I haven't been this year but I will be going there this week. I will purchase a few melons with seeds. 3 or 4. I can personally eat a whole melon by myself. I love Watermelon. I am a Black f soon to be 72. I'm a Oakland native with parents from Louisiana. I love melon. I find it refreshing and just good for me. I grew up never eating out of the rind. I never knew there was a ring. My Mom is always served us melon cut out of the rind with no seeds. She would serve melon to us in our Tupperware bowls. 6 kids 6 bowls each with a different color. It was on a family outing that I saw seeds and a rind. I thought something was wrong with the melon. Boy was I laughed at. My siblings and I didn't know nor had we eaten out of a rind. We were inner city but our Mother was a class act. When my children were going up I did the same. I would cut the melon out of the rind and they had seedless melons that I placed in a large bowl for them to enjoy when ever they wanted melon. Today I do the Iarge bowl. I cut in quarters or large pieces and I sit with my knife folk and I enjoy it with a little salt. I never eat out of the rind and I prefer a melon with seeds. read more

They have pumpkins, of every size color and shape. They also have the local pies along with Portuguese breads. Lived in Manteca for a few years now and always drove past Perry's on the 99. We finally stopped by and can't believe we haven't came earlier. We went to their pumpkin patch and got a few pumpkins to carve and paint. We also got some cheesecake, flowers, and produce. I always get cheese popcorn and this year bought a bag and it wasn't cheesy at all. We took a few bites and closed it up. Took it home and figured I'd try again the next day to see if maybe further down in the bag, I'd get that cheese popcorn taste but no. Completely bummed because it's hard to find a good cheese popcorn. It just had a plain almost stale taste to it. What a great pumpkin patch, especially for younger children. To get to the pumpkin patch you walk thru their cute market that includes holiday decor, fresh pies, meat, candy, nuts and more! The pumpkin patch has a variety of pumpkin sizes, a small haunted house, a truck to climb on and other smaller activities to do. The best thing is parking is free, there is no fee to enter, pumpkins are so affordable and the staff was so friendly. What a great establishment! Oh.....the fresh blackberry pie didn't make it home. Came to Perry's looking for a pie to surprise my mother with for her birthday. They actually had a pretty decent selection of pies! Coconut cream, banana cream, chocolate cream, apple (both traditional and Dutch), boysenberry, and maybe another couple options. Service was good and friendly and the chocolate cream pie we got was delicious! My mom said it was the best she's had. Will definitely try some other options in the future now that I know they're nearby. We stumbled on this place on our way to Yosemite and it is such a gem. All the fruit we purchased was spectacular. And we also picked up some nuts, banana bread, honey, jam and it all was sublime. But my favorite discovery here was the garlic chips! Amazing! I bought 3 containers. We even stopped on our way home to the Bay Area! So you can grab something tasty and have a seat in their patio area and even be safely watching kids looking for their pumpkins. We didn't have any kids, but I had a nice time with my 91 year old mom! My mother had a nice time too! Good produce with a big price tag. Seedless watermelon was $10. Excellent peach pie was $23. Other fresh veggies were a little higher than expected. However quality looked to be very good. Decent variety in small family quantities and approaching the peak of ripeness instead of overripe like at that big membership bulk store. The watermelon was really good. Long gone are the fifty cent watermelons at the Perry's fruit stand at Lathrop Road and I-5 right by the fields they were grown in. read more

Area was very clean and friendly staff. We purchased $35 of peaches and plums to make jam this week. Plums had no flavor and certainly not tree ripened.
