If I hadn't been following up myself, I'm not convinced the repair would have ever been completed. The lack of communication and customer service was extremely frustrating. A significant price increase, combined with a five-month turnaround and almost no proactive updates, made this a very poor experience. On September 22 2025, my mother and I had these guys do 7 windows for us and its been a nightmare…read moretrying to get them to straighten it out. 5 out of 7 windows are installed misaligned, meaning they literally are not centered in any shape, form or fashion to the foundation wall. This is both visible from outside and especially inside. You can clearly/easily see how one side of each window will be all the way in and one side will be all the way out. 3 windows have damage to the vent screens with 1 of those vent screens actually having a tear in the screen where the corner of a another glass block window actually scratched the vent glass itself. How do I know this? I watched them unload all 7 windows out of the back of a Buick towncar where they couldn't even be bothered to put something in-between each window to help avoid accidental transportation damage. Also one window has chipped glass on the exterior of the window. 6 out of 7 windows have visible product barcodes that you can see in every angle that you look at the windows which is ludicrous that they thought that was acceptable to the customer. Their installers installed damaged windows that they had to have seen/known at the time and just didn't care. Their installers also left me a slop mess under the 1 bathroom wall window with mortar all over the place. My mother and I have called, emailed and I have went to their place of business which was unbelievably closed around noon on a Friday. The owner stated in a email on October 19th that they would make it right which still hasn't happened as of November 2 2025. We would have never used this company had we would have known that we were going to have damaged windows, crooked installations and a plethora of lovely barcodes to look at forever. To add insult to injury it sucks being told your right that they need to make it right and nothing ever happening as a result of it. I have tried to avoid filing a mhic claim but I have to at this stage as they are avoiding both my mother and I at all costs. I would like to make a point in stating that I have not called repeatedly every day all day, I have given a bare minimum of 4 to 5 days at a time to get a response and that just hasn't happened. We want them to either remanufactor every window or refund us as we didn't pay 2802.00 for this kind of sloppy work. I hope this helps someone else as what they did to us is unacceptable and they are doing nothing about it besides dragging it out further with no resolution. When you see this Mr. Scott Fava, I've been incredibly patient, please call one of us and either cut a check and refund us or remanufactor these windows and make it right. Update 11/10/25, we dug into Mr. Fava hard and found he lost his MHIC license in Februrary 2025, he has a 213,000 dollar IRS judgement against him, he has new and prior claims against him and it would seem he hasn't paid any of his debts in a long time. Do Not Under Any Circumstances give this jackass any of your money, time or consideration for his work as he isn't licensed and is literally out here robbing peter to pay paul as we are fairly certain he did this shit to us just as a quick money grab to pay down his judgements against him. Absolutely ridiculous, we did a pretty good overall look at Maryland Glass Block before we did business with them and wish we would have looked into Mr. Fava personally a lot harder. He robbed us of over 2800 with his silicone constructed, misaligned and barcode laden windows all while promising us he would make it right. His failure to make it right for us is going to result in another lawsuit as he committed a fraudulent act against us personally by operationing under the guise of being a legitimate business when he was no longer licensed. I will update this as the matter proceeds. We have already started the process.

He gave pretty comparable pricing and told me I could get a shipment within 3 days. All cabinets would come built and I would just need someone to install it. CON: Well, when I decided to order my cabinets, Bud was on vacation and the other guy couldn't take my order. Then the cabinets took longer than a 3-day delivery because of the day I ended up ordering it on. The cabinets also arrived late on delivery day. Bud told me there was traffic. The guys end up telling me it was because they were short staff. I love honesty....no need to lie. So, my contractors ended up waiting around for 3 hours...not fair to them. PRO: Bud tried to make it up to me. A couple of pieces did not come in and I ended up needing an additional filler that he did not charge me for. I also ended up having to order another filler and that came in a timely manner and I picked it up from their showroom. Overall good experience, just need to tighten up ordering and delivery.

Then came and installed and the crew showed up the day written on the contract and we could not be happier with the results. I followed up by email and two weeks later was told they didn't understand what I wanted. I responded with a very simplified request. Two weeks went by with no response. I went back in person with a template and very detailed specifics of a greatly simplified request. After listening to the owner and one of his workers loudly f-bombing each other for 10 minutes the person at the counter again took all of my information in a spiral notebook, made me shout the dimensions because the f-bombing in the background was so loud. Then she said that I'd have to leave the only template that I had just to get an estimate. Nope, nope, nope.

I emailed Homerite and heard back immediately from Kevin who scheduled an appointment to give us an estimate. I had done my research on Homerite before contacting Kevin and felt comfortable knowing he had a slew of good reviews and was part of the BBB. I received multiple quotes from different companies and decided to go with Kevin since he only has a specific crew of people he works with and was able to match the price I got from Andersen. It was a bit pricey, but I believe I got the best quality for the price and it was worth it! Kevin was easy to work, and once I signed the contract, his crew was at my house and installed the door in a day! Homerite's doors are Miliken which may not be as reknown as Andersen or Pella but their product is great! I chose the Miliken fiberglass oak door (there is a light woodgrain texture to it so it looks like a wood door) and I was able to choose different colors for the inside and outside. I opted for tricorn black on the outside and urbane bronze on the inside. Kevin's crew also installed a new satin nickel door knocker and keypad lock to my door. He also made sure the hinges were satin nickel to match. Such attention to detail and for a door, it looks phenomenal! The crew also installed a framesaver jamb that is made of a composite material in order to prevent water damage and rot. We have had the door for over two years now and it really stands out on our block. Black door against red brick looks fantastic. We recently had some slight peeling on the paint on the jamb (the door still looks brand new!) and I emailed Kevin and he came by the next day just to make sure everything was still in order. He dropped off a can of matching paint for me (July 2012) so I could do a touchup on my own--having had the door installed January 2010--that's phenomenal service! I couldn't recommend Homerite enough!

You get half of what they sell it for. For me this is nice. Rather than sell each item myself, along with waiting for those that are late or never arrive and haggle when they do, I drop them in one place. There's a website where I'm able to see what I've got there and the status, available and sold and what they got for it. Every month a check is issued. They sell items in the store and some items on line. They also sell antiques tools if you're a collector and fishing equipment. I've referred co-workers and friends to the shop.
