We heard the best lobster rolls in PEI were at Richard's, so we ventured about 30 minutes from our hotel to check it out--and it was absolutely worth the relaxing drive. When we arrived, the line was already 20 people deep. We joined in, and to our surprise, it moved pretty quickly. We ordered four lobster rolls and grabbed a seat outside in the blustery wind. In the back of my mind I was thinking, this better be worth it. Then our buzzer went off. When I picked up our lunch and saw the sheer amount of lobster they give you, my first thought was: hell yes, this is worth it. Even sitting outside in the wind and drizzle couldn't take away from what was about to be one of the best meals I've ever had. I've never seen a sandwich packed with this much lobster before. Most restaurants give you a few chunks mixed with filler, but not at Richard's. These rolls were overflowing with big, juicy pieces and just the right amount of mayo. The bun was buttered and toasted to perfection. Honestly, this was probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life. If you're anywhere near PEI, do yourself a favor and go to Richard's--you won't regret it.

We were told this was the best place for Lobster Rolls. They were right. Beachy order and seat yourself. Day was gorgeous. Food was amazing. Staff were so nice and on point. Amazing lunch and experience.

Popular seafood outdoor restaurant serving lobster rolls, fish and chips, fried scallops and fries. There seems to always be a line, but they move quickly to get orders and food to hungry patrons. I got the lobster roll and it was delicious. Great amount of lobster spilling over a roll and a side of chips also. Would definitely recommend. Plenty of outdoor seating, or even go to the nearby beach by the bridge to enjoy your meal! Although FYI, if you buy any beer, you have to stay on the patio attached to the store.

Never had a worth the price - delicious - Lobster Roll until today. It was so packed with tender lobster meat I hardly ate much of the perfectly toasted roll. The lobster had mayonnaise, celery, green and regular onions along with the roll. ( I understand the other way of having it is with just drawn butter - which I don't think they offer but don't quote me!) The place itself has a touristy vibe to it but don't let that turn you away - in fact it adds to the experience. And talk about touristy, check out their attached gift shop. Fun and delicious place to check out.

Usually when a restaurant upsets me I write a negative review. However, when a place like Richard's so much outshines other "recommended" lobster roll, I had to write a positive review. For the love of god, DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER PLACE IN CHARLOTTETOWN TO GET A LOBSTER ROLL. YOU ARE GETTING RIPPED OFF!!!! For the same price you're literally getting more than double the lobster meat than any other place on the island. And not just any part of the lobster. You're definitely getting lobster claws!!! Just the right amount of mayo on a butter bread makes Richard's THE MUST GO TO PLACE ON PEI to get a lobster roll. The only minor critique I have for them is they don't carry any lemon which I am a big fan of. And if you are too, then get ready to bring your own!

    Fish-n-chips

Finally a real fish-n-chips place. We have been traveling in Canada for two weeks and could only find frozen fish and frozen fries. This place has the real stuff. The tartar sauce is made in house and it is delicious.

At the top of PEI is this very popular lobster roll joint. Yup, great rolls, but spectacular setting. A few good local beers on tap and an oyster bar to boot. Dog friendly everywhere! Worth the wait.

Best lobster roll I've had in PEI. Lobster roll was seasoned perfectly and so generous in lobster chunks! Market price today was $29, so it was a tad cheaper than spots in Charlottetown yet it was much more generous. We also had the salad instead of fries, and it was very good and high quality too. The fried scallops were amazing with the dipping sauce. Can't wait to return!

If the line is long, you know it's good. The fried scallops ended up being my favorite and we ordered everything on the menu so I say that with confidence. Would return in a heartbeat ... although my heart would probably stop if I came as much as I'd want to!

Best seafood on the island, bar none. Don't let the unassuming chincy tourist vibe, insane children hurling themselves off piers in the distance (or the super long lines) fool you; this place is worth the wait in the hot sun. I would wait in line during the literal apocalypse for Richard's. I would fight the four horsemen head on, barehanded and bleeding from every orifice, just for a taste of the fish burger and its mind-blowing, tangy tartar sauce. Incidentally, this is my only complaint: why are they selling cheesy tee-shirts and hats when they have literal tartar gold that should be bottled and sold until every person on Earth has had the opportunity to experience fish nirvana? I have no idea. ANYWAY. Incredibly generous portions (there were about 3 filets in my fish-and-chips), and i MADE the room. The fries were also deliciously-seasoned and crispy. Just go.

We were cheerfully greeted at the door and promptly taken to a table for our meal. The kids menu did not disappoint, with high quality pasta presented elegantly in a curved bowl. Salads and sandwiches, including one lobster roll, also met expectations. The chowder was rated 10/10, on account of light broth combined with hearty pieces of seafood. The one area for improvement was the unfortunate failure to distinguish between brands of cola when ordering. Despite asking for Coke, we were brought Pepsi without the requisite warning. Would return!

The Arnold Palmer was basically a raspberry lemonade with barely a hint of tea. We had appetizers - she was able to sub scallops for the shrimp(due to our allergies). We had the seafood medley and 2 mini tourtierres. The seafood was good, the smoked salmon was dyed a purple color. The scallops were good, cooked a tad bit too long, but still tasty. The beef tarts were dry and the pastry tough. While our server was enjoyable and pleasant, the appetizers were not the best, and for the price, we won't be back. Head down to the Italian restaurant (Vicinato) - you won't be disappointed!

I explained to the server it was horrible and they apologized and offered another one, but I explained I was full and could not do it. She was kind and apologetic but said it's not your fault. The lobster was soo cooked there was very little meat in the claws and what was there was stuck to the side of the shell and had to be somewhat scraped from the shell which really was not enough meat to make it worth it. I complained Ed in the way out and one of the managers said if it was over cooked they all would have been. I have been eating and cooking lobster since I was in my teens.
