He recommended OxyShred Hardcore--and wow. I used it at the gym and had clean, focused energy. After leg day, I usually struggle through cardio, but I was able to sprint 30 seconds on and off instead of just walking on an incline. My mental focus was noticeably better and I got through my workout way more efficiently. He also recommended a women's creatine with collagen and biotin, which I didn't even know existed! In my youth (never mind the wisecracks), I would be in the gym 5-days a week so visiting this muscle store was sort of fun like going down memory lane! But that was then and this is now (as the French say) ... today I needed a protein powder that fit my current diet.... mainly no soy, no sugar, and no carbs or other man-made chemicals. Most all powders contain soy but soy is a toxin for some (like me). I was able to find a great powder without soy, milk, sugar or carbs! I liked how the only sweetener used was 1g of Stevia root which has a zero-glycemic index. The price was a bit steep ($42 for 2 lbs) but I might be back when my current supply (different brand) runs out. Enjoyed talking to the knowledgeable young man behind the counter (who looked like he could bench press my car for a warm up without sweating!). Very happy to know this resource is close by in the neighborhood. And the former weightlifter in me? I messaged Jason, the owner, via Facebook and got a quick response to any of the questions I had regarding the wall-mounted set up. It was hard to tell what it was like through pictures so I had asked if there was a way my husband and I could see one on island to check out the quality. Jason was quick to invite us to his home to check one that was already installed. We even got to meet his wife who was super sweet! (Don't worry, we all stayed six feet apart and wore masks. We were there for about 30-40 minutes asking questions.) Jason was really thorough with explaining to us about the rack. Once we saw the quality of the rack and how it was installed, we felt it would be a good investment. With COVID and the gyms shut down, we felt this was a better option for us. In the long run, the use of it would offset what we would have paid for a gym membership. While there, we also noticed bars, a bench, and weights you can purchase. Jason gave us no pressure to buy anything else and explained other equipment he had like a kettlebell with adjustable weight which was perfect for me. We ended up putting a deposit down for the rack, a bench, one bar, a couple weights, and the adjustable kettlebell. These are ordered and shipped to Hawaii. You pay a deposit per item and when you arrange to pick up you can pay (ours will be some time the end of October). I'll update with pics when the equipment arrives. Also, just a note this isn't the rack that lifts up to the ceiling. I would highly recommend reaching out to see it it person. We have a low ceiling and many of the racks my husband and I checked beforehand would not have had enough clearance for us to install onto our wall. Thank you Jason!

I'd give five stars except the website failed to mention the box doesn't come assembled. It's straightforward to put it together but takes time. Some tips on assembly also would have helped make sure our edges were all precise. It came with gloves and a screwdriver, which is a nice touch, but I'd have preferred it was assembled already. Or maybe an option to pay more to purchase it assembled. They're filling a gap locally for home gym equipment, and I'm glad to have another local business option!
