I called around to businesses in the Austin area, even to companies that had "deals" on radio stations, and couldn't find a better price than what Harley was quoting me. Knowing I was tight on cash and had family coming into town, I chose to go with Harper, although "you get what you pay for." I have to say, in this case I got what I paid for and more. Harley picked up my call when I asked and gave me an exact quote on my description. I had 3 rooms, stairs, and a hall shampooed for $118 including tax. Harley made an appointment with me right away. On the day of, he called me in advanced to tell me he was arriving late and arrived promptly at the revised time. They did the job quickly and professionally. My stairs and carpets look much better. I only gave 4 stars because other yelpers made it sound like they could remove crazy, tough, imbedded stains, but they didn't. They said it was the best they could do. I can still see a difference between the high traffic and non-high traffic areas. Granted, the difference is not as stark as before. They are really professional and friendly. I found Harper's Carpet Cleaning and Floor Care on Yelp! after noticing that the color of my carpets looked significantly lighter under the furniture and rugs. Really different - and pretty gross. I have dogs, but we all stay pretty clean and I could not imagine what the problem was. The Yelp! reviews spoke volumes, so I gave him a call. While I was describing the nature of some of the carpet discoloration, Harley mentioned that candles can create a lot of soot that can slowly discolor your carpet, but that it can be cleaned out. I had been burning candles in almost every room almost every night for almost 6 months. Thanksgiving was coming and my carpet looked like a machine shop rag. I promptly stopped lighting candles and asked Harley to come out and work his magic. What a difference. Words cannot even convey the difference (so I took pictures). When he finished the living room, I remembered why we bought this house in the first place! Harper's Carpet Cleaning and Floor Care is honest, professional, very reasonably priced, and they get the job done right. Wow. You guys weren't kidding. I am absolutely thrilled with the service we received from HCC. A couple of days passed between me emailing for more information and hearing back, but Harley/Christi apologized and explained that IT issues were to blame. I can honestly say that's the single less-than-ideal thing that happened in dealing with them. I emailed the details of what I was considering having done, including quick photos of our space and a description of the hairy beast that was the cause of most of my deep cleaning needs, and received a quote almost immediately. We were able to schedule time to clean our area rugs, couches and tiled bathroom within just a couple of days. The quote was right on - less expensive than other quotes I'd received, and more comprehensive (not everyone does the tile cleaning and sealing, which we needed). Other reviews have mentioned the noise - and yes, it's pretty loud - but knowing that I was able to send the dog to a friend's and be prepared myself to deal with it. HCC was easy to deal with and did a fantastic job with our house. I will say the carpets dried pretty quickly, but our couches took a bit longer. Not a criticism, but just a heads up to plan accordingly. We will definitely be return customers! read more

I had my carpets cleaned several months ago and it still amazes me that they were able to get them so clean. I am not sure why it took me so long to post my review. I had botched a do-it-yourselfer cleaning job, which just made things worse. I was so embarrassed to have anyone over with my dirty, dirty carpets. But Harley fixed us right up - the carpets looked better than I thought they could look. I should really know better than to add over the counter solutions that only attract more dirt, but I didn't. I contacted several companies prior to a recent move to determine who would clean my two rugs well but for a good price. After almost booking an appointment with a MUCH MORE expensive company, I decided to give Harper a call and am sure glad I did. Vlad was my cleaner. He arrived ready to work with a good attitude. He explained what he was doing and took care to relocate the rugs prior to cleaning them to a place that wouldn't damage my hardwoods. After cleaning each of my two rugs, he brushed both of them diligently to get up the cat hair that would never come up with a simple vacuum. When Vlad left, my rugs were clean, smelled nice, and all for a good price. I feel horrible for not doing this sooner, as I have used them 3 times now! Harley is super great to work with and responds super fast to get me scheduled. I ALWAYS call him last minute... you know, because my carpet got dirty over night and surprised me when I woke up type last minute :) He always finds a spot for me and makes me feel super special. Jaime then comes along and shows my carpet who is boss!! He is friendly, kind and just a great guy!! Example... my wife was recovering from brain surgery, and was going to be home sleeping when Jaime arrived. He called me to tell me he was on his way, which was fantastic because it was sooner then expected. I called my wife to wake her up, and I just happened to call her 2 minutes before her alarm went off and she was not happy about that! Lmao! So I called Jaime back and asked if he can not be so efficient and give her about 10 extra minutes and I explained why. He giggled and replied not a problem, he would stop for a coffee at a gas station. Then asked if he would Mind grabbing my wife a Diet Dr Pepper since she woke up grouchy and this would make her love him. He absolutely had no problem and remembered she liked fountain drinks. Shortly after I got the alert that he had arrived, I got a text message from my wife telling me how thoughtful I was and she was sorry... he gave me all the credit! SCORE!!!!! Anyway, I love this company, I love their work, and I love the personal touches and customization you get from them. Oh and the prices..... unbeatable!!! I can't remember exactly what I paid this last time, but I had them do my stairs, landing, hallway, and 4 bedrooms all with pet treatment, for an area that equals about 1250sq/ft and The price made me feel guilty! Harper Carpet Care knocked it out of the park again today! This time with Vladimir. Our renters moved out, and I showed Vladimir all the spots and stains they left behind. He immediately started analyzing exactly what each stain was -- purple slime in a bedroom (I thought it was lipstick.); mineral stains from a potted plant in the living room (I thought, maybe a spilled drink.); chemical residue from some type of cleaner that was used to deal with a stain; two long stripes of some type of adhesive that collected every dirt and dust particle around. You get the idea -- He figured out exactly what he was dealing with and had an arsenal of tools/treatments to try. When I returned two hours later, we did a walk through of the house, and to my amazement (and thanks to his expertise and efforts) almost every stain was gone! I thought I was going to need to replace the living room carpet. Nope, Vladimir made it look so.much.better. The bedrooms, almost like new. Seriously.
