I have been frequently visiting this harbor freight for two reasons, The cashier I see most often knows her store and products ( if she doesn't she seeks help from her coworkers and often stays to listen and learn the ins and outs of the automotive hydraulic set I was buying for example.) The cleanness and organization of the store.
The cashiers name Is Mandy. She is always smiling and ready to assist anyone with any questions. Even when her cashier line is backed up. She even knows the layout of the store quite well. I have noticed on several visits to pick up parts and blades that she gives such great detail in the location of the product that the customers seem so happy she knew EXACTLY where it was. Another cashier that also knows the store very well is Lloyd? I am not sure of his name, but I remember someone referring to him as Lloyd?.(Young man with a very neat and trimmed beard looks to me like ex military ) This smart fellow helped me multiple times explaining how a certain product was used. I recently had to return one of my saws, it wasn't quite strong enough for the job. I misplaced my receipt. Mandy told me that the store policy required a receipt. However she would take the time to look for the transaction because it was bought the previous day, and she told me about the replacement plan, that I opted out of. I told her that I used my credit card ( I don't carry cash). She was delighted to learn this information and upon swiping my card she found the transaction! She started the return and the computer prompted her for a mangers approval. After waiting several minutes a lined formed and she asked if she could ring the other customers while we waited for the store manager. I had no issues with this because she had found my transaction! Upon waiting for the manager a new cashier came to the other register and immediately started complaining about how awful his job was. Mandy simply said " honey its a job and pays our bills, if you don't want to be here then fine. But keep your negativity to yourself while we have customers." What a professional answer she gave him! ( he was a larger, tall, unorthodox fellow) Finally a girl came over and asked Mandy if everything was okay, She informed the young lady that she needed a manger approval for my return. the young lady then asked me what was wrong with my saw. I told her I need a bigger tile saw for my job. She was so willing to help me out. ( Her name was Ashley, and I guess the store manager?) I returned my saw, and they even place the money back on my card! It was on my card within 15 minutes before I even left the store!
I would like to just say, when you need help with anything I would start with Mandy or Lloyd. They have great attitude and know the stores products. I have never had any issues with any of the products that I have bought from this company. But I do drive the extra 30 minutes out of my way just to shop at this location. The Apopka store is dirty and has (excuse my honesty) rude and disrespectful cashiers. The seem so upset when I don't buy the warranty's, so pushy they are with them. Makes me wonder if the employees get a % of that money, or are rewarded in some way for selling them. I recently went to the Kissimmee store and was outraged by an employees attitude when I asked her for help finding a particular saw blade. ( larger woman with Hispanic accent her name tag only said head cashier and a name I cant pronounce)
All in all, the products have worked wonders, the employees at the winter garden store seem to be the company's star employees, they enjoy their jobs and keep the store in great shape. I love how everything is brought to the edge of the shelf, It makes it so much easier to shop quickly and see all that the store has to offer, I think I may even take Mandy's advice and become a member. She gave me a pamphlet about the Inside Track Club. read more
