Several years have passed since I decided to renovate my master bathroom. Maybe I shouldn't have spent the two years prior "thinking" about a new bathroom because now four years later, I'm finding supply chain issues and stock problems. I visited all the major home improvement stores to look at tile, countertops, vanities, bathtubs, toilets, etc., only to be told almost everything is out of stock or has outrageously long wait times. My contractor (who needs his own five star review) told me about HV Tile & Stone. It was easy to make an appointment and when I arrived with my ideas and specs in hand, Don Wernecke was eager for my business. Within 30 minutes, I had a good plan in place for my bathroom and had shower/tub/floor tile and grout all picked out and drawn up to order. The showroom is very organized and I appreciated so many choices in tile. Don put all the samples on a work bench table for me to see it all together and this allowed me to envision luxurious baths in what could become my favorite room in the house. This place has everything you need for tiling. Great sample tiles and excellent customer service. And, just because it's Smalltimore, we figured out we have several close friends in common!

I dropped my lamp off in February and didn't pick it up until July. Throughout the process, I had to repeatedly call for updates. If I hadn't been following up myself, I'm not convinced the repair would have ever been completed. The lack of communication and customer service was extremely frustrating. A significant price increase, combined with a five-month turnaround and almost no proactive updates, made this a very poor experience. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this shop based on my experience.

But everything went great with Floors Etc. I got an estimate, met them at their showroom, picked my flooring and took a sample home, set up a date for install, and they showed up on time! They got the work done in a timely manner and it looks great. They were out of stock of the stair floor nosings, but got them and installed then a couple days later so no big deal. I am very happy with my choice.

I'm so glad I had Floors do the installation. The crew, from designer to field supervisor to installation crew, were outstanding: on time, highly professional and so very skilled, efficient, friendly and overall, people I felt lucky to meet. And the plumber they recommended (Fabian) to do the refrigerator/stove water/gas/electric disconnect/reconnect was also great. I love the finished product and recommend Floors without reservation!

I walked in, said I wanted to just browse, and was immediately given a 20 minute tour of their huge warehouse space. What you see out front is just the front door. I spent quite a while looking thru everything and then bought the slabs in my picture. All 2+ feet high and 2+ inches thick. All of that for $220 with their weekend sale. I really like that everything they sell is truly reclaimed wood, mostly from fallen trees or areas where trees are being removed and would then be otherwise thrown out or burned. My haul from left to right: - Black Walnut - Ash - 2 White Oak from the same cut so I can somehow book match them - Sycamore (need to read more about this) - And a Red Oak cutoff they threw in for free. This is from the Monocacy Civil War Battlefield. Some trees were being cleared and were ready to be thrown away!!! Really unique. Will definitely be returning!!!
