Chris, the owner, was very responsive and friendly. His quote was slightly lower but quite similar to the other companies who responded, and we decided to go with him based on the price, his responsiveness, and the reviews on here (particularly the previous review with the seam repair, as the "before" seam looked exactly like ours!). Scheduling was straightforward and we were able to get our ideal day/time the following week. Two guys arrived on time and they got to work right away to fix all of the issues. They were here for quite awhile, and worked really hard to get everything looking great. The seam is now closed up and is MUCH less obvious. The two stone pieces were also uneven, with one jutting out past the other, and they completely fixed it- you would never know! The cracks and chips are all sealed and barely visible, and we haven't had any issues with the counters since their visit. Chris sent us a link before our visit so that we could pay by credit card at the end of the visit (otherwise we could have paid by cash or check). Overall, two thumbs up and we will definitely be calling them in the future if we have any issues with our counters!

The first visit went so well! I was able to get multiple things fixed and scheduled a larger job which was basically a bathroom Reno due to a leaking pipe. The work started off great and the team was really communicative. Then we ran into a small issue where I felt some work was improperly completed and wanted to work through it and that's where it all fell apart. The receptionist was extremely accusatory at first but did eventually call to apologize and I hoped things would be better. Once I talked to the owner he seemed really understanding and accommodating and even sent me a really thoughtful response as they were working though the issues with me so I had high hopes that we would fix the issue and continue on with the work, only they just stopped communicating with me completely. I would have fully understood if they came to a conclusion and explained to me why but they chose to do nothing and that was really disappointing. Now I have a half finished bathroom and construction debris that they left behind that I'm having to pay a new person to finish the work and clean up behind them. The worst part is I had already referred them to a friend of mine who needed some work done and had to go back and tell her, never mind because if you can't trust them with a minor inconvenience how can you trust them with a major job?! I will say if you just need some minor handyman work then go for it because it doesn't seem like my experience with them is their normal experience, but be leery and keep every record along the way.

We were fully expecting to have to repair our electric dog fence upon completion, but they worked very carefully to preserve it - and took good care with our landscaping. He showed up when he said he would and finished when he said he would. We have gotten a lot of compliments from neighbors.

We had several problems working with Scott Loewenstein at Wholesale Cabinet Distributors. First, he…read moredid not want to drive to Virginia to deliver the cabinets, so we paid more to have them sent directly from the manufacturer. We live on a narrow street that is lined with public parking, and the cabinets arrived in a truck that was too large to fit down the street. I called Scott and asked him what he was going to do, and he told me he didn't know, it had never happened before. I was left to work out delivery options with the frustrated truck driver instead of with my salesperson, and delivery was delayed, thus delaying installation. Second, there were issues with the measurements. Scott's design included a corner cabinet that didn't fit through the kitchen door, even though he had the measurement of that opening. The contractor had to cut the cabinet to get it into the room, thus invalidating our warranty. The cabinet over the refrigerator also did not fit, it was too large for the space. When Scott was told, instead of offering to get us a smaller unit, he blamed our contractor, insisting that if we had hired competent workers, they would be able to cut a cabinet with full-overlay doors to fit a smaller space. The contractor had to cut the refrigerator panel, and the cabinet looks misaligned. Third, when the dust settled and we looked at the itemized list on our invoice, we realized that this Maryland business charged us Maryland State retail sales tax despite delivery and installation of the product in the Commonwealth of Virginia. When we called the Maryland Department of Taxation, we received confirmation that the charge was illegally made. Complaints via email, phone, certified mail, and via the Better Business Bureau were met with excuses, denials, and refusal to refund our money. Wholesale Cabinet Distributors changed their story several times telling us this charge was 1. a legitimate Maryland retail tax charge, 2. a handling charge, 3. a keying error, and finally 4. a legitimate Virginia retail tax charge. They then told told the BBB in writing that our complaint was a "non-issue" that had been resolved (Case# 36144762.) We are now having to pursue our refund via legal channels. You may have an excellent experience with this company. If you have a problem with Wholesale Cabinet Distributors, however, you can learn from our experience how it will be handled.

I walked in, said I wanted to just browse, and was immediately given a 20 minute tour of their huge warehouse space. What you see out front is just the front door. I spent quite a while looking thru everything and then bought the slabs in my picture. All 2+ feet high and 2+ inches thick. All of that for $220 with their weekend sale. I really like that everything they sell is truly reclaimed wood, mostly from fallen trees or areas where trees are being removed and would then be otherwise thrown out or burned. My haul from left to right: - Black Walnut - Ash - 2 White Oak from the same cut so I can somehow book match them - Sycamore (need to read more about this) - And a Red Oak cutoff they threw in for free. This is from the Monocacy Civil War Battlefield. Some trees were being cleared and were ready to be thrown away!!! Really unique. Will definitely be returning!!!
