polite service person but this was just for preventative cleaning of sewer line. during the cleaning he broke a 6 inch blade which might cause problems in the future we're not sure. My basement stairs were damaged when he brought the machine up it pulled the paint off the front of my steps and I have bare wood showing. Due to him having trouble with the blade, I was charged more than an hour for a simple maintenance call. I would not recommend this company. read more

Having to call the rooter serving pros is always a harrowing and frightening endeavor. Well perhaps that's not exactly the right wording, but knowing that the bill will likely be not accepted by my insurance provider, makes me sort of wish I could call the proctologist instead. Everyone knows (or should recall being told when still in high school by counselors advising about career possibilities) that doctors and plumbers were professions who could demand serious hourly rates and get them. In 10 years now, in my current home I've needed several plumber/rooter services to perform some task I'm either unskilled or don't care to purchase a proper rooting tool for that DIY ethic I otherwise resort to when I have a job needing attention. Mark's service was the one I've called on a return customer basis. Highest attention to the customer satisfaction of the three local companies I've hired in this area. One company (franchised well known brand) sent a man (solo) that dragged an extremely heavy Rooter machine down my hardwood stairs and every scratch and gouge that guy left was something that assured me I'd call ANYONE else in the future. My phone call and walk-in visit with before and after photos was met with the 'sh_t happens' attitude. I had before photos because as few weeks prior, all my hardwood floors had been restored, so I was extremely conscious of every blemish. Another sent a man without the required machine to perform the complete job and was only fully realized when a couple months later, I called MARK'S to redo the same root removal job and I was shown via the video image that what was left undone previously. I still don't want to ever see these guys again, but they are now the only number in my phone list for any in house plumbing work I'll ever rely on going forwards. An annual service fee is cheaper than an emergency call every other year I feel should be mentioned, which reminds me, I suspect Mark's will be returning shortly. read more

This company is AWESOME. We had a blocked sewer drain, so I called a couple other places and had to leave messages. I called Mark's, got voicemail and decided to NOT leave one more message. I got a call back ANYWAY! She listened to my explanation Mark out in less than an hour. Mark did a great job. He wore his mask the entire time, he told me what he was doing and why, and then went on to explain what I could do to keep all drains in the house running smoothly. And then I got the bill. Don't tell them, but it was about HALF of what I expected it to be! Great company, amazing price, if I need this sort of work done again, I know who I'm calling. read more

I called , after hours, and asked to have a Tech call me. He did within 5 mins. We talked through the issue and both were confident this could wait until tomorrow. I called as the business opened the next day and received a same day appt for my sewer issuethat had closed the building, . Tech came on time. He quickly discovered and fixed the issue. We've used them in the past for drain cleaning, and they've charged fair prices. We asked them to replace the seats in a faucet that was leaking. The parts cost less than $7. They charged us $73.72 in parts, $185 for labor & trip charge (total bill $258.72). This is more than the cost of a new faucet. Stick to drain cleaning with them. read more

Excellent service and transparent pricing! A few weeks ago I had a pipe burst during one of the coldest days of the winter. It was getting late into the evening and I called around to a few places seeking emergency services. Scott answered the call and arrived at my door within an hour or so. He was extremely professional, thorough and knowledgeable about what was going on. He also gave me tips on some other issues that he thought could use some attention, but not right away. I received an invoice for the services a few weeks later and it was detailed and transparent--no hidden fees or sketchy charges for driving time (which some other local plumbing companies do). This company was great when we hired them to do some emergency service to our rental property last winter. I recommend them highly. Their rates are reasonable, and their quality of service is outstanding. They serviced our water heater in a snowstorm (February 4th, 2021). They came quickly. They installed a dryer vent on our dryer (so we didn't have to hire someone else to do that job). They took the initiative to contact the manufacturer to get the part that we needed sent via overnight shipping, when they found that it wasn't available from local distributors (& pointed out to us that the water heater was just barely under warranty, so the part was free). This was all done on a third floor condominium unit, that needed to be serviced on snowy winter days while up on a ladder. read more

I have been using Mark's for over 18 years now in my professional career and his is the only company I call for my personal needs as well. His employees are friendly and have a positive attitude about their work. They try to keep the mess to a minimum and are available in emergency situations as well. Mark really wants to work with his customers to help them understand what is causing the problems in the first place and work towards a long-term solution or at least come up with a preventive maintenance program to keep emergency situations to a minimum. Perhaps I'll revise this review once the work is done.. On a Wednesday I scheduled an appt to have them out first thing in the morning (7:00) on Friday (today). Their hours are 7:00-3:30 and they charge OT outside of those hours. I rearranged my day and gave up a few hours of work (I'm paid hourly) to get this done in the morning. 7:00 came and went. At 7:30 I called their office and was told their master plumber isn't in yet, but they'll get a hold of him. He called me back at 7:50 and informed me I wasn't in their schedule and he didn't remember talking to me. I told him I'd called earlier in the week and I described the work I needed done. His next answer was that I called for information but never called back to schedule it. I talked through that and told him, yes I did. You said first thing Friday morning--7:00. Now he remembered that conversation, but had an excuse that they've installed a new scheduling system and it's been dropping appointments. He apologized for dropping the ball and we rescheduled for the following Monday morning. Needless to say, I don't like losing pay due to missing work and I called him back again on my drive to work. I explained that I'd really like to get them out to the house sooner than Monday. We're in a dry spell and my front yard doesn't deal well with drought conditions. The water pressure is so low the sprinklers will not work. He reiterated to me that they get paid OT on the weekends. I wanted him to cover that OT expense out of his pocket, given that I've already lost pay due to their error. He wouldn't budge. If I thought another company would be able to squeeze this in before Monday morning I would've cancelled the appointment. Maybe that's a sign. I'm very disappointed in their unwillingness to make this right. I chose his company based on their yelp reviews, so hopefully others will see this review and beware of their reliability. I was given three excuses for missing an appointment and was not offered anything to rectify it. --------- I decided to go with another plumbing company that was in the neighborhood today and comes highly recommended by neighbors. Mark's Reddi Rooter may do great work, they just didn't show up to do it today. read more

I scheduled an early Friday morning (7:00am) appointment to fix a leak in my kitchen plumbing. The leak was so bad we couldn't use the kitchen sink which can make everyday living somewhat difficult. I took off of work for the morning to allow adequate time for the necessary plumbing that needed to be done. No one showed up. I called the company several times, after which I was told they forgot to schedule the appointment. They offered to come in the next day (Saturday). When I inquired what the rate would be, they said they wouldn't charge me the weekend rates (they would still charge me the original rate). I had to take off of work the following morning again to allow them to come in and do the necessary work. The plumber, Tim, did a good job; however, having to take off of work for two mornings with no reduction in the bill was annoying. I feel they were disrespectful of my time and my having to take off of work for two mornings (loss of income for me). When I bought this to their attention they basically brushed it off and said this is how it is. If it weren't for the weekend I would have called and scheduled another company. read more

My property management company hired them not fix a leak in my apartment and the technician left my kitchen a mess / he piled everything on my counter into the sink and broke a teacup - he left dust and bits of ceiling everywhere. Took me an hour to clean - very disappointing. read more

Had Kevin (a technician with Mark's) "roto-root" our lateral line which was clogged, causing water to back up and over the floor drain in the basement. He appeared to know what he was doing--and (so far, so good) it appears to be "fixed." Kevin was nice, efficient and the bill was around $170 for an hour and a half's work and a new plug for the clean-out opening in the basement. Too soon to say, but if this work "holds," I would give Mark's Reddi-Rooter a five star rating... (This is an older home with hard-to get- at clean-outs and a hard-to-locate street clean-out location, so the job was not a particularly easy one!) read more
