This is the place we would go every time we traveled from San Jose back to LA. The Harris Ranch is famous for their high quality steak. The Harris resort, restaurant and cute local American style store are such a gem in the local. Highly recommend visiting this Restaurant in the holiday season, you may enjoy the high quality meal and jollable holiday vibe. My friend order the 14 oz ribeye and I ordered 8oz filet mignon. It is a three course set. Soup(or Salad), bread and main course with two sides. The serve of the food matches the volume as it describe on the meau. It is quite a lot for girl. The chef or the culinary staff is expert on steak grilling. The crust of Filet mignon tastes caramel crunch. The inner of Filet mignon is perfectly soft tender. When you bite it, you still can feel the texture but not raw. It is warm and flavored tender. We enjoyed our dinner at regular restaurant. They also have the high end restaurant in the same building which combine with a classic drink bar.(adult only) if you would like to have a full experience of the premium steak paired with wine. You may have it in the same place. And of course, if you would like to bring the high quality raw beef back home and cook for your family they have another butcher in the gift shop. read more

Harris Ranch Restaurant today after church for Easter Dinner. We dined in the coffee shop or what they used to call the coffee shop. Judging by the menu it was obvious that the menu has been revised to highlight their more expensive selections. For that matter, ALL of their selections, I believe, can be called expensive. Our meals were delicious. My wife selected the filet mignon with soup (clam chowder). I selected the rib eye steak with garden salad. All delicious. Steaks were tender, and although I could not identify mine as a rib eye, it was delicious nonetheless the less. The portions were generous- about half of each of our meals went home with us. The only negative on the meal was my coffee. I like strong black coffee. This coffee was so strong, and quite bitter also, that I asked for,and graciously received, a cup of hot water to dilute it. Even so. It still was barely drinkable and I didn't finish one cup. Not wanting to hurt the moment, I said no more about it. The service was good and sufficient. The ambiance makes one feel that they are in somewhere special. The return soon feeling was not there, but I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Harris Ranch Inn is a unique stay between Los Angeles and the Bay Area. It is rich in history and even richer in their farm to table beef that is raised organically in the surrounding areas. The hotel was simple, yet perfect for a little road trip getaway. I would use the word rustic, but also note that it could use a little facelift when it comes to the guest rooms. Our hallway had a weird dusty smell and the elevators were very creaky to the point where I felt a bit nervous. The pool was very nice and we loved the swim up bar! Staff were all very kind and the fresh baked cookies upon arrival are a great touch. One of my favorite things about this resort was the country store. Wow, they had some truly fantastic items there! I was extremely impressed. Plus the bakery is something I'm truly missing since leaving. Every item we tried was mouth wateringly delicious! The next time I'm in the area, I'll be sure to make a stop to try out the BBQ spot next to the gas station on the property. They actually smoke the meat on site and I heard they have great Mac n cheese. read more

I was recently stuck on the 5 freeway for 4 hours due to a truck fire on my way to Nor Cal. It was too late to drive the rest of the way so I called to make a reservation for one night. When I called the young woman I spoke to told me she couldn't find my name. She kept asking me to repeat it when I told her for the THIRD time I was trying to make a reservation, not look one up. She finally understood, and booked the room. Upon arrival it was dark and the signage isn't adequate to find the lobby if it's your first time there. It took me a bit to find it (which is all the way at the back of the property). I checked in and got to my room. As a woman traveling alone, one deadbolt on the door that can be opened with a master key is not sufficient at all, so I moved the bed over in front of the door. Good thing I did because at 10:00 am the next morning someone attempted to open the door. They didn't announce themselves, just tried to open the door, which woke me up. I yelled and held the door closed and they went away. With checkout not being until noon, I don't know why they were attempting to enter my room 2 hours prior to checkout time. The least they could do is get a list of people who've checked out instead of disrupting guests who are still asleep. The room itself was very spacious and clean but the lack out of outlets was an issue. The only outlet near the bed was literally behind it. If I hadn't moved the bed I would have never found it, which is ridiculous. Would I stay here again? Possibly if I were in a bind like this time, but I'd bring an extension cord and a portable door lock. read more

Mother's Day Brunch. 2026. Menu was not near as good in previous years. For 2 people with tip $210 20% tip was added on. They picked up our plates as we finished them. But water glass or ice tea was never refilled. Had to go ask for a cup of Coffee. Salmon was over cooked and dry, same with Chicken. Thin sliced Steak was good but lacked flavor. Shrimp was good ,after they put out the cocktail sauce. There were other things that were over cooked or flavor less. Not Impressed ! All in All, way over priced for what you got . Great room, delicious steak, awesome pool. We enjoyed all three. We go to Vegas often but when we can't this is our get away. You cannot beat the steak. Portions are huge so sharing is a good idea. This time I had the Ribeye steak and the clam chowder as a side. The steak was perfectly grilled and salty. The clam chowder was chunky and delicious. We enjoyed drinks by the pool and the bartender was very friendly. Our room was so comfy. The mattress and pillows were just right. The entire room was large, clean and inviting. We've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed it. We are here tonight. But I have to admit, there are changes that make me think something is happening. I notice that the gift shop has pulled back tremendously on merchandise. The personnel is not friendly and helpful. I used to always make purchases on unique dishes, collectibles, etc. They have very few things now. The steak house is only opened a few nights each week. I went to the bar/lounge restaurant today and had to ask the hostess to send a waitress after waiting quite some time. They didn't even notice me needing a menu. Regarding the hotel accommodations, you're still paying the price, but they don't even provide you with a bottle of water. What hotel does that!?! I even called about getting some as we had it in our room last week. But in calling the front desk tonight, the gal said they don't provide water in this particular building. There was no offer to bring us some or mention as to where we could get some. No friendliness or help. Hmm.... It feels like they might be getting ready to go out of business. Such a great place in the past, but I can't say I'd recommend it anymore. Update: Hi Brittany, Thank you for your prompt reply. I did return to the gift shop yesterday and had a very nice visit with the manager there. She mentioned also that it wasn't a matter of going out of business. Also, my husband and I discussed it and have noted that we will simply book our room in the building we were in last week when we return in the future. Whether you are driving between the Bay Area and Los Angeles, or are looking for a weekend getaway at a nice hotel with a large heated pool and 3 hot tubs, this is the best place in the center of California. Let's start with the rooms. The rooms are well appointed with all of the amenities you need to either relax or work. They have fast wireless internet and huge beds with huge bathrooms. I was in a regular room and my parents were in a suite. Their suite was only $20 more and was twice the size of my room, so getting a suite is worth the upgrade. What really impressed me was how quiet and peaceful everything felt, even though the hotel is just off the highway. I loved relaxing at the large heated pool, ordering drinks at the bar, and sitting in the hot tub. There are also four places to eat: the steakhouse, the casual restaurant, the lounge, and the BBQ stop. I would eat at all of them if I could, but we usually go to the casual restaurant. The wedge salad and the liver with onions are a family favorite. But the steaks are amazing! Overall, Harris Ranch is amazing. This is normally our favorite hotel stop on the way to So. Cal. We always book a suite, enjoy the pool, steak house, gift shop, etc. However, this year I decided to take the family here for Thanksgiving. It shocks me that hotel guest cannot get a reservation at the Steak House. When you call you get a rude front desk person who transfers you to a voicemail. I left 3 voicemails to receive a call back 2 day slater saying the reservations are booked and I can order take out. I called today to try to do that (day before Thanksgiving) and was now told they do NOT do that. Only the Ranch Kitchen does take out. Does anybody answer the phone there??? Of course not. Very bad experience. I was told the wrong information and no apology or anything. I thought this would be a very nice getaway for a holiday, but I am regretting it. Perhaps your occupancy would rise if you only allowed steak house reservations to hotel guests who pay a premium to stay at your hotel and not have to order take out for their holiday experience. Now I am reading reviews about BED BUGS. Not excited at all about tomorrow and the money I spent on our room. On another note, a few summers ago we went during the summer, and it appeared that they now let locals use the pool. It was very ghetto and not safe for kids. Drinks in the pool, foul language, not enough towels to go around. They had security at the pool for drunk people and fights. Please do better Harris Ranch! read more

Hubby and I have been staying at the Harris Ranch Inn and eating their delicious beef in the restaurant for over 25 years now. It's the perfect affordable overnight oasis to break up your drive from Southern California to Northern California. The rooms are large and comfortable and well appointed....Bonus if you are able to snag a room overlooking the beautiful pool and Jacuzzi! Parking is ample, there is a gas station & tons of spots to charge your electric vehicle as well. They are also getting close to completing their RV park . You can walk in the adjoining almond orchards and pets are also welcome. The restaurant is a do not miss. The tender fillets and ribeyes never disappoint along with their delicious salads, breads, cookies, and great bar. They also have a very nice gift shop btw. Yes, there are certain times of the year & certain wind/ weather conditions when the cow smell is more intense but for some reason, it never seems to bother us. We always leave with a big smile on our face and some of that delicious Harris ranch beef to go. read more

For over 15 years we have stopped here in our RV and had dinner. We stay in our RV by the dog park. This time we stopped on our way down, spent $200 at dinner, tipped our waitress $50, and went to sleep in our RV. A security guard asked we not park by the dog park but against the hedges. We complied. When we came back thru 3 days later we were told we could only park behind the gas station in the dirt with no shade by I5. The dog park was at the opposite end of property. Husband was so insulted we kept driving. Too bad. Now we wint spend another $200 and may never be back. Sad. read more

Recently stayed at Harris Ranch for a weekend getaway from the Bay Area. PROS: Resort and room were super clean and well maintained. All staff were super nice, professional and warm especially the young gentleman at the hotel front desk. The price of the room was super reasonable. CONS: The drinks and food were crazy overpriced! Lobster tail for $74 hamburger for $30. Cocktails are $18 The bartenders at the pool barley filled the jigger to the top. We went to the Tachi Palace casino for their Friday night seafood buffet for $50 and had all you eat snow crab amazing prime rib and jumbo shrimp. You also get a 10oz lobster tail. Also, most strong call drinks are $7!!! Would probably return to stay and swim in the amazing pool but would not dine or drink. read more

This ain't the Ritz but compared to the local competition, they could be. It's in the town of Coalinga, CA, right off Interstate 5. Reasonable rates, secure location, comfortable and clean room, and resort style swimming pool. All my previous stays, which all occurred before COVID struck, have been great. My past stay was also relaxing and enjoyable. Upon checkin, as usually we were given complimentary Harris Ranch fresh baked cookies from their bakery. Yum! They have patrolling security for the parking lot and premises. The hallways are card key secured. The checkout time is noon, which is great. It gives you more time to sleep in or grab breakfast at the restaurant which is just across the parking lot or hang out at the pool. Heck, I did all 3. The swimming pool is huge. There are a lot of seating with sun umbrellas around the pool area. The room air conditioning worked like a champ, which was sure needed in the triple digit summer heat in the Central Volley. The rooms come equipped with a mini frig, Kcup coffee machine, coffee mugs, wine glasses, vinyl recliner, TV, side table and chairs. That side table sure comes in handy especially when you room service. The room doesn't come with a microwave, but you can request for one. I did. The room cleanliness has always been great. However on my past visit, there were a couple of pee pee stains on the front facing toilet base and some dark hairs on the towel shelves in the bathroom. Ooops. Remember it's Harris Ranch and their cattle production is just a few miles away, so you may be able to faintly smell a bit of that while you're out n about ion the premises. read more

I really wanted to love this place. When we first got here we were in awe of the property. It's beautiful, but over time we realized how bad it was. Wifi barely worked, so many flies in the room, and the room wasn't clean. Shower was great though. I drove up to this place just for the BBQ Beef Ribs and the sides are really good too. The BBQ place is located inside the shell gas station they also own. It is called BBQ Express and you will usually find a line of people waiting to order up their bbq. They also have outdoor seating. I have stayed at this place a few times . This is my stop over for either making the drive up to Redding, CA. or making the drive back home. This place also besides having really great BBQ RIBS they also have really good Brisket and they have two different types of bbq sauce, one is sweet tasting and the other is a bit spicy, but both are really good. The Beef ribs are large in size and the meat just comes off easy. This place also has three other restaurants and you can also buy the meat separately. This place also has its own air strip so if you want you can fly your plane here. This place also has Tesla charging area and regular EV chargers. They even have Hydrogen fuel here. This place has a very large swimming pool and three large spas. This place is getting ready to have an RV park. This Harris Beef ranch owns about 17 square miles of ranch and farming and just north of this restaurant they have a huge stock yard of cattle. This place is famous for their meat and it is sold in most grocery stores in California and maybe other places too. This place has roving security guards constantly driving around making sure everything is okay. I highly recommend this place, to eat here at one of the four locations that serves food and also to stay here as well just to relax. read more

I've been visiting Harris Ranch since I was a kid. We came this summer to get away from the Bay Area and enjoy the pool. The hotel is nice. The rooms are big, the grounds are well kept, and the staff members are friendly. The pool was pretty well packed all the time (we were there in July/August). The hotel is certainly in the middle of nowhere but Hanford is only about 40 minutes (or so) down the road. It's a nice town to visit. If you don't mind the smell of cow manure, this is an excellent little I-5 resort. read more

We stayed her for the first time on 12/23/2023. I booked a dog friendly room with two queen beds. It was located on the ground floor, spacious, and very clean. No prior odors from other doggie guests. We provided our own dog bedding (a travel kennel that our dog adores), and our dog's water and food dish. I am glad I brought those items with us because there wasn't anything provided for a dog in the room. Our stay at Harris Ranch Resort was short but nice. I grew up driving past Harris ranch, and only eating there once as a kid. As an adult, my partner and I decided to stay there on the way up to Santa Rosa. The hotel is a bit dated in decor and definitely giving Central Valley country chic line from JC Penney's. The room was clean and large (we opted for the executive suite). The AC worked well and the property was well maintained on the outside. The landscaping looked great. The restaurant was pretty terrible. All of the food tasted like it had come from a freezer, and had little to no flavor. We felt like a restaurant smack dab in the middle of agriculture central that the vegetables would at least be fresh. Nope. Mushy and probably from frozen. I'd likely stay at the hotel again, but not eat at their property. read more

This is a great resort! I've visited many times and highly recommend everything from the accommodations to the restaurants. The grounds are beautiful with several jacuzzis scattered on the hotel grounds. Really good food and service. I'm thrilled that my friend found it. Yes, this place ain't the Ritz, but is more than adequate for the typical overnight traveler staying here. It's doubtful anyone stays more than a night here. Rates are reasonable, rooms are clean, and kinda reminds me of Embassy Suites room layout. Free parking to boot. Best thing is you can just walk over to Harris Ranch restaurant and have a bite and just stumble into your room if you had a few too many. This place is a great stopover between the SF/LA drives. We'll probably stop/stay here now that we discovered this place. We used to do Kettleman, but it's so busy there and get tired of the fast food options. Another plus, they have a bunch of EV chargers. Not just Tesla, but for others too. read more

After a 5 hour drive we needed to stop for the night somewhere and just so happened to come across this location. The front desk was friendly and even offered a military discount which is definitely a plus. We are a party of 6 and the room fit all of us, with room to spare. Room was clean , amenities were great. Wish we would checked in earlier so we could have enjoyed the amenities fully. Bedding was clean and comfortable. Starting off teacher summer vacation with a little get away for some excellent steak. Yes, it smells like cow manure here. The smell switches from nonthing to a whole lot of something depending on which way the wind is blowing. Ignore that situation and just enjoy it for what it is. A resort in the middle of the central valley where you can go and sit by a pool, order a drink and relax. We opted for a deluxe queen size room with a balcony. The room was spacious, had air conditioning, and a mini fridge. There was also a keurig machine specially made for Harris Ranch Inn and actually made a really nice cup of coffee. The towels are clean and fluffy. The mattress was firm and soft with plenty of fluffy pillows. Ice machines were plentiful also. Upon check in you receive cookies which were so good I ended up purchasing a dozen at the general store before leaving. The pool area is a fun place to hange out and relax. Plenty of towels and 3 jacuzzi's on site. I stayed in the shade the whole time under the umbrellas which are plentiful in the pool area. Wear your wrist band to ensure the one security guard knows you are a guest at the inn. I wouldn't stay more than two nights because of the smell, but come for the steaks! Amazing and worth it! Came by to use the Tesla supercharger on my way back from a road trip. First, this place has one of the best superchargers ever- super fast charging and relatively cheaper with no crowds of vehicles. As a bonus, we discovered the amazing ranch and the restaurant facilities. We chose the express restaurant outside as it was quicker and had outdoor seating. The food tasted nice, portions were generous and moderately priced. The rest rooms were nearby and clean. The grocery store has a good collection of food there too. Will definitely visit next time we travel around here. read more
