We found this u pick fruit farm while driving to Yosemite. There was a sign pointing to turn right so we decided to check it out. There was a fruit stand in front of prepackaged fruits with pricing and a box. The owner came out and asked us if we'd like to pick some fruits. They had soooo many fruits when I asked her what kind. She said the field was so big that we'd have to walk around and see. There were peaches, grapes and plums all in the first stretch. I'm not even sure what else she had because their field was so big. I could get lost in it the whole day. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend coming here. It's very casual and was not crowded when we went. Price was $3/lb for anything.

Due to the late May rain we got this year, it caused many cherry fruits to split making it very expensive at $7 per pound. With Brentwood being so crowded these days, going there has become less attractive. That is where Harris Ranch came in. After blueberry picking at Ripon - http://aroundthebayandaway.blogspot.com/2019/06/fruits-of-our-labor-in-ripon.html, we went 3 miles down and was pleasantly surprised that even at 11AM, there were only a handful of cars in the lot and baskets of rainier cherries, my favorite for sale. We opted for U-pick at just $3.75/lb and an hour later had over 4 lbs worth of beautiful rainier cherries. I hope to return when the peaches or pluots are ready.

Came here last Saturday and picked some Bing and Reiner cherries! They are all mostly sweet and good size!

Their cherries are always sweet! And they have different variety of cherries. The farm was huge and we had a blast cherry picking. The owner was so friendly and kind. Great place for fruit picking. They also have pear or peach picking coming up end of this month. Might go back again.

Super cute place to go fruit picking. They have a variety of different fruits to choose from depending on the season. This was my first time, but I loved the experience and wandering through the orchards and finding which fruits were ripe and ready to be picked! When I got home, I had to try the fruits right away and since they were ripe, they were super sweet and juicy! During this time they had apricots, peaches and cherries! I will be coming back more often! If you're planning on going in the summer, arrive early before the heat settles in. Also, bring a hat and sunglasses!

Plenty of cherries to choose from & very sweet. Cherries are $2.50/lb, and they accept CASH or card. Been coming here for 3yrs now and we'll be back for other fruits once they're ready.

    Different types of cherries.

Great place for cherry picking. Owner is so nice. Plenty cherries. Cherries were super sweet

I had really fun during my visit. One of the best place to pick cherry. The environment there was one of the best you can just reached valley farm for milk.

A fun place to browse and get your exercise done. I enjoyed the views and eating the cherries. You pick for $4.50 a pound. Look at their FB or website for updates. Taking pictures is free :). The cherries are sweets. Some tree have tarty cherries. I see a lot of families enjoying and goofing around.

Such an awesome cherry picking experience! My family came out to Lodi for a camping trip and were so happy to find out Harris Orchards was still open for cherry picking. It's a nice family owned fruit farm that does different u-pick fruits seasonally. We left with about $35 of cherries and had a wonderful time. The gentleman who helped us out also gave us some apricot plums that were quite tasty. I loved the ease of the entire experience and the kids enjoyed strolling through the cherry trees. I'd definitely recommend a stop if you are nearby.

    Super ripe, huge coral cherries!

If you're coming from the east bay its a bit far but it's so worth it. We went cherry picking in Brentwood a week ago and thought it was good. Then we came here on a whim after blueberry picking and we're so glad we did! Their orchard has a variety of cherries that are super ripe. Their coral cherries are my favorite - deep, dark burgundy and full of flavor. They have two sides to their orchard. I would recommend going across the street first and going far into the orchard first to begin picking. Find trees that you like and get as much as you can. Then go to the other side to pick and try other varieties. Although all cherries were great we loved the ones found on the otherside a lot more. Yes, at $5 per pound they are more expensive than Brentwood but once you eat their cherries you forget about the price. They take credit card and provided buckets and bags. Masks during covid are required. Go early because it can get hot.

This year the season started a bit late, on May 19th. We came during the Memorial Day weekend this year 2018. Arrived around 9:30AM and there were 5-6 cars parked. Some people were buying cherries from the stand, some are going for U-Pick. I would highly recommend doing U-Pick because it's so much fat, especially for kids. You can go around and try as many cherries as you want (though if you eat too much you may get diarrhea or gasy). What you pick to take home cost $3.50/pound. You can easy spend 2 hours exploring and eating. Our main target was the Rainier cherry, which were scattered on both sides of the main house (where the fruit stand is). What I love most about U-Pick is the fact that you can be extra picky and only bring home the best of the best :) Tips: 1) Bring cash 2) Come early (it opens at 8:30AM) to avoid the heat

Drove by the Harris U-Pick sign on the way to Yosemite. The owner was friendly and told us to check out various areas of the orchard for good cherries. The kiddos had such a great time checking (aka tasting) out the few varieties of cherries. What a great rest stop to stretch your legs and got some cherries while you're at it. Will definitely return when peaches, plum and apricots are in season soon!

CandyCot Fruit Company - These are standard Blenheim variety apricots. Tart and flavorful but nowhere as decadent as the Anyas.

Throughout my life I've had lots of fresh apricots, and depending on the source these have ranged from bland to tart to sweet, but to make the claim that theirs was the sweetest on earth ... I knew I had to try these to believe it! Thanks to CUESA, the educational organization that runs the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, a group of us got to visit with farmer John Driver on his 10 acre apricot orchard recently. The farm doesn't offer public tours and these CandyCots are fairly exclusive so this might have been an opportunity of a lifetime to actually visit the farm. CandyCot apricots are bred varieties, grown under the hot Central Valley heat. The fruits which are smaller in size than the standard supermarket apricot are known for their pronounced flavor described by some as "spicy" and their high sugar content. Using a Brix rating system which measures dissolved sugars CandyCot ratings measure in the 20's and 30's while standard apricots are usually in the teens. Because it was a scorching 97 degrees outside John picked out a nice covered area to do a presentation for our group (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/m0I1TLmK568I29YBnfBlmA?select=f_SZnXa0FeKMeFhqbmA7Bw#RvTqNPe7kmfcGbhoA5vzqA) and give us the lowdown on his CandyCot fruits. John has traveled the world in search of truly sweet and flavorful apricots and in his introduction he brought up places like Kazahstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Central Asia. He gathers seeds, grows plant samples and grafts them together (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/m0I1TLmK568I29YBnfBlmA?select=f_SZnXa0FeKMeFhqbmA7Bw#Gm-KBNQISJJG_m8m9NN-0Q) in an attempt to recreate some of earth's sweetest fruit. These plants take many years of love and nurturing in order to bear fruit and John's patience and dedication to his craft has resulted in the sweetest apricots almost every member of our group would later agree that they had ever sampled. To prove this point John also has non-grafted California Blenheim apricots (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/m0I1TLmK568I29YBnfBlmA?select=f_SZnXa0FeKMeFhqbmA7Bw#zknyp7DAo6EMihCLeZHZLQ) on his orchard for skeptics like myself to sample and compare. Blenheims are the standard California apricots found in most supermarket produce sections. After a short talk and Q&A on soil conditioning, pruning and pest management John took us out onto the orchard and allowed our group to pick and sample fruit directly from the trees (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/m0I1TLmK568I29YBnfBlmA?select=f_SZnXa0FeKMeFhqbmA7Bw#3ZeeqGX8i2WPQ9JSCuHtZQ). For the record John prunes his trees using the letter V shape (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/m0I1TLmK568I29YBnfBlmA?select=f_SZnXa0FeKMeFhqbmA7Bw#4tm2_oBedWSHZwRi9G3OyQ) because it creates better airflow for his trees and the fruits seem to grow best this way. These were the Anya variety and we were instructed to pick anything that didn't have green spots. Many of the fruit had brown spots not caused by bruising as John explained but are actually natural indicators of the fruit's sugar content. The more browning on the fruit the sweeter the fruit. I picked one of those and bit into it without a second thought. The juice actually popped from the fruit and ran down my chin and all over my hands. Apricot heaven is what immediately came to mind. These apricots were beyond sweet and amazingly enough one could truly differentiate between the apricot flavor and the sugar content. As unbearable as the outside heat was I didn't want to leave that orchard. Thankfully, John allowed us to pick extras so I had fruit to take home to enjoy (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/m0I1TLmK568I29YBnfBlmA?select=f_SZnXa0FeKMeFhqbmA7Bw#9GydI61pdwGNnvQ6-1kIOg). CandyCots are currently sold either at the Saturday Ferry Plaza Farmers Market (only through July 7, 2012), select markets such as Save Mart and Whole Foods or through mail order. Check out their website for more details. Because of the high sugar content the fruits don't spoil as quickly and keep very well in the refrigerator.

They do serve lunch to 2pm. We were here to have lunch and then take pictures at their lavender farm. Hopping to catch some blooming lavender. Sadly, it was mostly a green garden w not much blooming lavender. There were a few other flowers blooming tho. Upon arrival.... Pros 1) plenty of parking. 2) location was plain but pretty and clean. 3) they had like 4 to 8 tables on the front by the parking area where you walk in. I saw a few people eating there. 4) they had a beautiful wooden table in the back on the grassy area with 6 chairs around it. That's where we sat for lunch. Our reservation was at 12pm. We got seated right away. Today was perfect to eat outside. There is no indoor seating or a restaurant here. I didn't see any. 5) there is a gift shop. But we didn't make it to see the inside 6) they serve salads and sandwiches here for lunch. Very simple and short menu. Their soup of the day today was tomato bisque. 7) our sandwiches and salads tasted fine. But salads are large portions. I could have shared my chicken salad with another. Sandwiches are normal size. Enough for one person. 8) Drinks were ok. Water tasted good. No funky or metal taste to it. 9) two porter potty bathroom but clean. Not the typical blue porter potties at putdoor events. A little nicer and it flushes. 10) our server was very nice. Cons 1) it took a long time to get our meals once we ordered. We were seated at 12pm. But we didn't get our salads and sandwiches till like an hourish later. By the time our foods came out, we sat to catch up and eat, and celebrate a bday, it was like 1:45ish already. Gift shop closes at 2pm. 2) our young server seems like she's still in training. But she was good. Wish they check on their customers more often. But maybe she was the only one taking orders. I don't know. 3) Conclusion This location was nice. Clean. Pretty. There wasn't any lavender blooming when we were there. But I heard it's a hit and miss to catch it in bloom too get beautiful pictures. It's ok though. We found other areas to get nice photos in. Foods were ok. Meh. But salads looked pretty and in large portions. Chicken on the salads were perfectly made. It was juicy and not dry. Each of our plates were $18. There is a small drinks menu. With both their menus being short, it made it so much easier to order something. Love that no one rushed us out after 2pm. We were allow to take our time on the area to take photos. They were setting up for a 4pm wedding. Not to bad here.
