I don't know what's up with people who vote this place anything less than three stars. I can understand three - someone came here once, they thought, well, okay, fine, but they aren't sure what all the fuss is about. And then you have the people who have come here for years and they definitely know what all the fuss is about. So what's all the fuss about? The food? Not really. It's okay - the burgers are real decent, the wings, same, and the other stuff, I don't know. There's nothing fancy going on here, particularly with the drinks. Tonight, for instance, the bartender told me straight up, "I don't have any decent beer on tap tonight." So I thought, no biggie, and ordered a Tanqueray and tonic. Lovely. And then followed it up with a few cans of Amstel served up in a coozie. Who does that? Not everyone, I can assure you. Anyway, yes, you have to invest a bit of time to find the genius of Harold's - if I can offer a hint, this is a hardcore locals joint. You've got cats wearing gold chains, more than a few mustaches, Hawaiian shirts; it's the kind of place you might find Magnum PI on his day off. So leave your expectations in your rental car and just come to hang out. That's all this place is. And once you realize that you'll find it's one of the best bars in the world. This laid back palm frond covered chikki bar is one of Naples best kept secrets. Located on the North Trail behind the Quality Inn. It is just the place to lean back with a beer and a burger and feel the breeze under a lazy ceiling fan. The food is great and the atmosphere is old Florida. It is a big hangout for the locals and the few tourists who are "in the know". The bartenders never pressure you, but they are always there when you have that last sip left in the bottle. We can't figure out why this place has a 4 star on Yelp? Must be for people only looking for tiki bar style place to drink beer. That's the only thing it has going. The burgers are NOT good. We had 4 different ones at our table and no one liked them. We frequent burger joints and this place doesn't deserve recognition for it. The Cuban had bread that was so hard it popped. The chicken tacos were bland and nothing to write home about. The waitress was nice, and accommodating. She was tired from a long hard day, and we walked in with a group of 8 just before closing because we didn't know where to eat at nearly 10pm on a Sunday. We sought out Yelp recommendations, and were thoroughly disappointed. Service was fast and good. And correct. Just didn't taste like anything special. Don't bother going here for the food. Lol @ most of these snowbird/tourist reviews. This place is legendary, plain and simple. Truly a diamond in the rough for Naples. It's so laid back, the bartenders are fast, attentive and have great personalities. It's just a no frills tiki bar next to a pool that serves burgers and dogs with domestic draft beer in plastic cups. How could you possibly go wrong? What is more, if you're an Ohio State fan this is the place to be for the game. The only drawback is that the crowd is pretty old (go figure), but definitely local. Harold's rules. read more

The service has gone down hill at the Tiki Bar! I have been in the business just about my whole life. The guy server was terrible the bartenders great and the girl that came over was good. I really like their French fries!!! They are thin and crispy and delicious. I ordered a basket because they don't come with the burger. I liked the burger but was it amazing,no. I did like the bread it was served on and felt that was really good. The atmosphere is cool but I didn't like that we sat near the bar and people were smoking there. Love , love , love Harold's! A Buckeye Bar in Naples situated under a huge tiki hut by a pool in a courtyard of a small hotel. Decided to try out Harold's today for their famous hamburgers. We were not disappointed, the meat was charbroiled, moist and perfectly cooked to our specifications. I hate buns that fall apart before you have finished eating, these were warm, toasted, not dry and held together beautifully. The Fries were hot and crispy. We split the basket and it was plenty. The price was reasonable for Naples. Definitely a place we will frequent often. read more

Harold's is a great hideaway tiki bar, located behind the Gulf Coast Inn. It's got a great pool (for hotel guests) and lots of cold beer and drinks. What an awful dinner. We started out with their version of the bang bang shrimp. For $8 we were served mini shrimps which seems to be all batter. I was really hoping the "Best Burger in Town" was going to be great. We ordered our burgers and my husband ordered his medium rare...I ordered mine medium. Both came out well done. When we said something they asked if we wanted it recooked...duh! Why ask how we want it. The 2nd burgers were still not cooked to order...mine was a little better however my husbands medium rare burger was again overcooked. We were served on paper plates and one of the servers (we had 2) appeared to be the manager just put them down on the table and offered no apology and didn't even return to find out how they were. Don't get me started on the shoe string fries...WILL NOT RETURN and who is rating this place as "best in Naples". Go to Brooks Burgers or even Five Guys for a great burger. read more

This came highly recommended as having "The best burger in Naples". We went for lunch during a cold spell, not realizing that it is an outdoor place only- basically a tiki bar. It was enclosed in plastic and there were patio heaters but we still had to keep our coats on. The chowder was pretty good; definitely not the best in Napkes. Since I havea gluten allergy, I asked for a grilled grouper sandwich without the bun. It came with 2 over ripe tomato slices and a tiny container of coleslaw. Although the menu said market price, I didn't ask how much so I was shocked when the check came and was charged $16.50 for a small piece of fish in a basket! There are too many other places in Naples with better prices. I won't hurry back. read more

I hate to give negative feedback especially to places I love but yesterday's service was the worst thing I've ever experienced. Started with us having no place to sit which is par for the course as this place is always packed on a Sunday, so absolutely no complaints. After waiting about 10 minutes to get a drink at the bar (still not complaining) my husband asked a waitress if she would mind grabbing a drink for us, as in the past servers have done so. Her reaction was like we asked her to commit a bank robbery, a simple no would have been fine. After about another 15 minutes a table cleared and we were able to seat ourselves- sadly we had this server who had already spouted off to my husband so the three of us knew to walk a thin line. We ordered our drinks, while waiting I lit up my cigarette, my server came over demanding I put it out. My fault, as I should have remembered when it's chilly and the plastic is down we're not allowed to smoke. I asked her for an ashtray, she screamed at me and said I just told you there's no smoking allowed. When I asked her where exactly she'd like me to put my cigarette out she stomped away and stayed maybe get up off your ass and put it out outside. Hmmmm yeah. When she brought me the ashtray I asked her if I could keep it for when I went outside to smoke. She rolled her eyes, walked away with the ashtray. So I guess my cigarette butts are likely at the bottom of the pool since I had to put my cigarettes out on the ground. Thank God another server came on duty and switched tables with her. We kindly asked our new server to not share the generous tip we left for her with the cranky punk who should not be in the hospitality industry ever. Millenials. So respectful. Not. Will never allow her to serve me again and next time I go I will update this post with her name, although it's doubtful she will still have a job with that personality. Wowser. read more

First time here. We had 2 burgers and beer for lunch. The burgers were fabulous. Cooked to perfection with lettuce, tomato and a perfectly cut really good slice of onion on a perfect bun. Thanks to Yelp, I found a local hangout with an outside bar. The hamburger was good, though the cole slaw seemed "premade". I love the chickee construction of the tiki roof and was more fascinated by that than anything. We have been going to Harolds for many years and we love the atmosphere and the food is good too! Unfortunately we quit going as much as well as our family and friends. The service has gone down hill:(. There are a couple waitresses that seem very annoyed when you ask for anything! We especially avoid the tall girl with the red bob. She is very snippy! Harold's is one of my favorite places to go while visiting Naples. The have a fantastic happy hour during the week, and karaoke on Sundays. Their burgers are the BEST in town, however everything off the menu is great. I've noticed it's a great place for locals and visitors.There is bar seating, and table seating in the shade or around the pool. I recommend coming here for a good time. read more
