My A/C didn't seem to make it through a recent collection of power glitches from a round of storms with very high winds. The lights flickered several times which was at least one time too many. Normally my Lennox unit shrugs that off but not this time. I called All Comfort Services today and they were able to send Monte A. on the same day. He's the man! All he had to do was be in the house and his aura was enough to bring that dead unit back to life! (Seriously!) He said he just checked the outside unit and it seemed to be blowing hot air indicating it was working. Honestly it wasn't working when I checked it the evening before - my aura must be old & tarnished. Like me. Good thing Monte's isn't. Just the trip charge - worth it. I've made a service appointment to get the oil changed and tires rotated on the furnaces and air conditioning unit and I'm certain whomever they send will bring the aura, too. In the last month All Comfort replace our kitchen Faucet and a new 20 amp service for a garage refrigerator and garage freezer. We came back from Vacation the old 25 year unit was dead. We had having the two garage units coming on Wed. I called on Monday and All Comforted worked me in on Tues for the new appliances. I belong to the Comfort Cub saved me two service calls charges in two weeks. All Comfort Office and Service Staff always seem friendly, explain things, give us the cost up front, and when done All Comfort has cleaned up and leave the place clean. Lennox had tried to problem solve the previous year and I was told that all they could be done was installation of dehumidifier to the (new) AC system. My provider sold the business Lennox suggested All Comfort. I contacted them and arranged for "consultation".... They sent out David Hess... he was rude and dismissive.... Told me to buy little dehumidifiers at Home Depot.... He would not even address the question of installing a dehumidifier to the AC unit.He ended up hosing down the outside unit and charging $800 for the call, "consultation" and a briefing hosing of unit.... One of our dusk-to-dawn carriage lights on the front of the garage was strobing and annoying the neighbors. I arranged for an inspection through All Comfort Services to determine what could correct the problem. Two electrical technicians, Devon and Caleb, came and inspected the light. They determined that the light sensor was defective and that the fixture needed to be replaced. If we bought new fixtures, All Comfort Services would be happy to install them. Devon and Caleb were personable, knowledgeable, and efficient. We were happy with their service. read more

We used them to fix a disposal once and it was $500. Was that too much? We will never know. Recently we want the valve in the toilet fixed and they quoted us $600 to fix the valve or 1600 to replace the toilet. We found someone else to do it for $500. I will never call them again. My boiler wasn't working properly. Technician came out and determined pretty quickly it was the electrical going to the water pump. He scrolled around for five minutes and came up with a flat rate of 1364.00 + 149 trip charge. Didn't have the part and when it came it didn't work. Had to get another delivered. Called the service manager about cost They do not separate materials and labor charge. Just a magic flat rate. He was here about 3 hrs part of that having to wait for the part twice. From what I can determine the part is somewhere between 75-100 $. Total job cost should be between 500 to 750. BTW it's not fixed. My blower has been going on and off every 2 minutes. Took over an hour to go from 62 degrees to 68. IMO there is only one reason you don't state a hourly labor charge. There is no accountability. Steer clear. I was new to Madison last year and so went with All Comfort because the previous owner had used them. Big mistake. My first indication that they were sleazy was when they wanted to charge me $500 to install a new kitchen faucet (the going rate is about $200). More seriously, a drainage pipe from the upstairs toilet broke, spilling nasty stuff into my dining room. I called All Comfort and they fixed the pipe for several thousand dollars. A few months later the toilet got blocked and I called a different plumber. They showed me that the pipes leading to and from the toilet were not up to code, and the one over the dining room actually didn't belong there at all. They pointed out that All Comfort SHOULD have informed me of the code violations so that I could have had them fixed. Instead,they just pocketed my money and left me with an ongoing problem. I came home one evening to find a dripping through the vent in my downstairs bathroom and the ceiling around it was getting saturated. I called All Comfort and was told the dispatch fee would be $150 with an additional $250 for the after hours fee. The plumber arrived within two hours. He had to cut away a section of the drywall in order to diagnose the problem. The charge to cut the drywall was $150. Then he found a pinhole in a piece of copper piping. He said it would be $500 to fix it. I felt like I really had no options, so I agreed. For $500 I figured he would have to do some major cutting, welding, soldering. Nope! He cut out a 3 inch section of the pipe and replaced it with a piece with fittings that he just had to slip into place. It took him a maximum of 10 minutes. For $500!! When finished, he made very little attempt to clean up after himself. He did take away the big chunks of drywall, but left all kinds of small pieces and drywall dust in the shower. He also tracked in quite a bit of mud and snow which he really didn't attempt to clean up. All in all he was here for approximately 30 minutes. The total cost was over $1100. Next time I need plumbing services, I will look elsewhere. read more

Had a really bad experience with All Comfort yesterday. We had an exterior pipe split over the winter. They come out and quoted what seemed like a really high price to repair it, but I went ahead because I didn't understand the nature of the job (I'm not a plumber). So you can imagine my surprise when the tech was done in an hour, and I ended up paying at least $800 for the hour for his time . Before posting this review I called All Comfort to give them a chance to explain and potentially change the charge, and also to get a breakout of exactly what the materials cost. They indicated "we aren't a time and materials shop", "our pricing is transparent", "we deliver outstanding work", "we charge by the job", etc. They wouldn't provide me the materials cost. So much for 'transparency' . It's disappointing to get gouged this badly by a local company. All Comfort is very focused on managing (manipulating, really) their on-line reviews. I was contacted by them within an hour of posting a two-star Google review (since changed to a one-star). I wish they would just do the right thing, and let the reviews take care of themselves. We had a problem with a water softener that All Comfort had installed a year and a half previously., we did not own the home then. Turns out the manufacturer of that water softener had gone out of business. The warranty was still in effect but I felt uncomfortable using it because once I did I would not have any warranty on the repairs and I didn't want to through good money after bad. All Comfort worked with me to get me a new water softener installed at a reasonable rate, not cheap but acceptable. They were pleasant to work with and got the problem handled in a timely fashion. Loved the plumber that they sent out. He educated me on how to properly take care of my water softener, this was important as I had never used one before. Overall we are pleased. read more

Don't join their Comfort Club. I was promised four services in the first year of their Comfort Club--a furnace inspection, AC inspection, electrical and plumbing inspections. I was also told they would reach out to me to schedule those services. Never happened. I had to reach out each time. So I decided to cancel my Club membership today when I called to schedule the furnace inspection. Was told that as soon as I cancelled, I'd be charged for the furnace inspection. So basically I made 12 payments to All Comfort for a total over $360 and they won't do the furnace inspection for free. Am done doing business with them. read more

Price gouging. I paid $1227.71 for a gas valve replacement on my water heater, and felt ripped off at the time. I later realized our realtor had purchased a homeowners insurance policy (UHP). UHP told us they could have completed the job for $329. Even assuming the insurer underpriced it, the difference is outrageous. I called the company and they said that's their standard charge. Not sure why anyone would use All Comfort, but if you do, might want to compare trip charges between providers. All Comfort's is high and once you get them in your home you feel stuck. read more

My wife and I recently hired All Comfort Services to install a new high efficiency furnace and heat pump. The process was super smooth, and we highly recommend them. We first met with Billy Thompson to discuss options and pricing. He is super friendly and very easy to meet with. He also responded very quickly to our emails asking questions about which system would be best for us. Billy also helped us with getting everything processed for state and federal rebates. The two gentlemen who installed the heat pump were fantastic. The main installer was Jesse Scott. He was awesome! He communicated clearly with us about what needed to be done, and he worked efficiently. He also did a great job walking us through the system once it was installed. We also worked with Zach Littel on some electrical wiring that was needed for the heat pump, and he did a great job and was very easy to deal with. All Comfort came within a few hours of when I first called and I appreciated that. The plumber was a Master plumber so I figured he knew what he was doing. He worked less than 1 hour and, due to upfront pricing, they charged me $934! When I agreed to that price, I thought it was a big job and would take 2-3 hours. It was challenging as equipment broke and new problems became known while fixing the problem. He had great communication skills and the bill was very reasonable after all the work. I spent about $2K with All Comfort on a hot tub electrical connection job and a 1" water pipe for an irrigation system. I had a 3rd appointment for electrical to get an EV charger in my garage as well as expand some outlets in there. I booked the appointment at the end of June. The first appointment was for the end of July. The day of the appointment they cancelled due to a technician having a heart attack (or bypass they told me in a different call) and other technicians having COVID. So we rescheduled for the middle of August. On the day of the rescheduled appointment (which was today), they called me and said nobody would be showing up. This was towards the end of my appointment window. She then advised that the soonest they could reschedule was October, or 7 weeks out. She indicated that they wouldn't cancel other customer jobs for me and I, essentially, had to go to the back of queue. She further indicated that the reason why they were so backlogged was because they only had one supervising journeyman electrician and that the apprentices weren't working up to their expectations in terms of speed and capabilities. "They physically aren't capable of handling your job." I'm just adding a few outlets. The journeyman was committed to MG&E and even though those requests were booked after me, it doesn't matter. The little guy loses and MG&E gets whatever they want. So basically they overbooked and since MG&E is more important, the soonest reschedule I could get is 4 months after I originally called. I didn't even get an apology. She often wouldn't let me speak without her interrupting me. Illnesses happen, I get that. That's why I was very understanding of the first no show. For the second no show, they've known their staffing levels, capabilities and commitments for weeks. They knew they couldn't complete my job. Instead of giving me notice, they just no showed and then argued with me about why they're not going to fit me in in front of customers who booked after me. I simply had to go to the end of the queue. TL;DR - they no showed on me twice for electrical work despite my significant expenditures on them earlier in the summer. Wouldn't adjust their schedules to fit me in. And argued and interrupted me despite them not cancelling until my appointment window was already done. read more

There was a hiccup with the tub getting back-ordered, but, Gary, the plumber, and their tiler were on site early on the Saturday morning before Easter to make sure the job was done. Amazing service. In the past they've been fine (even helpful) , but this time we got nailed with a $340 bill for snaking out a toilet -- it took 8 minutes.

All Comfort Services has been our go-to HVAC service company for at least 4 years now. They have fixed two AC units for us at two places and have done a great job servicing our furnaces as well. Three troubleshooting events really stick out in my mind... Chipmunks chewing through outdoor AC thermostat lines... smart home thermostat with insufficient power... recently identifying a defective gas meter (that the utility company confirmed and fixed). The only thing keeping me from making this a 5 star review is they are a bit pricey: their on call fee and diagnostic fee is calculated separately and a quick call is not cheap. But the money is well worth it when their knowledgeable team arrives quickly, on time, and gets the situation fixed asap. New feature! They now text and email a photo and the name of the tech making the service call. Great security feature and makes you feel more connected to their team. Will continue to recommend them to family/friends. read more

Very frustrated about my experience with All comfort and won't recommend it to anyone that I know. My fiancé called them and she was told that it costs $96 for a technician to come and diagnose why our AC stopped working and based on that number we chose them. When the technician came and after he finished his diagnosis, he told us that we have to pay $150 additional diagnosis fees that he didn't tell us about before. We decided to pay and complain later and not to proceed with any fix because we couldn't trust to do any further work with All comfort at that point. My fiancé call to complain ,spoke with Cameron and he clarified that the technician failed to let us know what the diagnosis effort will cost before starting it and letting us know that the $96 is just a dispatch fee!! We asked for a refund for the $150 and pay the $96 because that what we agreed on for their service. He refused to refund the 150$ and offered to refund the $96 instead !! I didn't agree on that resolution simply because I won't pay any extra money for the company's mistake. I will update this review as the situation goes. read more

Comfort Services quoted me a $1000 to change a circuit board in my furnace (its a c.a $150 part and 20-30 min labour). The technician that came out also gave me a quote for a furnace replacement for $4000, he then charged me a $100 dollar fee for just showing up and left. In contrast to this Warren Heating & Air Conditioning charged nothing to come and inspect my furnace, they quoted me $400 to replace the circuit board and inspect the rest of furnace (if I wanted to repair). They quoted me $1900 to replace the furnace. They showed up 8:00 the morning after and replaced my furnace in 3 hours. (great job Warren!) I am sure that All Comfort is very capable of delivering quality work. Their prices just felt very high to me. read more
