But they came back, did the advanced (deeper) enzyme treatment I had originally booked, and refunded me for the hassle, which I really appreciated. Both times the techs were pleasant and efficient. I also appreciated that, prior to treatment, they used a black light to thoroughly assess the problem. One thing to know is that the smell can actually get worse for a few days after deep enzyme cleaning (which really surprised me!). Keeping the windows closed at first, then airing out, running two air purifiers on turbo, and vacuuming thoroughly really helped. Vacuuming is so important because it lifts leftover VOC particles that cause "ghost smell" even after enzyme treatment. I also used an odor powder (Rocco & Roxie) over the carpet, left it for 24 hours, then vacuumed again. Blocking off the area with aluminum foil and barriers helped stop my cat from re-marking the same spots too. In the end, Citrus Fresh helped me save my carpet. I'd recommend them -- just know to stick with it, ask for the advanced treatment and be patient if you have a tough pet mess like mine!

He was also flexible in additional requests we had along the way (like asking for a final glossy coat to finish the wood floors). I was originally going to replace carpet with LVP but found wood floors under the carpet! We chose to have the wood floors refinished and stained and they turned out fantastic! It looks like a completely new space. The job was scheduled within a few days and was completed on schedule. The not-so-good: the main thing that irked me was that he put our furniture on top of our other furniture. When I've hired Stanley Steamer before they come with 2 guys who move all the heavy furniture around and place everything on these pad-looking things. They never put things on top of things. They also ask you to move the smaller things out of the way. Also, he also wasn't able to get out of a couple of minor stains. I'd say he was about as expensive as Stanley Steamer, but not as effective. All and all, he was a nice guy but his methodology is questionable.

He went around the house and said that we had 10 areas and 32 stairs. He also had some blue light that showed him urine. We just bought this house and the owners before had a large dog. Because of that he added $250. The original quote was $420, but when he came he said it would be $700. Which was high but it was fine as long as there wouldn't be any urine and stains on the carpet. We agreed to the price and he started his job. We have a big house over 4,000 square feet, so we thought this would take him the whole day. He started at 9:30 and was done by 12:30. Both me and my mom were confused and thought how could he be done so quickly. He tried showing us pictures on his phone of before and after, and to be honest we didn't notice much of a difference. I didn't take before pictures but I've attached the after pictures. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe it's because it's still wet and we should wait till it dries to see a difference. No the carpet looked exactly the same.
