Cameron and Mike solved all the issues! Cameron's solution to my electrical service to my pond aerator was awesome - resulting in a setup where I no longer have to worry about mice damage.     We had a very disappointing experience with Dave Jones related to service calls for a boiler. The…read morehouse on the UW-Madison campus where young women live. It is managed by alumni, who volunteer their time. In the fall, we attempted to schedule a preventative service inspection before heat was needed throughout the building. That request was pushed off by their team until January, which eliminated the opportunity to proactively address any issues. When a service call was eventually scheduled, a technician arrived on the wrong day without any advance notice. We were not given the standard 24-hour notice, which created unnecessary disruption for our residents. Legally we are required to provide this for non-emergencies. Additionally, the technician went upstairs where residents were showering with no alumni escort or supervision. It made for an uncomfortable situation for our residents, which could have been avoided with the scheduled time or advance communication. More concerning was a later situation when our residents were left without heat. A service technician came out and called to explain what was wrong but did not provide a solution, plan, or timeline. When we called back around 2:45 p.m. to follow up, we learned that everyone had already left for the day. The receptionist had no information about parts, next steps, or who to contact, and could not reach anyone. The following day was a holiday, so there was still no communication or plan in place--and no heat. After another full day without communication, we contacted a different provider who was able to diagnose and fix the issue the same day, restoring heat for our residents. Once that vendor was lined up, we notified Dave Jones that their assistance was no longer needed. The only timely element they were able to do was send us a bill for diagnosing a problem but leaving us without follow up support or repair. Given the lack of communication, coordination, and urgency, we had a very bad experience, especially for a no-heat situation. We cannot recommend Dave Jones for boiler service and would encourage people to avoid this vendor and seek out others when similar service is necessary.

The communication with Sandra aka Min, was awesome and they sent Jake both times and he too, is wonderful! From the communication to the removal of the old toilets to the install.... Perfect!     I've been a longtime customer of Pertzborn Plumbing, they had always done good work, but I have…read morebeen very disappointed with their recent work and refusal to make things right. Next time I need a plumber, I'll try someone else. Pertzborn helped out with a backed up sewer line when we moved into our new home in 2020. Their plumber said the crabapple tree in our front yard had roots that were clogging the line and recommended we have the sewer line roto-rooted regularly. We hadn't had any problems in the five years since, but we had Pertzborn out to fix an unrelated plumbing problem (plastic bolt holding toilet to floor broke), and I thought I'd have them also check and clean the sewer line while they were here. I explained the whole backstory to Pertzborn's dispatcher and thought I was fairly clear that we wanted the line checked and cleaned. The crew running the roto-rooter didn't run the camera down the line, they just ran the rooter, hit what they thought was an obstruction or misaligned pipe, but didn't bother getting the camera out, just guessed maybe there was a small lip or misaligned pipe and said we'd probably be fine. I'm not a plumber, so even though I was confused (and a bit pissed) that they didn't use the camera, I took their word for it. Not even a week later, we had sewage backing up through the floor drain in our basement. This of course happened on a Friday. Called Pertzborn, they said they'd see us Monday. When the new roto-rooter crew showed up on Monday, they got the camera out and let me watch as they fished it down the sewer line. They determined that the obstruction the first crew just guessed about was a test plug, then pushed through and cleared the line. Again, I'm not a plumber, but what happened seemed fairly straightforward: first crew misidentified the problem, and left a bunch of debris sitting in or in front of the test plug, which eventually clogged and caused the sewer backup. When I asked the second crew about this, the plumber gave some wacky explanation that it was our house's low-flow toilets (blame the government regulations!) and that our family of four (with 2 teenagers who enjoy long showers) wasn't flushing enough water down the pipe. Riiiiight. We hadn't had a problem in 5 years with the same low-flow toilets, but it's just an amazing coincidence that we had a sewer backup within a week of the first Pertzborn crew not getting the job done. Plumber said he'd see what they could do about the bill, but I never heard from anyone at Pertzborn. They just sent me a bill with two separate sewer/drain cleaning charges. When I followed up with them about this over email, they said they didn't like my tone. And that they don't guarantee their work. So, enjoy your extra $165, Pertzborn. It's the last of my family's money you'll see.

    Ok, I called here to have service done on my HVAC. The system had service records on the furnace…read moreitself from Hillestad. The initial woman who answered was nice and directed me try some trouble shooting before we had them come out, fair enough. That didn't work so I called back. The next woman who answered seemed confused completely and said they had an opening a full week later... I was slightly confused by the long wait. She seemed to go and try to get sooner appointment while I waited for 5 min on hold. From there someone else picked up. It may have been the first woman I spoke to. That person then said "we have only been to that location (my address) three times." Then silence. Ok??? What does that mean, I asked? No answer. Then I was questioned about my ownership of the house etc and how long I'd been there. Ok not sure why that matters. It never has with any contractor before. Then more repeating "we have only been to the location 3 times." Ok what does that matter? " We are not Trane dealers." Was the answer. I said I understand and if they don't want to make the service appointment I can call someone else. "No no! We can do it." Ok I said. The I proceed get more questions about my ownership or how long I've been in the house. As if that is suspicious or preventing them from making an appointment to come out to my place. One of the most bizarre customer service interactions I've ever had. Weird! I said I was going to call someone else and hung up. Try better next time Hillestad. At least just be upfront and say you don't want to help or just to call someone else.
