I love this place! When it's time to relax and disconnect, this is the place we head to. We visit Harris Ranch about 4-5 times a year and are never disappointed. It's quiet and peaceful, relaxing and I get to pack board games, dips and drinks, and make it a fun family time. No phones allowed, only a little wine, games, pool and jacuzzi. Love it! read more

I've stayed here several times before but always forgot about putting in a review. But each time the experience was always great. The staff while checking in/ out have always been welcoming and professional. The rooms are consistently clean and presentable. Always a good feeling after being on the road for several hours. The food is always good and many selections to choose from. During my recent stay, I decided to get a double cheeseburger, sweet potato fries and a Nectarine Blueberry cobbler for dessert. The burger was well made and seasoned just right as well as the fries. The cobbler was a great tasty combination that I never tried. Overall a great dinner after hours on the road. Definitely will return and try more food options; maybe a steak next time. read more

Our SUV broke down on our way from Las Vegas to Sacramento. We had a medical emergency with our 9 month old. When I tell you they went above and beyond they really did. They got us EMT, paramedics and got us to the hospital. They let us check out late and were extremely accommodating. The security guy was fabulous. The rooms were nicer than the Luxor in Las Vegas. Will come back when we are feeling better. read more

My wife and I enjoyed a meal at this fine establishment period it was beautifully decorated for the Christmas season also! Our servers were prompt and attentive, and our meals came quickly and were delicious. We enjoyed a ribeye, burger and fries and salad as well as a bowl of their delicious butternut, squash, soup and salad. Their menu is vast with many cuts of beef, and the pricing seems very fair period the servings are enormous too. The booth was roomy and comfortable, and the decor is very rustic Americana, so there is a lot to see and look at period I highly recommend this restaurant They also happen to have a wonderful gift shop that changes seasonally with the wide variety of offerings period. You can also order up some fresh cuts of beef and they prepare them with dry ice and a cooler for you to take with you. Always a wonderful place to stop by at the half way point when i travel to Southern Ca. It's been a family tradition! The restaurant has a great menu and delicious food! The bakery and store in the lobby has the cutest nick nacks and things you would not find at a regular store. The pastries at the bakery are the best especially the macaroons as well as the fruit yougurt cups and custard filled pastries! Most of all i luv the country feel, decor and atmosphere. Nice place to spend some R&R time, the grounds are beautiful, you can even go for a stroll around, provided in the summer with 95F+ the wind doesn't blow your way , then you will enjoy it a lot!! I have stayed at this hotel many times in all areas, every time a great experience. Now I know the best area to stay is triple crown or the poolside areas, rooms are spacious, with work desk and chair, bathrooms with walk-in showers and good toiletries, in room coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge, the beds are so comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi area has towels on location. When checking in, you get 2 cookies and in the mornings complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby. read more

I had the worst French Dip Sandwich ever in my life (65 years old); the Meat was not Rib Eye as advertised on the menu and must have been sitting under a heat lamp in the kitchen for 2-3 days. All these years driving up and down Hwy 5 to go to Disneyland or San Diego or LA, and I had no idea Harris Ranch had a hotel! My daughter and I were pulling a 24 hour to LA and back, so we stopped for, basically, a NAP at Harris Ranch. Considering the location , I felt like it was way too expensive. That said, it kinda had a nice cozy feel in the lobby, and the person working there when we arrived at 10 pm was nice...and she gave us free almonds. When we got up at 2:45am to head home (ugh! Painful!) the lobby was locked and there was nobody working. I really kinda wanted lobby coffee, but we were forced to make the worst coffee ever in the room. The bed was comfortable but super old fashioned and there was a bug in the room (am I being too picky?) If I had more time to make a choice, I would've stayed at he best western because it was probably less expensive and it's a pretty reliable "cheap" hotel. I think Harris Ranch thinks it's a little fancier than it is. Either way, we got sleep, and it wasn't too bad. I'm just dying that I spent a night in Coalinga. You kinda have to be desperate to stay the night there, and that's what we were. Thanks Harris Ranch for offering us a comfy bed for a few hours! The restaurant isn't too bad btw. Best way to describe this complex is a green Oasis in the middle of a semi/desert/farmland. Totally unexpected off I-5, with restaurants, pools, a store, and a hotel. Here are more details:- If you need to stay the night or weekend, this is definitely the best spot within a ~100 mile radius, that's me eye balling it. It's like an apartment complex, with multiple buildings, with a large heated pool in the center, with palm trees, and well groomed landscape throughout. Here are the Pros: -My room was very clean, carpet, bedding, bathroom, and furniture. -Central cooling, that's a big one for me as I don't like the loud window type AC. -Room service, Marriott's don't offer that. -Plenty space for Parking surrounding the buildings. -Friendly and professional staff throughout, reception, restaurant, and bar. The cons hence the 4 vs 5 stars:- -You smell COW almost every day, there is a some breeding facility close by, and no escaping it. The smell is only outdoors for he record. -It is a ranch style Inn so country style everything including the MUSIC, only country music day and night...ugh. -Cost is high for room rate, but i appreciate what you get in return. Food is also costly, but again, good quality in return. I do recommend this place if you are working nearby, or passing through, just don't forget to bring an air fresher just in case :). read more

I have amazing memories of Harris Ranch. I've been stopping in for 30+ years. Just earlier this month my wife and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend there. After last night, I'm not sure I'll be going back. I checked in after a long drive, dropped my bags in the room (I saw and killed a mosquito) and then went to the restaurant for dinner. When I came back, I noticed another mosquito on the wall. Then another. Then ten of them. Still more on the ceiling. I called the desk and spoke to a supervisor, Jasmine. She said she'd send someone to spray my room with pesticides. While waiting for the maintenance man, I noticed that my bathroom was also infested with drain flies. They were in the sink, all over the counter, crawling in the towels. At this point I felt the room was unsanitary and requested a change. Apparently the hotel was booked full, (weird for a Thursday night in the middle of the Central Valley). I told Jasmine I wouldn't be staying, and wanted a refund. Her response was a flat "OK." At no point was there any gesture of apology, any acknowledgment of the inconvenience or disgusting conditions. When I expressed my irritation at the desk, Jasmine responded with smug, almost aggressive boredom, condescending "mm-hmm's", and gaslighting: she suggested I was somehow being unreasonable, as surely there had never been complaints about bugs until now (there are numerous Google reviews showing photos of flies and bites). The infested room I could have gotten over. I could have looked past the 3 hour drive to LA in the middle of the night. But the obnoxious attitude, the smugness, and the disinterest shown by Jasmine will keep me from coming back to a place I have enjoyed for years. If Harris not only tolerates this behavior from its staff but rewards it with supervisor positions, then their business culture is one I don't want to associate with. read more

I wish I could put 4.5 but it doesn't exist. On a road trip and this was the last place we stayed so we had some real lousy places to compare it with. First of all everyone seems to enjoy their jobs. They are friendly. I didn't ask but did get an ADA room which was perfect. That came in handy for my friend. We loved the pool and the room was spacious. I loved the shower which was ADA friendly and I wasn't sure I would. The air conditioner worked. YAY! It's hot in August. It had been high 90's to 104 everywhere we went so that mattered. It was clean and comfortable and the curtains really did block out the sun because I overslept but then, it was the last day of the road trip and I was beat. We did eat at the steakhouse and we did visit the gift shop. Both were enjoyed by us very much. Wish it was closer cause I think I would like to go back. :) read more

Very noisy hotel. No carpet in rooms or hallways so you can hear EVERYTHING!!!! Couldn't sleep from the noise and then after about 3 hours of sleep could hear everything in the hallway at around 8AM. People yelling in Spanish sounded like they were in our room. Food was really good in the restaurant but the room was too big and hard to navigate at night. Never again. read more

The pro's: This spot has a great pool, you can bring your own ice chest with drinks and alcohol that are not in glass containers, and you get cookies on check in. Cons: We had bed bugs on one of our beds. initially on our first night and morning, we thought it was maybe a mosquito bite, but none of my other friends had bite marks. Then, the second night, I began to itch even more and then work up with more bites on the left side and middle abdomen area, one on my right thigh, and one on my foot. After reporting our concern to management, they denied they found any bed bugs in the room on their investigation. I was the only one who had bites and had my own bed, my two other friends slept in the other bed and had no bites. We googled bed bug bite images and they were spot on the same characteristics in color, size and markings. Please check your room when you get there with a UV light if you have one and make sure the room dark when you do your inspection. read more

I had the worst experience of my life. I can not believe staff would talk back and intimidate a 62 year old great-grandmother. But it happened because I tried to get seating for 7 adults & 1 child. I was told it would have to be 2 tables which was fine. But it was a complete mess. The tables were on opposite sides of the room. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, Joecely brought the wrong one out & I told her. Well that started the verbal confrontation between me ( customer, who is always right) and Joecely. I felt verbally threatened and had to be spoken to by a hostess who has no right to talk back to me or make me feel like I had to defend myself. All this happened on 10/24/2020 @ approximately 1730 hrs. , , my granddaughter just got married so I thought the Best place I could take her & her new husband was Harris Ranch, boy was I wrong. I even called a few days beforehand to order their famous cheesecake. I wanted to make it special but I was so upset I didn't even enjoy my evening. My family and I stayed here for Mothers Day weekend and we brought our dog. The rooms for spacey, clean and very pretty. We had a patio with sliding doors that viewed the gorgeous pool area. The staff were helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Customer service was beyond what was expected. I had an excellent first impression with Fatima and Victor but all of the staff were happy to help. Very disappointed with Room Service... we called to order our food. I always start the conversation with "hi, this is... in room ##...Young lady proceeded to take order and said, it will be 10mins... I thought (it should take longer to get my steak out of the refrigerator) we called after an hour of no food delivery. The young lady indicated, there had been a mistake in my rm# and it was delivered back to the kitchen. She said, it would be up in another 10 mins... after 15mins I called back, young lady again, said, "they just took orders to be delivered". Finally after 1.20 our food arrived cold... very disappointing We decided to walk to the restaurant and eat outside... staff was very accommodating and professional... Never again....offensive service and over priced / low quality food. When I arrived, lady led us to a table that clearly needed cleaning. There was food drippings all over the table that's been left over from previous customer. Yet without cleaning, actress started putting napkins and utensils on the table. I asked her to clean the table before putting utensils on the table ...she peer at the dirty table and said 'I'll clean later' and continue to put utensils on the table. I ask her again to clean the table PLEASE before putting utensils on the table. She gave me a dirty look and left. No one showed up again for good ten minutes. I went to look for help and found a waitress and a waiter chatting. I asked for a menu and they told me to get back to my table as if I was a child. At this point, I should have walked out....but I read good things about their food on yelp so I stayed. We ordered wedged salad with dressing on the side and beef dip sandwich. Of course the salad came drenched in dressing rather than on the side like I asked. I complained to the waiter and he brought another one. Without dressing, salad was so salty with blue cheese and bacon bites that I simply could not eat. Lettuce was also half brown. Sandwich was better but it certainly was not worth 26 bucks. For a place that advertises itself as a beef place, beef certainly was not of good quality. Bread was also some cheap quality you'll find at 7 eleven. Best was...the Coca Cola in a can. read more

This place gets negative stars from me. My company has given them a ton of business in the past and I have always had issues getting receipts from them. I had a charge on my card since March and reached out to them several times and they never responded to my calls or emails. I called and spoke with the manager of their accounting department this morning and told him I had no choice but to dispute the charge and have my bank reverse the charges because no one could provide a receipt. He said okay. I said you don't see any issues with that, he Nope and hung up on me. This hotel needs new accounting people and I have warned my coworkers to avoid this place if possible. read more

It would seem that this has every reason not to be great. It is in the middle of nowhere, it is a working ranch, there is the smell of a ranch in the air. That being said, none of that matters. If you are a person that is happy to pay for quality this is a great find. The food, service, rooms, pool, environment is all first class. Maybe not the Ritz-Carlton but not far off for far less money. If you want a place that serves cold food with bad service, starts banging on walls at 7am, weed blowers at 7:45 and has someone in the office taking so loudly it echos in your room, this is your place. However, if you want good food at a reasonable price and a good night sleep, go far from here because it won't happen in this place. Last time we stayed here the lead blowers started at 7:30 and they told us it was a fluke. I guess it was supposed to be 7:45. The desk people and others you can interact with are like lifeless maniquins that just stare with blank eyes and no managers to be found. My husband and I decided to stop and stay at the Inn for one night on our drive up to Napa. I was honestly a bit worried, because we like to stay in nice 4 or 5 star hotels. We got a two bedroom suite for only $189 for the night with our AAA discount, so I wasn't expecting much. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised - it was lovely! The chairs in the front room were super comfy, the bed and sheets were nice, and the room was immaculately clean. The only complaints I have are that our balcony overlooked the pool, which was a bit noisy, and that the room service menu was a little sparse. I feel like it could be a little more robust considering the restaurant is right next-door. We ended up going to the restaurant for dinner, which is a place I normally wouldn't go, because I don't eat a lot of meat and I can't do gluten. They had so many options for me! I had a bowl of the black bean chili, which was tasty. My husband had the flank steak Caesar, which he enjoyed a lot. We also shared the gluten free lemon bar with sorbet, which was also delicious. In the morning we did room service and we both got scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes and coffee, with a side of almond milk. My husband also got bacon and orange juice. It was all yummy! All in all, I'd definitely stay here again for a night on a road trip. :) read more

Checked in to what looked to be a fully updated room this afternoon. The room was freezing however. 62 degrees! An engineering Dept person managed to adjust the room temperature, but we then discovered that the bed was filled with bread or cookie crumbs! We spent an hour trying to clean the sheets, eventually turning them over, just to be on the safe side. The little black bugs we found in the bed were also bothersome. I was bitten in several places. Not sure if they're bedbugs. This place is not clean. The bed was overly soft and unsupportive. The little sleep I got was not enough to keep my back from hurting. I think we'll just drive on in the future, and won't bother staying here. We evaluated the restaurant separately. read more

Beautiful place but had such a bad time this time. We love to relax by the pool but the whole day a group of people had a very large boom box playing annoying music the whole day. Contacted front desk. They would ask them to turn it down. 5 min later they would resume the loudness. More complaints. Same thing. Spoke to security. They came and asked them again. I went to front desk and cancelled my next night. This is unfortunate because I would frequent this place and now I will be hesitant to return. Just because we are in Covid there is not an excuse for bad service. First of all the restaurant has some rude employees. They weren't very friendly and I'm sorry I am in the customer service industry and I know what it takes to deliver exceptional service. Covid should not be a reason to deliver bad customer service. Spent over $89, and I even gave the guy at the cash register a $5 tip because I know how hard it is. Gave me a lettuce wrap instead a of California burger and then my New York dip had no flavor plus the sweet potato fries had a hair. Then I went to the country store to look at all the decor ( this was before we got out meals). Spent another $100. Mid road trip I look I my bag and to see that they forgot to put my jerky in my bag. Called and said there was nothing that can be done because I was already long gone. There just be something that can be done especially with the newer technology. Pros: Two sinks in the bathroom, a coffee maker, the pool view was nice, and there is a cat that seems to roam around the hotel grounds. Cons: You will smell manure 24/7 everywhere--it's an incredibly pervasive smell, the dinner and breakfast is very expensive, and while the dinner may be worth it the breakfast is not. Had a very bad dining experience. After lunch I asked for a cake with a candle for my toddler, our server refused and explained they have no candle policy because of fire hazard since tables were set outside in a tent due to pandemic. Few minutes later they served a cake with 20 candles for other table next to us. When I asked for manager to find out the reason for such discrepancy he confronted me with wrong attitude and raised his voice. Harris Ranch was a perfect stop in between LA and San Francisco on our way to the Redwoods. I didn't know what to expect but our room was comfortable and we had a nice meal in the restaurant. They even do full service in-room dining including real plates and cutlery which is unusual during COVID. I would highly recommend this if you need somewhere during your travels! read more
