First time in a seaplane and highly recommend! Breathtaking views! Very nice captain who had my husband be co pilot :) Smooth take off and landing. We bought our tickets the day before but I do believe they sell out. It was a 35 minute flight and I think it was worth it! Check the forecast if you are there a few days in case of fog. Highly highly recommend this experience

What a wonderful experience we had with Harbour Air! They were on time, the little airport harbors are delightful, and the staff are all wonderful. We flew from Vancouver to Victoria for a day trip. On the way to Victoria, the pilot chose me to sit up front with him! I was allowed to wear the headset and listen to the local air traffic controller. Very cool experience. They fly at 1000 ft, so it was a very smooth flight. The views from the plane were gorgeous. Take off and landing on the water was smooth and fun. The plane ride back from Victoria was equally lovely while sitting in the passenger area of the plane. I highly recommend Harbour Air if you only have a day trip from Vancouver to Victoria. The flight takes 35 minutes, versus a 1.5 hour ferry ride. It's well worth the cost.

The seaplane flight from Victoria to Vancouver was one of the highlights of my B.C. trip! Harbour Air was great - very informative, timely, and accommodating. My friend and I didn't have a lot of information about what was going on, because we'd booked our tickets through a tour company, and it was our first time on a seaplane. The staff members we interacted with were helpful and friendly. One thing to note is that there is a small baggage fee for even small, carry-on size bags (backpacks should be fine if they don't weigh too much). The flight itself was EPIC. We happened to be the first people on the plane, and the pilot told us that since the flight was full, one of us would have to sit in the cockpit. My friend wanted to do it, and afterward she told me it was the coolest experience of her life. She even got to listen to air traffic control. I was content to sit in a normal seat because I was slightly more nervous for our safety on such a small plane, but I loved imagining I was on a pre-9/11 flight (basically no security or hassle). The water landing and takeoff were smooth, and everything felt very safe. The views were unreal!! I recommend this to everyone traveling between Victoria and Vancouver. It only takes 30-45 minutes and is a fun, novel experience.

Harbour Air is such a great, convenient option for getting from Vancouver to Victoria! You don't need to show up too early and they have cheaper fares if you don't need to take a lot of luggage with you. Great for a weekend getaway! #ContestEntry

We were in Vancouver for a weekend and decided that we HAD to check out seaplanes! This was one of the best decisions we could've made - we had a fantastic experience. We booked our tickets well in advance, and got the package that included tickets to the Capilano Bridge - it was expensive, but I guess you are paying for the experience. It was a bit hard to find their office, but once we got there, we checked in and were on our way around 30 minutes later. They took the group down to the water where they loaded all of us on. There were around 11 seats, which felt a little cramped once we were inside. The tour, however, was fantastic. We saw all of the city of Vancouver, and the colors looked brilliant from high up. It's also a cool experience when taking off and landing in the water! Definitely recommend this to folks looking for a tourist activity in the city, or even trying to get around - they do round trips in addition to tours!

What a wonderful experience! All the staff are hospitable and attentive. Even the pilots are kind and helpful. The staff are GREAT at assisting those who are handicapped and/or elderly get on and off the planes. Both flights were in time. Check in process was easy easy. They have a little gift shop: souvenirs, luggage, incidentals, some clothing, etc. They offer complimentary coffee and tea for their customers. They also sell coffee drinks, wine, beer, and some mixed drinks, as well as some snacks. Flight was a little turbulent due to weather. There was an unpleasant strong smell of petroleum during the flight. However, the flights were beautiful! Highly recommend this company AND the adventure of flying on a seaplane!!!

My workmate who's even more of a nervous nelly than I!! We loved it.

It was yesterday when I took my first Harbour Air flight from Coal Harbour to Victoria's Inner Harbour - and I feel like shouting from rooftops how incredible the experience was. From booking to checking in, complimentary coffee/tea/water. Available snacks. On time and as promised....to the unbelievably beautiful 35 minutes flying low across The Salish Sea. As a born and raised Vancouerite I thought I couldn't love our corner of the world more...and yet here we are. The crews were awesome - in particular the return crew where it was "David's birthday" -- which I think was code for "first flight at the controls". The Senior Officer on board was a steady hand and we all marvelled at the smoothest of landings. (It might have been David's actual birthday....please do let me know!). Anyway, will definitely do this far more often! Highly recommend.

harbor air stole our money they have a faulty reservation system and aren't going to support customers that get ripped off

Neat experience, great customer service, and efficient operations. My wife and I did a roundtrip from Vancouver to Victoria Island and this was a great way to see a lot from the air as well as maximize our vacation time by going to / from in about 30 minutes each way. They also sold us a package to see the Butchart Gardens and bus tour. If you're looking for a unique experience and trying to maximize your time at a reasonable cost, I would recommend this group.

Since I don't have the kind of rugged job where I get to fly around rescuing seals or people or whatever, the dream came true in the form of a helicopter tour I arranged for my husband's birthday from SKY Helicopters. Their service lets you choose from an array of tours out of either Vancouver Harbour or Pitt Meadows Airport, and since it's just you and your party (up to three passengers) and the pilot, you can customize a bit. For our tour, I chose the North Shore/Howe Sound tour, which normally takes you in behind the mountains and through the Lions. The day I booked ended up being cloudy over the peaks, so our pilot Bryce took us up along the North Shore and around Cypress, up Howe Sound, getting amazingly close to the steep, forested mountainsides. I was also amazed to see how all those big mansions of West Van looked like miniature dollhouses and the cars on the highway all looked like toys. Coming back, we were able to spend a bit more time flying over Stanley Park and circling over downtown - which was great because part of the point of the trip was to get some shots of the city from the air with my husband's new GoPro. (If you're really serious about photography, they can even take the doors off, though I wasn't quite ready for that thrill on my first ride!) It was a little sad to touch down again after spending half an hour floating above the world, but the experience was great from start to finish, from the prompt response from Bryce on my initial inquiry through the website to all the emails, phone calls and texts keeping in touch about the itinerary and weather changes etc. (you never know out here!) to just taking us on a fantastic flight. I think we can all agree that Vancouver is a good-looking city surrounded by spectacular scenery. And it looks even more amazing from the air! I have experienced my city from a new angle, plus had a great subject for my 800th YELP REVIEW!!! The SKY is the ultimate high!

We looked at several options (car rental, train, commercial flight, other charters), and San Juan Airlines stood out as the best option for us. They were more reasonably priced than other charter companies, much more convenient than the other options, and had information about their Covid-19 precautions clearly detailed on their website. We had a stellar experience with them - scheduling was smooth and our pilot was great, friendly and enthusiastic in answering our questions about the flight and general aviation topics. The aircraft was in great shape as well, comfortable and clean and clearly well maintained. The icing on the cake is of course the amazing views during our flight. We will definitely use their charter service again if the need arises.

Our trip from Bellingham to Orcas was pleasant and seamless. Friendly staff, easy, scenic, everything the other reviews say. However, our flight from Orcas to Bellingham was almost an hour late with no advance communication or explanation given. The weather was completely clear. We booked as a private charter at a specific agreed upon time and I don't feel that commitment was taken seriously enough by the company. We almost missed our connection in Bellingham and this caused a lot of stress. That said, I would still consider using them in the future because it worked and there aren't great alternatives.

She had recently gone up to Campbell river with her bf, and they had taken the Comox Glacier Tour, she was basically so excited that she was babbling with joy and enthusiasm. How can you ignore something like that? We set up a tour for the next day. 49 North was super accommodating, we had a drive in front of us, to get there, so we scheduled for 3 pm. We took a relaxing, winding trip up from Victoria to Campbell River; it's a lovely drive. We arrived about an hour early, so we just stopped in. Jean-Marc took us up. His wife pulled together a lunch for us, and we had a fabulous experience, flying over mountains, glaciers, lakes, and having one of the best views for lunch. Seriously a stunning experience. Jean-Marc has been flying for 20 years, and this is his business, he gave us thrills, and we felt safe the entire flight. There is a lot of turbulence when you cross over the tops of mountains, but that only gave the whole experience more of that roller coaster feel. I highly recommend taking a helicopter trip with 49 North, if you get to Vancouver Island. If you listen carefully, you can probably hear me babbling with enthusiasm.

Yes, there are still things I could complain about but in general here are the reasons for the five stars: The flights seem to be really on time when the weather is good. I totally understand that wind, fog, rain, etc, can really screw things up but let's forget about that for now. The flight over to island, wherever you are going, is really quite beautiful. If you ask you may get the co-pilot seat and of course they seem to take special preference to those who may have never been on a seaplane before. As to the seaplanes themselves -- yes, they are small, luggage could be a problem (but if it is -- take the ferry), and to my surprise being in a seaplane really felt no different then landing or taking off on land and when the water is as smooth as glass I think this might actually be a smoother experience on both landing and takeoff. Further -- the big point of smoothness comes from this being more like private air than commercial flight. I have no idea what the domestic rules are in Canada but for a person from the US to get on a flight with a generic boarding card, off the island because their name was on a list the pilot was holding, with basically zero TSA screening hassle of any kind is pure joy. This thing might have a propeller and wings but the service feels as simple as a bus. So, no, not much flash to the experience but a whole lot of convenience -- and if you need to make a dash to and from the island without dragging a week's supply of personal items with you this is simply awesome.
