Very much enjoyed our inaugural visit to Harbour. I forget our sushi chef's name but he was awesome. Alex? Edwin? Something like that. We were the first people in there for dinner around 4:00 on a weekday, so there was no wait of any kind. We LOVED the Juliet roll, and there were others that I greatly enjoyed that I just can't seem to recall at the moment. Decor gets a positive nod. It is themed without being cheesy. The only discouraging thing is something that they should also be proud of...in an effort to be transparent (or maybe because there's no room), they do a lot of prep at the bar. Meaning, you see them mix the imitation crab into a giant vat of mayonnaise, and you see them tearing open the plastic baggies full of spicy tuna. Part of me is happy that they aren't trying to hide anything, but the other part of me is disappointed that that is how their product arrives and is served. Verdict: Will return. read more

Just had the worst experience ever! We had a group of 6 of us. We were eating having a good time an hour into it we started to get rushed. It got to a point were my wife felt so uncomfortable she left. Mikey the chef was real cool but even he had to rush us. We spoke to the so called supervisor and nothing was done. Horrible service! Don't order before closing I went home to find out only half my roll had the ingredients it needed to have. The salmon that they put on top is thinner than bacon. The rice is bigger than the actual salmon. Told the management about this & they claim they can't do anything because I didn't call but I did they were closed. The quality of the fish is below average for a proper sushi restaurant. I know I'm not going to be sick later, but I didn't enjoy the sushi. In fact, I'd say the quality is about what you would get at a major supermarket chain. Again, you won't get sick, but it's not good. My sushi plate came with a few lemon wedges... maybe I should have squeezed them onto the poor quality sushi. The skill of the sushi chef was awful. The fish was cut improperly. Very chewy sushi! I had to spit out a couple pieces of fish because it was super chewy. And the sushi pieces were obnoxiously large. The Tamago was really bad too. The music was loud, random, and with quality matching the sushi. If you're going to blast loud music in your restaurant, at least invest in a decent sound system. Muffled lyrics with grainy instrumentals... Service was alright. My order was messed up at first, but it was immediately corrected. Drinks were refilled regularly. Way overpriced for what you get in terms of quality. If you do manage to finish the food, then your belly will be full for a reasonable price. read more

The one star is solely based on about 15 visits here. The food is very good, but the SERVICE is horrible. It's not uncommon for very long wait times to be seated or get a refill. Often times, the wait staff stands around chatting up regardless if the place is packed or not. Even simple orders (combos) take about 25-30 minutes when it's not busy. To add insult to injury, they will gouge you if you order out. Condiments (except soy sauce) that you normally get for free when you dine in, are $1 or $2 each if you order out. Also, if you order through POSTMATES, hold on tight because you're going to get it in the wallet. For example, if you order a combo through Postmates, they add on an extra $2 to each combo regardless if it's lunch order dinner. THEN, they tack on a service fee of about 22%! So if your order is about $30 you're almost paying $7 as a SERVICE fee for deciding to eat at home or work instead. Not all places charge a service fee and tack on extra charges when you order out. The FOOD is great, too bad their service is one of the worst and they know people who return just for the food. read more

I'm giving this place two stars because the food was good. That's it. To begin, as we were waiting to be seated there was a lady that was very disappointed because she had been waiting and hour and still somehow the order was wrong.. Once we were sat, we noticed a super musty smell in the booth. They failed to clean up someones mess and the ground was still wet and sticky. It made my stomach hurt from the smell! Then, our waitress took a little while to come back and put our food order in (which is no biggie really). But once we did order the food, no one checked on us. And the food took SOOOO long. It was ridiculous. Then when we were done we waited forever for someone to take our card. Once they finally took it, they had the card for at least 10 minutes.. we ask where it is and the man said "we are working on it". Nothing else. Another 5 minutes later he comes back (and I'm assuming he was going to give a discount) and says he accidentally charged someone else's order on our card as well.. We were shocked about the service we received. Horrible. Completely ruined my boyfriends birthday dinner. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

So as absurd as it is that I have never had all you can eat before, today was my first. No longer an AYCE Virgin, let me just say, this was the best sushi experience of my life. Probably the best dining experience of my life. I was seated immediately and the sushi chef wasted no time before taking care of my first roll. He was a super nice man, didn't catch his name before he went on break though. Mikey took over his station right away. Mikey is GENIUS, ok? After the first couple rolls I ordered... the rendezvous and the sunset... he asked me what I liked and made me this spicy, citrus yellowtail sushi plate and it was amazing. Decision made, Mikey gets to make whatever he feels like making until I'm so full I'm going to explode. I should have taken more pictures, because literally everything was perfection. I don't know what's in their special sauces, but it's addicting. If I ever end up on death row, please bring me whatever Mikey makes for my last meal. read more

This is probably everyone's somewhat favorite, but to be honest, they make 90% of their rolls with the tuna mix or spicy tuna mix. Rarely fresh veggie or meat in middle just fish blender. All their rolls are also basically the same just the ingredients are rearranged lol Their rolls are ridiculously big, you can't take a classy bite, it's messy it's over compensating, it's not the Japanese way. The restaurant itself is a large room and it's ALWAYS cold. The hot sake doesn't stay warm, long. Bring a jacket and or don't sit near windows. Absolutely cold. read more

The food is delicious but the service is subpar when it comes to customer service. Their phone never seems to be answered. There's always a busy signal even when their location is not busy. I've stood outside the door called the number and nothing happened even though I could see into the location and see that there was no customers inside. It's really disheartening to see such a lackluster customer service when their food is prepared so well it is so good. It just makes the whole experience a negative one. read more

We had the AYCE, in order to do so you must sit at the bar. This place is great because the rolls are half the size of most places. If you like one just order it again. Chef Danny was super patient and explained some of the rolls that were questionable to me. The appetizers were brought quickly while the Chef prepared our order. Sushi is so good that I'm getting hungrier the more I eat. Marcos is the man! He was so fast and polite. He made rolls with the perfect fish to rice ratio. Update - Update..! Several recent visits and everything is back to great form... the earlier two-star review was just an 'off' piece of fish, and a bad night for a team member... hey, they happen. The most recent visit I had the medium sized sashimi assortment, and folks, Victor is becoming quite the plate designer. It was so visually beautiful..! Little trees and 'lettuce plants'. We sat there for a few minutes just looking at it. It was like a little sashimi garden, with several rows of fish of like-type, then little groupings of fish placed around the perimeter areas of the garden. It was really an eye-candy experience... but certainly better than any candy I've ever tried. Sorry about the off-star review earlier. This place was very busy but the wait for two was not long. The free edamame was appreciated but cold. The food was good, the pieces in the rainbow roll were huge. While the waitresses were rushing around they never rushed us. The check took forever to come, it's like once they delivered the food the forgot about us. We visited Harbour Japanese Restaurant for our anniversary after reading so many positive reviews on Yelp. Overall, we were left with mixed reviews of our experience. I must start by saying that I worked in restaurants for many years, so my expectations are realistic but high. First, the food was outstanding. We got two speciality rolls, a hand roll, and two pieces of sushi. The speciality rolls were incredible. Highly recommend "The Leo." It is spicy and I wanted a spoon to eat the "Leo Sauce." Wow. Hand roll was really good too. The sushi though, was dry around the edges and looked like they may cut their fish ahead of time. We would have asked for a new order, but alas, nobody ever checked in. This leaves me to my next point: while the food was on-point, the service left a lot to be desired. We still don't know who our server was because the person who got our drinks was one person, another delivered them, another took our order, and yet someone else delivered it, etc. This meant that there was little accountability. Contrary to many sushi restaurants, nobody gave us a "tour" of our plate. They failed to tell us what the sauces were for or explained the rolls. They did not refill our drinks or remove the dirty plates (my personal pet peeve.) When I stacked all of our plates up, someone finally came back and asked if I would like them removed. Seemed pretty obvious to me. Someone dropped the check, asked "was everything okay?" to which I responded "Yeah, it was okay." because the service was just that. If you are looking for great sushi, this is your spot, but leave your expectations of service at the door. read more

Best sushi place in the antelope valley! It's a great local restaurant, always busy and the staff is always friendly. Everything is fresh and flavorful, great variety of food and drinks and the prices are good especially during happy hour, everything is delicious here, you won't be disappointed. If you like to eat, we get the all you can eat sushi at the bar and it's worth the price. They also have other stuff too for those not so adventurous eaters like teriyaki bowls and soups tempura shrimp and vegs. I like that it's a little hole in the wall restaurant, It's the only place we eat at for sushi!! read more

I haven't been here in awhile but this place popped my sushi cherry and I was craving some sushi while I was visiting palmdale. Figured I would come back to Harbour since I used to love it here. Complete letdown, either harbours standards have gone down or I now know what's an actually decent sushi restaurant. Sat down at the sushi bar, unfortunately I got the smuggest sushi chef on the line who seemed more busy looking at his co-workers food and criticizing their sushi rolls than working on his own. Edamame's came out cold with no salt, every specialty roll made was drowning in eel sauce and spicy mayo, no wasabi underneath the fish on the nigiri and then no ginger or wasabi offered (you have to ask for it). Which was needed for the nigiri. The yellowtail was decent, albacore decent, salmon didn't taste fresh had an odor to it, eel was decent and the tuna was good. Limited options. I'd come here if all I wanted to order was the specialty rolls like their crunch roll and the heart attack. As for the sushi experience here it is non-existent. read more

This restaurant is expensive for the quality of food you get. We ordered both the sesame chicken and fried calamari, and they were both breaded in tempura-like breading. Not the biggest fan. The calamari was actually really good, but the sesame chicken was highly disappointing. The chicken (which was breaded in the same ingredients as tempura) has sesame oil drizzled over the top and few sesame seeds- that's it. The flavor was unappetizing. The sushi rolls were good with the exception of the Palmdale roll. The amount cream cheese was overwhelming in that roll. read more
