beautiful beef.

We love to stop here on trips back and forth to NorCal. Today I bought five gorgeous filet mignon for our holiday celebration. The entire family is excited for Harris Ranch Beef. It's a real treat. Pricey, but when you buy beef at Costco it gets pricey also. There is a full case of a large selection of beef in their gift shop. They even pack the beef in ice for you to carry home. They know customers are usually a few hours from home. No charge for packing in ice. My husband had a burger in their restaurant. It came with big thick Curley fries. They do have quality food here. I love their gift shop and rarely leave without buying something. We go into the restaurant and gift shop if we are in no hurry and feel like relaxing a bit on our travels. Otherwise, we stop at the Harris Ranch BBQ take out spot across the street at the Shell gas stations. Excellent tri tip sandwiches and salads. I have stayed at the Harris Ranch hotel also, and it is dog friendly. Very comfortable.

stopped in on my way from San Diego to San Francisco. Got seated right away- on Thanksgiving none the less. Excellent hostess and dining room server. Delicious and my steak was cooked to perfection- rare-medium rare. Delicious baked potato and carrots and broccoli- crisp and not mushy. Great acoustics. Very comfortable chairs on the high top tables

We had read that they accommodated a lot of RVs and people with U-Haul's, etc., so felt safe staying there for the night. Checked in about 9 PM. Everybody was super helpful. We have our cats with us so we were a little stressed out about how it was going to be, but they made sure that we were comfortable and we were in a really nice, large and clean room. I did think that the property is a little bit dated. They've done a good job with upkeep. The only issue I really had was that when I got out of my car there was a very strong animal smell. I asked at the front desk with that smell was, and they said that it was fertilizer that they applied to the fields that night. It was intense. We got up and we're back on the road by 5 AM. Unfortunately we did not get to try the restaurant although I heard that their steakhouse is excellent. Also, the pool looked really beautiful and clean.

Made a pit stop here at Harris Ranch Resort because we have always been curious about this place…read moreand wanted to eat some steaks from the source. Since it's right next to Interstate 5, it is very convenient for t9ad trips doen California. When I initially looked up the restaurant, I was a bit confused because online it seems that they have 4 different restaurants, and I wasn't sure where they are all located. But we just went and followed the signs that said "Restaurant." When we walked in the main entrance, the first thing we saw was the Country Store. To the right is the Horseshoe Lounge, the Prime Steakhouse in the middle, and Ranch Kitchen is towards the end. I think they also have a barbecue restaurant, but in a separate building. This place is massive. We decided to dine at Ranch Kitchen, where there was a huge group of people sitting right outside. I originally thought they were waiting for a table, but they were all just there for the restroom since this seems to be the place to be for pit stops down I-5. It was around 6 PM on Monday, and we got seated pretty quickly. We ordered the 14 oz. Choice Ribeye (medium rare) and the Country Fried Steak. Both included either baked potatoes or mashed potatoes (we opted for baked) and broccoli and carrots. The ribeye also included either a soup or salad, but given the current scare with the lettuce parasite, I opted for the clam chowder. They start you out with hot bread rolls and some salted whipped butter. The ribeye was very tender and delicious. It was well-seasoned and does not need steak sauce or anything. The country fried steak was quite tasty and comes with a massive amount of gravy, the way I like it. Overall, this was a great stop with great food. The service was amazing and the waiter was very attentive. This will definitely be a regular pit stop of ours.

We first asked her if they have any seafood choices, to which she said "no". Then we asked for a menu, and literally the first thing on the menu was a Salmon salad. We ordered that and a few more dishes and a hot tea. She rolled her eyes at us every time we asked about the dressing on the side or a substitute for a side. And then we asked for a cup of hot tea, and she hands us a clear plastic cup. I told her it would melt and she looked at me with such attitude, as if I said something offensive or inappropriate. She kept huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes. We ended up canceling the whole order and leaving. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or if there's lack of training, but it was very disappointing.

The bakery is part of the country store, which sells such random housewares and souvenir-type stuff. They have a chocolate truffle case on one side and the other side, the pastries and desserts. The pastries looked delicious and I got a few to try. They also have bags of day-old cookies for a good price. Eclair 4/5* I'm not a huge fan of eclairs with the soft fudge on top instead of the hardened chocolate. Taste wise though, it was a good eclair. The cream isn't overly sweet and the eclair itself was a light dough. Napoleon 5/5* If there's something Harris bakery does right, it's flaky pastries. Surprisingly, this Napoleon stayed crispy the entire drive home and survive even in the refrigerator the next day. Many others I've had usually get soggy, but these layers of puff pastry stayed crisp to the end of every last bite. The cream was fluffy and not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the ripe strawberries. Banana Cream Pie 3/5* I love anything banana and just had to get it when my eyes landed on the perfect swirl of whip cream covered in chunks of buttery crumbles, atop a neat little mini pie. However, the pie itself was too mushy. The crust was soggy, with the smoothness of the banana cream, soft banana slices, and rich whip cream, everything combined was too much mush. It was also too sweet. I did enjoy the crumble on top though. That was the only saving texture. Strawberry Cream Horn 5/5* Wow these were so unexpectedly delicious! The horn is super flaky and delicate, filled from end to end with a light strawberry cream. On top, bits of dehydrated strawberries were not only beautiful but added a nice tartness and texture, contrasting with the silky cream. This was a great upgrade on your classic cream horn. Chocolate Chip Cookies with Walnuts 3/5* Nothing special. They tasted better the longer they sat out because they were crisper. I prefer my cookies to have sea salt for that good balance of salty and sweet, but these cookies were just one noted. Next time, I have my eyes set on this towering cake they had on the counter and of course, take home some of those yummy cream horns.

It feels like our home away from home as we go back and forth from Northern California and to visit our family in Orange County. We always LOVED seeing the store and its unique gifts that filled the entire place. For some time, there looks to be maybe a quarter of what they used to have. So sad... I used to come and find a lot of my Christmas gifts for people during the holidays. This past Christmas, I went in and the place looked desolate. I was confused and wondered if I missed it all? I don't know if Harris Ranch is not doing well, but it really looks like they're struggling if you look at the empty feel of the store. We just left the shop now on our way back down to Southern California and once again shocked and highly disappointment. It was bad.. I really hope that whatever happening there gets better so that the store can return to the gorgeous shop that it once was.

They even have an ice cream shop, which is a nice bonus. The place is definitely showing its age, though. It looks pretty run down and about half the games and machines seem to be out of order. It's got a little less "Wild West attraction" and a little more "Wild West went out of business." The beer selection? Let's just say you won't get overwhelmed by choices. Then came the BBQ... somebody needs to check on that tri-tip because that thing was THIRSTY. Dry as hell and not much going on flavor-wise. Bring water for yourself AND the tri-tip. And the coleslaw... WHERE WAS IT?! I opened the container expecting coleslaw and got what looked like a tiny cabbage salad that had lost its will to live. No creaminess, barely any flavor, just a few vegetables having a meeting. The crispy fries actually showed up ready to work. Probably the MVP of the meal. Overall, it's a cool tourist stop with a lot to see, an ice cream shop, and a fun Wild West vibe. Stay for the fries and ice cream--just don't expect all the games to work or the tri-tip to have any moisture left in it.

The section had larger tables but more communication from the person handling our table would have gone a long wait. From the point being seated, it took an hour to get our meal. We got no dinners rolls and our soup came with our meal. At the point of ordering we asked if the soup could be up-charged from cup to bowl and we were told yes. They instead charge us full price of a bowl instead of it being an up-charge (4 dollars vs 10). This should have been upfront and communicated. Disappointing experience and lot of the staffers were just chit chatting by the coffee station. Food for two adults and kids over 100 dollars was not worth it. We will not be returning.
