I have to admit I'm not a big tool guy, (easy now), But Harbor freight does have a good selection of low-cost tools and equipment. I have a 6 foot step ladder that usually served the purpose around my home. But on this day we needed to get up on the roof to fix a small leak around the bathroom fan. My son-in-law, who is like a MacGyver, only had a 6 foot ladder too. So off to Harbor freight we went to get a 17 foot extension ladder. Found it right away, we had a 20% off coupon and walked out of the store paying just a little over 100 bucks for the ladder. The laziest employees, probably on this earth. They had a tool chest in stock on line. Drive there, 50 miles, when I get there they said it's too far in the back, come back tomorrow. Refused to get it. The store was open another two hours. So unbelievably unprofessional that I canceled my membership there and will not spend another dollar, in any store. read more

Ordered two expensive tool chest. Told us it would take 7-10 days to come in. Took over a month. Called to let me know it was in and ready for pick up. Drive down with a trailer and they told me it wasn't there and still being delivered to the store this week. No customer service or integrity at this store. It is, what it is... Harbor Freight does not pretend to be anything else. This is the "Dollar Store" version of Home Depot or Lowe's. So you can expect GREAT deals on mostly Chinese-made tools and hardware, that cost FAR less than most anywhere else. Just do NOT expect long-term, lasting quality. You get what you pay for, right? Still... I find this a place to buy excellent "beater" tools to use and abuse for a few years before I have to replace them. I have bought numerous chainsaws, angle grinders, sanders, air compressors, and a myriad of assorted hand tools here. NOTE: The cash register does not often reflect the "online" or "sales flyer" prices!! MAKE SURE to bring some sort of printed back-up with you, to ensure you get the DISCOUNTS they advertise! But if you want really high-quality stuff that will last forever? LoL... Then you should avoid HF entirely..... (And yes, my review is an exact carbon-copy of the other store. Why? I recently tried to do a brake job needing to buy some tools which i bought from harbor freight and another place. unfortunately, i had the wrong pads so i had to take the tools back which harbor freight gladly took back----unlike the other place that i thought was ADVANCED(hint hint) but wasn't. Most people go there for the prices but the management and the staff are also worth mentioning. They are helpful and friendly

This place is a good supplier of tools for light duty use. No place to buy professional quality but good for that once in a while job. However, I hate waiting in line and I could do without the policy of getting every customers vital info before checking them out. This is annoying when there are several people in line. The Clearwater/Palm Harbor location doesn't have its own yelp listing so Largo gets the comments... My cashier Adam was very good at his job. Yet, his hands were tied by corporate policy and a store manager that appeared he couldn't care less. Simply tried to return identical items, except one was metric and the other SAE - never used and in original packaging that was never opened. I was made to feel like I was trying to scam the company. Done. Never going back and sharing this experience with my entire family that have been regular customers. Cheap products, made in China, bad attitudes. At least Walmart has customer centered policies. This is likely yet another bricks and mortar brand soon to bite the dust. read more

Good luck finding an associate in the store to help you out or answer any of your questions. The time to check out was a disaster. It was extremely long as there were too many customers not enough checkout registers open. Buyers beware, it will take you some amount of time to get in and out of the store. read more
