Capitol has been doing my plumbing for more than ten years now in my house plus two apartment buildings. Their service is consistently fast, honest, and professional. The first time I called them, Stan showed up at 07:50 a.m. for an appointment at 08:00 on a Saturday - but he hung out in his truck and waited until eight on the nose to knock on the door. I had a clog in my sink drain that was too far down for my snake to reach. He measured from the sink and the main, cut out a bit of pipe, cleaned it out, and then installed a T joint with a plug I could take out if I needed. Now, there's no part of the pipe I can't reach with the snake. That was the first of many great interactions. At this point, I tell them what the problem is, and they come fix whatever it is, and I pay them. I trust them so much that I don't need to talk to them before they fix something. read more

We needed to have a new kitchen faucet installed and a toilet inspected for a possible leaking seal and a Kohler bidet toilet seat installed. The plumber Capital sent was courteous and thoroughly professional. After an hour everything was done. We couldn't be happier with their service. read more

Follow up to previous post. After Capitol came out twice, for four hours each time, to try to fix my plumbing after installing a new hot water heater I called Avid plumbing. They came out the next day, found Capitol had not installed a bleeder valve, installed a valve and bled the line. All in 30 minutes. Everything works great. Cost me $170 but worth it to not have to deal with that jerk, Stan at Capitol. read more

I highly recommend Derek for your plumber. He fixed a problem with our shower that stumped our previous plumber. He is also an excellent communicator. read more

The invoice was about $400 higher than suggested by my friendly service person. When I inquired and asked for clarification, I was told to wait and Stan would get back to me. He did not. When a second bill arrived there was a $75 late fee. When I called to speak with Stan, he rebuffed my inquiry for clarification. He was rude. He interrupted multiple times. He said at first that he would keep the late fee, and only after I questioned his logic in that did he say that he "would consider it." I'm happy to pay, just curious why asking what the high bill was for is cause for Stan to be rude and consider unethical conduct. read more

Awesome company! Came on a Saturday before Christmas to fix my water heater. They were honest, very reasonable, and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again! read more

Called this morning after I noticed my outside spigot was leaking and frozen. Stan was very friendly and sent a team within 30 minutes. The two guys who arrived were great and finished the repair quickly. The talked to me in advance of doing any work and even provided cost estimates. Discussed options were and helped me decide the best course. The cost was reasonable and I will definitely call again if I need plumbing work. Thanks - Christine read more

Wonderful experience!!! This is the plumber for you! Our water heater went out and we had another plumber look at it, we weren't happy with his quote of the experience so we tried capital. Called in the morning, they scheduled at our convenience, were there on time. Very respectful of our house, put booties without us asking, very professional, explained everything. And the cost came in lower than the other plumber. I can't say enough good things, great experience out of a horrible situation. read more

We had a surprise leak, called Capitol, and they came immediately. They had the necessary parts and fixed the problem. Can't ask for more than that. read more

Great experience with these guys. Big thing for me is they showed up on time. Its rare that any types of services show up right when they say and don't give you like a 5 hr window. I believe his name was Aaron, he showed up a few minutes early. Super polite and friendly. Explained exactly what he was going to be doing. Price was very fair. I would highly recommend to anyone who asked me if I knew of a good plumbing service. read more

We've had Capitol Plumbing out at our place twice now, and each time they surpass our expectations. We've been truly pleased with the friendly, prompt, reasonably priced service. They even answer the phone after 5pm on a Friday, and show up the next day first thing! I will definitely recommend them to friends & family. read more

Thank you. Just wasted a week waiting to hear back from them. Started off great becasue they were willing to come out on Sat to start the quoting. I was told that they would get back to me with a quote on Monday and do the work Wednesday morning. So Monday and nothing, then Tuesday and nothing. So i call and was told that they will get back to me first thing Wednesday morning. Wednesday came and nothing, Thursday came and nothing, Friday came and nothing. It 10pm Sat. So Monday I get to call a new company and start the process over again. And what pissed me off the most is I could not have made it any more clear to them that i need the work done by May 23rd becasue the house was sold. Waste of a week! How do you get offered work and just never call or show up. Not ever a sorry we are not interested in the work. What a joke! read more

Aaron was very helpful and explanatory. He also went above and beyond on several occasions about questions and concerns that I had. Very happy with this company and their work replacing my water heater. Thanks so much! read more

Capitol Plumbing has been beyond helpful when we have had plumbing troubles. I don't need to ask twice and they get the job done and done correctly. They clean up after themselves, the craftsmanship of their work is top notch, and the owner and employees are great people. read more

While showering this morning I caught my diamond earring and it popped off and went down the drain. I was devastated as they were a gift from my husband who is now deceased and I have worn them for 27 years. Stan inquired if they were valuable or sentimental because the cost may not be worth it. I explained that they were both. He said a plumber would be out as soon as possible. He followed up saying one was on his way. 20 minutes after arriving he retrieved the earring much to my surprise. Very prompt service and understanding of my situation. I definitely would have them again. read more

Over the last 11 years, they have rooted our main drain, put in a water heater, replaced three different faucets, and fixed a clog we couldn't get at with our own tools. Fast, friendly, honest plumbers doing quality work at a good price. Once they fix a problem, it's fixed. You can trust Capitol: they respect their customers, and deserve their customers' respect. read more

Capitol Plumbing has helped me out twice this month, once to install a water heater and then to come replace an outside spigot. Both repairmen who came out were friendly, professional, and thorough. I'm glad to recommend Capitol Plumbing! read more

Capitol Plumbing had been a huge disappointment. In fact they are the worst business I have ever worked with. They have consistently showed up hours after they told us they would be there. What was worse was the level respect that we were treated with as soon as we signed a work contract. Their management staff has consistently been rude, disrespectful, and unpleasant to work with, always offering excuses and blaming us for the bumps in the work. They have shown no respect for our time. They have been consistently under prepared for the work and had to come back several times to get the job done (installing a new water heater and tank). Aside from the unbelievable lack of professionalism, their craftsmanship was also subpar. They attempted to put flimsy roofing plywood surrogate on top of a couple of unreinforced wooden beams as structural support under a water tank that weighs hundreds of pounds. They showed no interest in trying to work with us to fix this when we expressed safety concerns and we had to get the structure fixed ourselves before they proceeded with the plumbing, even though this was a part of their contract terms to provide the structural support. They lied to use about parts costs (quoting prices over 10x the actual cost). They will likely offer up many more excuses in response to this review, but that is to be expected from such an unprofessional establishment. read more

We scheduled an appointment with Capital Plumbing in Madison for a new hot water heater. They had installed our last hot water heater 13 years ago and we were satisfied with their work and pricing. The day before the plumber was scheduled to arrive, we tried to dispose of some old Metamucil down the kitchen drain and it clogged our drain. The plumber installed the new hot water heater in no time and proceeded to unclog the kitchen sink drain. "Do not attempt to dispose of Metamucil down a drain," Throw it in the garbage. Jeff the plumber from Capital City certainly went the extra mile for us to unclog our drain and even had to run some new plastic drain piping to remedy our mistake. We were afraid to open their bill, but the billing was more than fair and we will recommend Capital Plumbing in Madison to all of our friends and neighbors. read more

Today was the third time we've used Capitol Plumbing in the last three years and I couldn't be much happier. Prompt, friendly, quick, tidy and effective! They come when they are needed. Today that was just an hour after I first called. Stan had said they would be here within an hour to hour and a half, but they got here in an hour and jumped right into the job of replacing some clogged cast and galvanized drain fittings in the basement. The job took less than an hour, and the problem was solved, the area cleaned up, and after a friendly "thanks and have a great day" all done. I can't comment on cost because I neglected to ask, but they've been very fair in the past. One of the plumbers was Doug, and I didn't catch the other guy's name, but they did great work. By the way, I like businesses where they answer the phone with the company name and the person's name. Thanks Stan, keep up the great job! read more
