The restaurant is outside at a motel. There is covered plastic and heaters if it's a cooler day or night. It was packed on a Sunday night. The server was friendly. We order two drinks off the menu and liked both of them. I really enjoyed my peach cosmo. The prices were decent. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the coconut shrimp. The shrimp was the better choice but the fish was fresh. It was a little bit smaller portion with the fish compared to the shrimp. They give a lot of fries. My family and I go here every year when we are in town for thanksgiving. Each year we have had different experiences, but for the most part it is enjoyable. The food is a solid 7/10, but you go to Harold's for the cheap drinks and atmosphere. The service was great as they catered to the little kids we had in our party well. It is a casual restaurant/bar. The staff is friendly. The prices are not bad and food okay. The restaurant is conveniently located for us. It is next to the hotel and pool. It is very convenient if you are staying at the hotel. You dont have to leave the hotel. I had the Cuban sandwich. It was okay. I tried one of my cousin's chicken strips and loved them. I ate them all lol. The cousin next to me ordered a burger and it looked good. I think everyone enjoyed there meal. The table service was a little slow. Tried Harold's for the first time yesterday. Upon entering the bar/dining area we stood waiting to be sat. We assumed that someone would show us to a table. What puzzled us was that there were three servers at the end of the bar and all three neglected to acknowledge us. Finally, after seating ourselves one of the servers came over and greeted us and got us our beverages and took our order. The appetizer of shrimp came out very quickly and was ice cold and fabulous. One of us ordered a burger which you could tell the quality of the beef was excellent however it was hardly char grilled. Almost like the grill wasn't hot enough. It was cooked however to a true medium rare as I had ordered! The lettuce tomato onion and pickles were fresh and tasted as if they were right out of the garden. Another guest at our table ordered the grilled cheese and the bread sadly was burnt and appeared as if the flat top was too hot, not warming the bread all the way through. Fries were exceptionally good as was the coleslaw. Our initial server who VERY attentive came to the end of her shift and let us know another server would be taking over our table. Well we sat there with dirty dishes until were finally able to get her attention to please remove the dishes. We really felt like we were inconveniencing her. Most likely because we weren't her table to begin with. The person who suggested Harold's has brought many friends here and felt disappointed. The burger was good & the fries are great. I ordered the fish & chips & the fish was absolutely terrible, the breading was gross, awful texture & the fish just tasted like grease. Served with no lemon & prepackaged gross tartar sauce. The server never checked on us after bringing our drinks besides to deliver the bill. I really needed some sort of sauce or anything to choke down the fish but was never given the opportunity to ask because as soon as the server had some "regulars" sit down, she never looked at us again. The condiments that sit out on the table 24/7 were all clogged up, nasty, greasy. And they have un-covered, not wrapped plastic silverware sitting in a cup on the tables. Stopped in to Harold's after a nice day at the beach. It is nice that the restaurant is by a pool so it kept the beach vibe going. The food was typical bar food, it came out pretty quickly. The smoked fish dip was yummy and it was a huge portion size. I had the boom boom shrimp- nothing fancy about them but they were fine. My husband really enjoyed his grouper sandwich and my friend said her tacos were yummy. Beers were served nice and cold. Not the fanciest place but serves it's purpose. Stopped off on a Friday night for some drinks and food. First time for all of us. Servers were nice and prices were reasonable. However, tables were sticky from years of goop and some chairs were broken. It was about 25% full. Overall the burger, wings and fish sandwich were all average which fit the atmosphere. The place is fairly open so smoking seems to be allowed but it's still bothersome in restaurants. Our waitress was not the most responsive but she was friendly. After we had eaten (but before we were done drinking & watching playoff baseball games) she informed us of her shift change & encouraged us to close out & open a new tab with the next waitress. We were fine with that. Then our bill has a 3% "Supplemental Charge" for credit card usage. She never warned us of the charge, especially since we would be charged with the 3% again with the new waitress. I said by us closing out we would have to pay the 3% twice. Her reply was "it's only 3% & just pay cash". So we expected our new waitress to stop by any moment. She didn't. I had to go to the bar to get service. He was not especially busy so was able to give us some good advice on who to go with for a fishing trip. He also told us a few other fun things that I living here didn't even know about. Fun funky hopping chickee (bar giant thatch roofed tiki hut) covered indoor/outdoor bar/restaurant by the hotel pool, open to all. Nice selection of beers on tap. We had the peel and eat shrimp, very tasty with big shrimp and lots of them in the large order, plenty for the two of us. The pina coloda was made to order and they did not use a mix it was delish!! The grouper finger basket only contained 2 smaller sized fibers and a nub and was $25.95. Definitely could have been a littler portion for the price but it was perfect size for lunch and was delish. The fries were delish as was the coconut shrimp and the burgers. Very poor breakfast. Only bread and butter The door locks are not working. I've changed my keys about 3 times. I didn't have the hotel hygienic set, like tooth paste, tooth brush. Hamburger was very good. Our waitress was good. We had just finished our dinner and our waitress removed the food plates from the table. We paid the bill. As we were finishing our drinks, a beer and glass of wine, each having 2-3 sips remaining another waitress or manager grabbed our beverages from the table and threw them into the garbage. The ambiance is great, but the waitresses could do better. There was open tables and we put our name in for a table but they said they had "other ppl" ahead of us... my friends and I stood around for over 15 minutes and there was a table that was open, and no one was ever sat at. I timed it bc I heard a gal talk about how my girlfriend "didn't see that they were doing stuff." When she was asking about someone to help us... it was absolutely ridiculous how we were treated.
