We hired them to install vinyl in our basement. On the day of install didn't show because of a…read morebroken down truck. When they did show up, the said that we needed "additional material" that wasn't quoted. We later learned that this material is ALWAYS needed. The work was all done incorrectly, and now our floors look like there are bubbles and chunky material underneath them. The room has tongue and groove dark wood walls and the vinyl flooring was a "wood look." We paid them to replace the shoe molding, and they actually put in WHITE shoe molding with wood walls, baseboards and flooring. They then tried to act like that was acceptable, but were willing to change them. When they did come to change them, they removed the white but didn't bother to clean off all the white caulk. We had to get another contractor to do that. To fix the floors, we will have to completely move all of the furniture out and have them completely redone. For the upstairs of our home, we wanted to get a little shine to our hardwood floors that were in really good shape. After speaking with the salesman, we decided that the best option for us was to do a buff and a coat of polyurethane. We had just had some other construction work done, so the floors needed to be cleaned. I asked if I needed to have the floors cleaned, and he said no since they were gong to buff the floors. When I came to inspect the work after completion, there were large black shoe scuffs, dirt, and even a piece of red ribbon sealed underneath the polyurethane coating. It virtually looked like they had just put a coat of polyurethane on top of the floors without doing any cleaning or prep at al! It looks horrible! At first they tried to say that all of that was underneath the previous coating of polyurethane, but quickly had to back track when I reminded him that the previous work had been done a few years earlier by THEIR company. He then said that this is what you get when you do a buff and coat, and that that is why they really don't like to even do that process. Do you think he said that to me when he was selling the service?. He even explained the red ribbon and said that the buffer swirls things in the air and when they land it gets sealed over? Really? Do you think that he explained that to me BEFORE I had the work done? Plus, I know that the dirt and shoe scuffs would have come up. Now we are in the position to have to have all the floors completely sanded down and refinished, which will not only be expensive, but we will have to completely move all of our furniture out and we will have to move out, as well. All of this after having just moved in a few months ago! In addition to that, floors can only be sanded down so many times, so this will actually take some of the life from the floors needlessly, since they were in good shape to start with. All the floors in our home are ruined at this point. We tried everything to work it out with them...even offering for them to just refund our 50% deposit. . When my husband met with the owner, his only goal was to gouge us for more money, and even went as far as to say that he "had to make money." We have been left with no other alternative than to hire an attorney. This has been, by far, the worst experience we have ever had dealing with any contractor

A renter was in there with temporary plywood countertops. Jen and GK jumped right on it and helped out. They came out the next day (they drove from Kennesaw to Buford at 4:30 p.m.), and I just heard from Jen and they are installing the countertops today!!! Wow!! a 48-hour turnaround. The granite is beautiful and it was $420 cheaper than the other contractor. A win-win, for sure. I would HIGHLY recommen GK for any project you have. I will definitely use them again. Josh and his co-workers were very patient and answered all my questions and took care of my needs. I live in midtown, and they were nicer than any other employees I have ever encountered in the midtown area. Josh personally took time to help me measure and select my purchase. They even have an inside basketball goal that you can shoot hoops while you wait on them to finish your order! They are a great group of guys! I will remember my experience if I ever have flooring needs in the future (or am just looking to shoot hoops!)

After getting 2 quotes from other hardwood installers and not feeling comfortable with either (one…read moretoo high and one with lots of red flags), I found Atlanta Floor Store. Their knowledge and professionalism were apparent from my first meeting with them and their quote was right in the middle of the other two. They demo'd my existing floors (carpet and ceramic tile), replaced the existing subflooring with new plywood subflooring, and installed, stained and finished the hardwoods in my living room, dining room, den, foyer and front hall as well as in the upstairs hallway, all while we were living in the house. It was a challenging job, with substantial differences in floor elevations between rooms, but they expertly leveled them and made the transitions between new floors and old floors smooth so that there was no need for raised transitions at doorways that would create tripping hazards. Josh very patiently answered all my questions about hardwood species, finish options, acclimating the wood before installation, the demo and installation process, and more and clearly explained how they would address all of the issues. He and his team were great at scheduling and communicating, showed up when they said they would, and finished ahead of schedule with no suprises when it came to paying for the work. Josh stayed involved throughout the project to ensure that all my concerns were addressed. He and his team were true professionals and made customer satisfaction their top priority. I am so pleased with my new floors. I highly recommend Atlanta Floor Store!
