There was…read moreonly one other customer in the place at the time, a pair of travelers who looked like they were camping out. This is basically a beach shack where people spending some time on the beach can go for a bite to eat... however, the menu is pretty substantial, and there are a lot of good items on it to try if you are in the area. We weren't all that hungry, but we knew that we needed something to tide us over for the afternoon until supper rolled around, so we ordered a pair of their Oktoberfest Sausages which are served on a hoagie bun and sauerkraut. These absolutely hit the spot! The sauerkraut ratio was perfect, something that Americans just can't seem to get right (they always seem to overdo it... sauerkraut on a hot dog or sausage should be used as a taste enhancement, not as something to drown out everything else!) We left feeling quite fulfilled, and were happy that they were open and able to serve us with something so tasty.

Arrived at 6:30 and they close at 8:00pm. My wife order the salmon roll and I had the fish cakes. Both were outstanding. For a beach bar these people have got a good thing going and congrats to the kitchen staff for creating some quality food.

We were cheerfully greeted at the door and promptly taken to a table for our meal. The kids menu did not disappoint, with high quality pasta presented elegantly in a curved bowl. Salads and sandwiches, including one lobster roll, also met expectations. The chowder was rated 10/10, on account of light broth combined with hearty pieces of seafood. The one area for improvement was the unfortunate failure to distinguish between brands of cola when ordering. Despite asking for Coke, we were brought Pepsi without the requisite warning. Would return!

The Arnold Palmer was basically a raspberry lemonade with barely a hint of tea. We had appetizers - she was able to sub scallops for the shrimp(due to our allergies). We had the seafood medley and 2 mini tourtierres. The seafood was good, the smoked salmon was dyed a purple color. The scallops were good, cooked a tad bit too long, but still tasty. The beef tarts were dry and the pastry tough. While our server was enjoyable and pleasant, the appetizers were not the best, and for the price, we won't be back. Head down to the Italian restaurant (Vicinato) - you won't be disappointed!

Might be different if it were super busy. Everyone there was uber nice and friendly and had a smile for us. We sat outside - it was a blustery day, and were offered to have more of the clear sheeting pulled down if it was too much. We were protected enough from the wind, so we were good. And let me tell you, best best best clam chowder I have had in years. Diced clams (loaded) potatoes (diced smaller than the clams) celery and spiced perfectly. The liquid was full of flavour, not thick and creamy like you find most places, more soup like and delicious. The garlic toast was good as well. The lemonade was not sickeningly sweet. Perfect 16 oz bowl of chowder and drink to boot.

I ordered the cold lobster roll while my husband had the warm version, and both came with big, fresh pieces of lobster. We also split a cup of the clam and potato chowder, which was perfect for a breezy, cloudy day--rich, hot, and packed with hearty chunks of clam and potato. The service was excellent--friendly and very efficient. Overall, a great spot for a classic coastal meal. Just note that they close for the season on September 21st.
