Delicious BLT with egg for breakfast!
    Jingle M.

Not sure if this is the Harpoon Taproom in Terminal 1, Boston International Airport, but it served us an excellent Breakfast Egg BLT! Delicious way to kill time while waiting for a flight! There are a few Harpoons in Boston so all must be good!

Traveling can take its toll on a person. Traveling for work, even more so. Sometimes, while waiting for my flight to board, I just want to relax with a pint or two. Well, I lucked out the last time I flew, because my gate was less than 100 feet from Harpoon Taproom. Service was friendly and efficient. I went for one of their guest brews, which was a fine, unfiltered English ale that hit the spot. I had just eaten, which was fortunate because they had few vegan options on their menu. Under similar circumstances, I would certainly return. Decent vegan menu items would probably get an extra star out of me. Safe travels, everyone.

We went here before boarding our flight and overall fine for beers, not best for food. The server was ride and not interested in serving even. For the airport, it was reasonably priced. It has a nice seating overall.

If you're stuck in Terminal A near Gates 22 & 21 this is a decent but of course expensive option. Two relatively small glasses of wine and a bowl of New England Clam Chowder were $42 before tip. The chowder was good. Menu said it was locally made. Wine was at least a decent quality for the high price. Would have preferred a more generous pour for the price. Others had expensive beer and expensive wine too plus a giant pretzel which they said was good. Came with cold cheese and mustard. Bar seating plus tables. Most of which are communal tables. Server Gal was nice and efficient.

I checked out the Harpoon Taproom during a layover in Boston. The prices were reasonable and the servings were generous. I opted for a refreshing side salad. I seem to always crave salad after traveling. For my main dish, I went for comfort food and for the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Everything came out very quickly. The soup was thick in consistency. The bread on the grilled cheese was thick. I had hoped for a little more gooey, starchy cheese action. Overall, this meal was just what I needed.

Terminal A is definitely lacking some food options so I decided to give this a try. I got the grilled cheese, it was pretty good for an airport grilled cheese and I thought the goat cheese was a nice touch. I also got a fluffernutter to go, can't go wrong with that. The service was great and the waitress was friendly and attentive even though it got quite busy after I sat down.

At the end of Terminal A by Delta Gate 22, much less busy than more central options. Limited menu but functional variety. Tip: Ask if any menu items are not available before you get your heart set on something. (Running out of tater tots when they are a significant component of several menu items shouldn't happen. All 6 diners in immediate proximity, and I, were disappointed to learn they were out.) Cheese panini and soup were just okay; reasonably priced...for airport food. Could have been easily and economically elevated to a better entree worth $5 more. A win-win for diner and business owner.

    $16 wings...lol

The server working at the bar on Aug. 28th around 5:30 AM was extremely rude and there was only one other person there.

Ambience is kind of fantastic since it's light and airy but still separated from the rest of the terminal.

We walked in and there was no hostess. The bartenders stood around and did not greet us. We had to go ask for service so that we can be seated (why?) and then once we were seated, it took a while for a server to take our order. Once we got our order, we never got our waters refilled and only were checked on to see if we'd want more alcohol. The menu was alright, though a bit basic. Food tasted fine. Presentation was basic and the little cup of fries seems stingy and unnecessary when there's already a tray. The alcohol was fine. I was pleased they had cocktails in a can (they have a distillery with a wide variety of spirits). No ciders though. The beer selection was good although the menu on the wall was not updated. It would've been good if we could just order from the wall but apparently the drafts and to-go menus are not updated. Overall very subpar service and unwelcoming pretentious vibes. Would not return.

On our bartender's suggestion, we ordered the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza and it absolutely delivered. The crust was perfectly balanced -- crisp and firm on the outside while remaining soft and airy in the center, exactly how great pizza should be served. The sauce had excellent flavor, and the combination of pepperoni and hot honey created the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and heat without overpowering the pie itself. My wife sampled a flight of four locally available beers and really enjoyed the opportunity to try selections that are difficult to find outside the Boston area. I jokingly told her not to become too attached to them since we wouldn't be bringing them home with us. The atmosphere inside the Tap Room was lively, modern, and unmistakably Boston, with plenty of Samuel Adams history woven throughout the space without feeling overly commercialized. We had a fantastic experience here and would absolutely recommend stopping by if you find yourself in the greater Boston

So, while I didn't get to visit the actual brewery, this tap room in the heart of downtown was second best. When you arrive, there is a gatekeeper checking ID's like I am about to go into a nightclub with glowsticks just right off the campus of some college. You even get a stamp on your hand. Beer and food were to be ordered at the bar. I asked the bartender if the outdoor patio was open and he rolled his eyes and pointed at a sign that said upstairs was closed. Sorry I missed it when going through the TSA precheck line. I then asked about flights and he looked annoyed again. I got one anyway. Sorry if you have to pour 4 mini beers instead of 1 big one. Life is tough. Anyway, the beer was solid, and glad I got to try 4 new things that I haven't had. I wish the upstairs patio would have been open as it was 71 degrees and sunny. It's not like they had servers so I can't think of a reason to cattle us all together.

I'm more of a blonde ale type and this one served here gave me hints of a cream ale from home. It gave me a subtle malt start with a smooth crisp finish. Next I tried a cinnamon brown ale seasonal special. The bartender said it is her favorite beer right now. When you think of a cinnamon beer one might think how would that work?? Let's just say the cinnamon compliments the malt flavor and gives me that warm hug perfect for the cool winter weather. I feel like I could drink this warm in a mug by a fire with friends. Lastly the Alt beer. Unfamiliar with what the hell an ALT beer is, I spoke with the owner who gave me a great explanation on what it is. Its origins are European, German to be exact. It is a kolsch beer which I have never tried. I am normally not a fan of dark beers but this copper colored beauty gave me pause. I was most surprised by the nutty flavor and smooth finish. With only being open for 7 weeks so far they have an impressive start. Tip: This isn't a place for food but several neighboring restaurants will deliver and I saw several patrons doing so. Want to catch a soccer game or women's sporting event?? This would be a great place to pull up a stool and chat with one of the friendly bartenders too.

My server convinced me to get the spicy clam, and it was devoured so fast. It was gone before he filled my water!
