    White cranberry slushy! Nice

I do not know much about wine but I do know a kick ass place when I see one and this is one of those places. We come to Knightstown for the Mexican restaurant from time to time and on our way home we decided to give this newly established winery a shot. I've been to a few wineries and most of them are large buildings with sprawling grounds so do not be surprised when you step inside this little bungalow. Super neat and clean on the inside with limited seating during the weird times. They did have wine slushy's which are always my go to. My wife opted for one of their wine flights as you can see in the photo is super colorful. They had two different lists of wines you could sample, one was one dollar and the other was two dollars, making it super easy to choose. We just happened to show up on a Thursday which was their thirsty Thursday and they offer discounts on bottles of wine and glasses of wine. The individual who waited on us was the owner I believe and he was super cool to talk to, answered any questions we had and was very knowledgeable on their wines. Looking forward to a return visit to sample some more of their treats.

    Port flight $17

I have to say the last couple of times I have been here I have been very disappointed in the staff interaction. me my husband recently sat down and we wanted to tried their flight of ports. we sat down we were not immediately greeted we were not immediately serve with a menu of any sort, the lady was waiting and talking to other people who already had drinks and the 2nd person working , well she did not really want to be there. after about 5 minutes we finally got a menu in front of us we looked it over we did not see the flights on there, she said thise were on the different menu and the proceeded to tell us of flight prices which was not a problem. She then poured the flight, laid the menu down and told us left to right were the different flights and walked away. After we finished, she never came to check on us again till we finished, didn't bother explain any of the ports at all. but over all the flights were very good,a little overpriced for only half bottles.I really recommend that the staff needs to get changed and maybe add the port flight to the menu so others know u have it

Stopped by the winery for my book club!

I hate sounding cliche and starting a review with "I really wanted to like (insert business) but (insert list of stuff of gripes). I seriously love so many things about Harmony except the one thing that matters most...the wine. This just made me sad. I believe my friend said it best when she described the taste of many of the sweeter wines as comparable to the sugar free crystal light packets. Yeah, it just wasn't good. Our waitress was AMAZING! So accommodating, personable, and such a pleasure. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the day before the rain started. Our waitress was attentive despite having to run inside and out to help customers. The winery itself is cute. Simple and modern. Kudos to them for selling cheeses from local gem Tulip Tree Creamery. Their cheese is incredible!! Ok now, let's talk about the wine. One friend had been to Harmony before and ordered her favorite wine which is the Red Devil. They had several tasting options including a 1 oz sample of all menu items. That sounded like a winner to me. We started with the drier reds and worked our way through to the sweeter wines ending with a dessert wine. Out of the drier wines the Malbec was a stand out. It wasn't great, but better than the others. Unfortunately, the sweeter wines were worse. They were just not good. I'm not a wine snob by any means. I felt as if the wine flavor ideas were great, but maybe the winery was a bit ambitious. So many flavors that weren't quite fully developed. Most tasting like a mixture of watered down crystal light. I'm so bummed that none really suited my fancy although the apple flavor wasn't too bad. My friend who is not a sweet wine fan found several she liked. This place has great potential. I know they are new so maybe over time things will improve. I love how they offer glass painting, yoga, karaoke, and do many other incredible events. I would like to go back to try their winter wine menu and get some amazing Tulip Tree Creamery cheese. I wish them the best and hope one day I can be a solid fan.

    Making wine....how exciting

You really need to taste their wines and you can make your own wine too! The wine making process is very interesting and it is a whole process that is very hands on. I find their wines to be quite delicious and I would recommend that you go and try them yourselves.

Ask the Community - Harmony Winery

Are they permanently closed or did they move? I went to the winery Saturday 2/16/2020 to discover that they were closed and the marquee was missing. I loved this little gem I hope it's still open.

We are still open! We moved to a bigger location. You can find us at our new spot in Knightstown just outside Greenfield off 70.

The pizza was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor--the kind of comfort food that pairs so well with a good wine. I had forgotten to grab a Coke, and the staff member helping me was kind enough to go above and beyond by bringing me a bottle. That small act of kindness really made my visit feel special and appreciated. Overall, this was such a great experience--from the food to the wine to the exceptional service. No yak milk (booo!), but there is wine. However, I must warn all of the people who prefer dry wine:…read moreThere is no dry wine here. It's all sweet. Even the driest of the wines, the Cabernet Sauvignon, is very sweet. So, if you love sweet wines, this place is for you! Right now, they are only pouring a Cabernet, a red blend, a Riesling and a sweet Rose. The grapes are imported, but Woolley Yak has their own vineyard, and the intention is that they will soon start producing wine from their own grapes. You can get a flight of wine, or a glass of wine, or a mimosa, and then you can take your wine outside with you as you explore the grounds. There are picnic benches here and there. There's also a food truck that sells four different types of grilled cheese sandwiches and handheld charcuterie cups. I think food is only available Friday through Sunday, though. I visited with children (well, a teen and an almost tween), but they are a good hang and will play on a playground with the best of them, so we headed straight for the nature play space. The playground was designed to encourage kids to engage in unstructured play, so it has a lot of natural elements all around, like tree stumps, hay bales and logs. My kids are "co-op kids" for life (their early years were spent at a nature-based cooperative preschool), so they thrive with this type of playground. There's also a tire mound to climb, a balance beam to balance on, and a basketball shooting station made from a grain wagon. There's lots of space to run around, and a few trees to climb, too. The big draw of Woolly Yak is the yaks! There are also Babydoll Southdown sheep, Kunekune pigs and chickens that live on the ranch. You can just sit on a bench and watch these animals do their things in their living spaces. Or, if you want a more up-close experience, you can purchase a ticket to one of the animal experiences, like storytime with sheep or tea with lambs. You can also experience brushing the yaks and giving them treats. If you didn't want to do any of those experiences, though, you could just visit the ranch to see the animals for free! There is no admission to enter the ranch or to park. It's a nice place to visit to stroll around and see what you can see.

I will say these are sweet wines so if you're a dry wine person I would go to see the Yaks, not drink the wine. But I love the concept of grabbing a glass or a bottle walking around the grounds and visiting the Yak pen. There is a beautiful pond on site along with a food truck and some picnic tables, which is perfect for an afternoon outside to relax and enjoy nature. The website mentioned sheep, chickens, and pigs, (as well as Yaks) I only saw the pigs and Yaks while I was there however I did not inquire about the other animals, So if you're going for the animals you may want to call as I'm not sure if the other animals are only out certain times.

I bookmarked it then and finally decided to seek it out after spending the day in nearby Pendleton. The winery (which is adding an RV Camp) is easy to find and had plenty of parking in front of the building. I liked that they have a ramp as well as stairs to the entrance. Once inside, there is a large room filled with wine related merchandise, tables for visitors to enjoy their purchases, and a central tasting counter (with seats) so that visitors can sample five wines for $5 or free if you purchase at least one bottle. I was the only early afternoon visitor while there so the owner and I had an enjoyable conversation about wine and mushroom hunting. He grows many of his own grapes (any bottle with "Estate" in the name is from their property), and gets much of the fruit locally. I believe only the white wines used California grapes (?). Anyway, I went through the tastings and noted that I liked the Blank Blanc (10% ABV) right away. The owner suggested it was a dry moscato (I never had heard of one of those.) Very pleasant and tasty. However, after the first tasting, I kept noticing that when I went to take my first sip of each new wine (including a vignole and three fruit wines), I was greeted with a harsh alcohol smell before each wine passed my lips. I commented after the vignole to the owner, but nothing helpful was suggested. Sadly, only the Apple & Cinnamon didn't also have that strong alcohol smell to me. That one was a delightful cider tasting wine, but the finish was too cinnamon for me to drink a full glass. I generally enjoyed my visit and did purchase the Blank Blanc. When I got home, I found that the flute glasses that were used for the tasting are intended for minimizing the bubbles on a sparkling wine. I wondered if the owner had used a dessert wine glass or a standard wine glass instead, would the strong scent have been dispersed in a more pleasing way. I hope that the owner reads this and can try making a change. Review #3561
