Blackberry sour

This was a beautiful place to have a meal looking out onto the water and sand dunes. I was going to start with a cup of chowder and have some haddock. The waitress was nice enough to offer me to have a cup of the chowder instead of salad that came with 1 piece of pan dried haddock. It was perfect size meal for 1 with the choice of 1 or 2 pieces of haddock. I prefer the pan-fried as it typically has less batter than deep fried. It was nice and flaky. The seafood chowder was nice. It was not thick like some other restaurants but had a nice mix of lobster, scallops and fish. The service was excellent. I also had a blackberry sour which was very tasty.

2nd time to the island and 1st time here for lunch. Everything we ordered was delicious and OMG they give you so much fries which were crispy and good. Great service and friendly staff. Perfect place to go grab before or after the beach

Fish tacos are incredible! Service is good. Upstairs is quite noisy. Outside deck is nice. Views from the restaurant are beautiful. Go to Harrys for i e cream afterwards!!!

The view

One of the most beautiful spots you'll eat takeaway! Fin Folk Food is located at a former Island haunt, colloquially referred to in the past as "Pogey Beach" (Google the Island-inspired fictional film) because of the stunning beach location Islanders could access without paying a fee. The setting will take your breath away! From delicious lobster rolls, fish tacos, hot dogs, and chilli - it's a great way to eat and see the beach! Service is always spot on. Once you find the spot (plan for a walk on the beach or even a swim), order from the downstairs counter. The staff will provide you with a buzzer before you depart to find a table (beautiful views from inside or outside seating).

Sampler platter

Fish tacos are outstanding. I had the sampler and lobster roll was generous. We were able to take our dog and the service was friendly and attentive.

Good was good, service was quick and the food was prompt, even though the restaurant was extremely busy. Will definitely go back.

We heard the best lobster rolls in PEI were at Richard's, so we ventured about 30 minutes from our…read morehotel to check it out--and it was absolutely worth the relaxing drive. When we arrived, the line was already 20 people deep. We joined in, and to our surprise, it moved pretty quickly. We ordered four lobster rolls and grabbed a seat outside in the blustery wind. In the back of my mind I was thinking, this better be worth it. Then our buzzer went off. When I picked up our lunch and saw the sheer amount of lobster they give you, my first thought was: hell yes, this is worth it. Even sitting outside in the wind and drizzle couldn't take away from what was about to be one of the best meals I've ever had. I've never seen a sandwich packed with this much lobster before. Most restaurants give you a few chunks mixed with filler, but not at Richard's. These rolls were overflowing with big, juicy pieces and just the right amount of mayo. The bun was buttered and toasted to perfection. Honestly, this was probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life. If you're anywhere near PEI, do yourself a favor and go to Richard's--you won't regret it.

I got the lobster roll and it was delicious. Great amount of lobster spilling over a roll and a side of chips also. Would definitely recommend. Plenty of outdoor seating, or even go to the nearby beach by the bridge to enjoy your meal! Although FYI, if you buy any beer, you have to stay on the patio attached to the store.

Another PEI spot where freshness takes centre stage, but with its own distinct personality. While…read moremost oysters along the island's northern coast trace their origins to Malpeque Bay, only those harvested here can officially be called Malpeque oysters. And at Malpeque Oyster Barn, you're eating them just steps from where they're pulled from the water--sometimes within hours. The setting is part of the charm: an old fishing shack that's been turned into a small, inviting dining room with views of the harbour. It's casual and unfussy, the kind of place where the smell of saltwater mixes with the sound of gulls outside. We kept things classic--Malpeque oysters, mussels, and a lobster roll. The oysters were some of the best we had on the island, briny and clean with that signature Malpeque sweetness. The mussels were plump and tender, and the lobster roll came with a side of creamy potato salad (yes, I know, I keep talking about the potatoes--but it's PEI, and they really are that good). It's not just about the quality here--it's about proximity. Eating oysters this close to where they're harvested gives a sense of place you can't replicate off-island. Friendly service, incredible seafood, and an authentic maritime atmosphere make Malpeque Oyster Barn a stop worth planning your trip around.
