Our Christmas Day dinner at Hard Rock Cafe turned into a truly memorable experience. From start to finish, everything was delightful -- the service, the drinks, and the food were all spot on. The live rock music paired with festive holiday vibes made the evening even more special and lively, perfectly capturing the spirit of Christmas in Key West. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome and well taken care of, which really elevated the entire experience. The kids absolutely loved their meals, and the Messi figurine toy that came with the kids' meal was the cherry on top -- it made their day even more exciting. Food-wise, we highly recommend the Margherita Flatbread and the "One Night in Bangkok" spicy shrimp -- both were excellent and definite must-tries for visitors. This location marks my 11th HRC visit, so I feel I have a little bit of knowledge about the brand. First, the set up. The restaurant has two components: indoors and outdoors. The indoors section looks like what used to be a old, possibly Victorian house, remade into a restaurant. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to look inside, as we opted to sit outside. Outside seating was in the front "yard" which was a huge patio-like area encompassing the width of the property. You are literally on Duval street (the main drag) and have visual access to everything going on: the traffic, foot and vehicle, the partying, the different music... it's a great spot for people watching. There are tables of all sizes, so they can accomodate slightly larger parties. We were a group of six and got a table right away. We had an umbrella, but I didn't take notice if every table did. As you look at the restaurant, off to the left side is the gift shop and outdoor bar. The merchandise here is limited in variety compared to other HRCs I've been to, but I attribute that to the size of the shop. Of course I picked up a traditional white t-shirt for my collection, as well as some goodies for the hubs. This is also where you collect your souvenir glass, if you bought one with your dinner drink. The bar had seating and some tables in front of it as an extension. On to the food. Now, if you've been to an HRC, you know that the food can be meh. Edible, but not the best thing you've ever eaten. I was blown away in Key West. The Spicy Diablo Smash Burger was calling my name, and it was freakin' delicious! I don't remember many meals, much less hamburgers, but dang, that one stuck with me! It had Pepper Jack cheese, pickled jalapenos, and a spicy mayonnaise. I love food with a kick that retains it's flavor, and this burger did exactly that. My drink was called Margarita Rita, and my souvenir glass was a tiki glass with the HRC logo on it. It was rimmed with Tajin, which was another spicy element, also delicious. I can honestly say that this location is one HRC that I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to. Our server was a very nice guy who was cracking jokes with us, giving us advice on menu items, and just generally hustlin' his butt to make sure we were happy. We were. Grabbed lunch here yesterday. It had been 5 years since I was here. Everything was the same. I sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and attentive. We were chatting it up about local politics, since I live at the other end of the county. Good convo! The nachos were huge. I didn't get any meat on them or guacamole. It was unnecessary. After walking the entire length of Duval Street in both direction I was ready for a refreshment, we stopped in at the Hard Rock outside bar located just a few feet off the sidewalk. Lawrence was tending bar and he had a few customers from the cruise ship that was in port for the day so those folks had the same intentions as us - something cold and some shade for this unusually warm day in late November. We ordered a ice cold Dos Equis and a Fresh Made Margarita after grabbing a stool at the bar that was shaded by a giant umbrella. Lawrence was very entertaining as he schooled those of us not from Key West but quickly found our that although we weren't locals we have been coming here long before he decided to move to paradise. He's a great part of the staff here and made our stay very enjoyable and was very attentive and grateful that we stopped in. This is a pretty cool venue that allows you to get the Hard Rock experience without ever entering the main establishment - if you're not looking to eat I highly recommend this small annex (maybe they serve food here but it looked like everyone was more interested in drinking). It's a great place to chill and people watch being there is a never ending line of people walking pass, it's very entertaining and I'll definitely repeat this experience in the future... read more

I'll say this right off the bat, I had chicken tenders and fries like a child...didn't love them. I can't blame them completely because I had trouble eating the whole time on my trip to the Keys but the texture wasn't for me. My mom's nachos looked absolutely divine though and my fries were great! Ranch was also on point. Now as far as ambiance goes, I haven't been to many Hard Rock Cafes, I don't know if they all have music artifacts in them but as a Linkin Park fan, I was so excited to see their display! Also saw a couple other cool things that I added as pictures to this review. Only thing I'll say...they could have some fans going inside a bit more haha. Oh, also wanted to say that the music is always on but not too loud which is a nice contrast to the outdoors at times, architecture inside is also gorgeous. As far as the service goes, I have zero complaints whatsoever, our waiter was one of the nicest most chill waiters I've ever had. Believe I saw the manager or owner at times too and he was very friendly and charismatic. Good vibes at the Hard Rock at Key West all around! Some might say not to go here if you're on a trip to Key West and get something more local but if you're not feeling overly adventurous food wise, this is the best option I found! The outside hostess was very nice and jokingly yelled to the bartender we have some thirsty customers he ignored her then said I can't hear you. We went to the outside bar area and ordered drinks from the unfriendly bartender who acted as it was an effort for him to serve us. After we received our drinks we noticed Happy hour started at 5 pm the time was 4:57 pm. Yes I know it was not 5 pm but would it had hurt to tell us to wait 2 minutes. By the way we were the only ones at the bar so it wasn't he was in a rush. Anyway there are several bars on Duval Street so we took our drinks and visited other bars. read more

I would strongly recommend the noodle bowl with salmon; it was so delicious and refreshing mixing the cold noodles with the salmon with just a little heat combined with the vegetables. However, after ordering an appetizer and two entrées, we noticed that are entrées arrived, but never saw the appetizer. Going to Key West is like a "box of chocolates" - "You never know what you're gonna get..!". Unfortunately, it has taken a toll due to Covid with numerous bars and stores closed or going out of business. While this Hard Rock on Duval Street is still up and running, it doesn't meet up to the expectations of its once heydays or other locations. Restaurant -- Clean and ample. Aside from our party of 6, the place was pretty empty. Drinks -- The signature cocktails were pretty weak. Ordered a Long Island Ice Tea and couldn't really taste any of the liquors but very well could savor the water from the melting ice. Food - Ordered: *The Tupelo Chicken Tenders which were a bit overly fried and battered. *Grilled Chicken Sandwich was average tasting and lacked greatness. *BBQ Pulled Pork was plentiful and smothered with tons of BBQ sauce. *Classic Nachos - Ok but don't think it merited the $14 cost (protein add'l cost) due its small/medium portion. The menu is limited and prices are high but tell me what's not overpriced in Key West so it gets a pass on the cost. Upside - the food was photograph worthy; unfortunately, it wasn't taste worthy too. Service - Nice enough to earn a tip but didn't merit anything extra. Shop -- If you blink, you miss it. Hard Rock Cafe Key West is one of last standing US locations of the brand with the classic decor and style, whereas newer locations have gone with more modern and trendy interiors. While I did not dine here on my most recent visit, this review is solely based on the uniqueness and charm of this very unique Hard Rock Cafe. Set right in the heart of the tourist/dining/nightlife part of Duval St, this location is set inside a classic looking old home typical of Key West. There is ample porch & outdoor seating if you want to people watch or just enjoy a nice breeze. The interior has multiple floors of seating, making excellent use of the house architecture while infusing in the classic Hard Rock Cafe design. Memorabilia adorns many of the smaller interior rooms and the staircase has a beautiful Beatles stained glass window (something which has not been included in the construction of newer Hard Rock locations). While the food menu itself has gotten smaller over the years and has not made strides to innovate or better itself, the Hard Rock Cafe Key West is worth a visit solely just on the classic setting and architecture alone, even if for just dessert/drinks or a visit to the well stocked Rock Shop. Unfortunately the company has raised its prices of Rock Shop items (the bottle opener which was $12 for many years is now up to $14.50), so I've stopped buying some of the collectibles I used to purchase at their locations. Our server was super friendly and we ordered Mojitos and Espresso martini; both were prepared perfectly. This is a really nice place to sit and relax, and people watch. We ended up here twice. The first time was with a pub crawl. Once our pub crawl host mentioned the drink of choice and handed out our drink tickets, I went to the bar and placed my order. Luckily, I was the first in the group to get my drink. Once the bartender realized we were part of a pub crawl, he actively ignored our group of 12. He even went so far as to ignore our guide to try to get a drink order for the couple that had literally just sat at the bar. When the couple pointed out that our guide had been patiently waiting, the bartender made a comment that he was gonna take care of his customers before a pub crawl. Now I get that making 12 of the same drink might be annoying but the business shouldn't be part of the pub crawl if it's that much of an issue. Apparently this location on the pub crawl is always an issue. The 2nd time we were here was later in the week and we had the same bartender. Once again, he seemed annoyed that we had come to the bar and placed an order. We all ordered fairly simple drinks and requested one check to make it as easy as possible. It still took over 45 minutes to get 4 drinks and a check. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to go back. There were too many other bars in the area that we had a great time at. read more
