Jordan was extremely helpful over the phone - I am an hour away- as were the other people I spoke with. The same is true of when I picked up the saw yesterday (two weeks after buying over the phone). Brandon, Jordan, Ashley, and Sharon could not have been nicer nor more professional. I hate that the store is not closer to me, because they would be my go-to for anything related to lawn equipment!

I had a great experience purchasing my John Deere from Hickory Home & Garden. I was originally looking to buy at one of the big box hardware stores, but I would rather support a local business and also they have the machines in stock where I could physically go and see them. I was helped pretty much as soon as I came in. They had the model I was looking for in the back as it had just come in and they let me go back there and take a look. After browsing a bit and comparing models I went ahead with the purchase. They scheduled a delivery for like the next day and the delivery went great. The machine show up clean, prepped and ready to go! Nothing but a good experience so far with Hickory Home & Garden Center and I hope it continues when I eventually come in for service.

Lowe's subjects their customers to this treatment! If I could give the installation company a negative five stars I would. The worst experience ever for the installation of my dishwasher from Lowe's. The technician, Dwight Jr, who never called me 30-60 minutes before arrivals as their emails states they would, arrives at my house and complains about being overworked and he didn't have time to call me and alert me. I tried to be nice and let him to my newly renovated house. I told him the space was tight for the dishwasher and that he needed to be careful and not damage the floors and walls. He said he'd take care of it and I also told him to use the sliding glass doors to go in and out of. I had a work call to take in my home office and when I walked back out, he had already yanked out the old dishwasher, drug it through my living room across my hardwood floor. Water was everywhere! My newly remodeled kitchen had damage on my cabinets where he scraped them taking out the old dishwasher into my LIVING ROOM!! He also damaged my brand new refrigerator. When I called his attention as to how this happened he accused me of accusing him and said the damages were already there! He calls his manager; some female n speaker phone, who threatened me that they would leave the dishwasher uninstalled because I was hostile!! I tried to speak with her and she said her employee said he didn't do it so that's all they could go on! The most deplorable company and employees! This is how they treat others in their own home! He left my home with water all over my kitchen floor; the unit was not properly installed; parts are missing screws, water underneath the dishwasher and he even left the dishwasher manual UNDER MY DISHWASHER! I have pictures to prove all this. I tried calling the Lowe's store while the installation was happening and was hung up on, placed on hold the 2nd time for 20 minutes only to be told the manager was at lunch. Two hours later I try calling - no answer. I drive to the local store and am told the manager was at lunch! Really!!? I said I was not leaving until I spoke with a manager and suddenly the manager appeared! Lying to the customer! Now have a claim filed with Lowe's corporate. What a disaster. Boycott this company and Lowe's. My kitchen is a disaster, waited almost a month for the install and now dealing with this disaster and can't use my dishwasher!! Consumers are paying for these rotten companies and we get deplorable treatment!

My husband has used chain saws for over 40 years and knows how they operate. We brought it back to Northern Tool, the manager (Shannan) said that their mechanic was on vacation, so she took the chain saw to a back room and tried to start it and was unable to. She came back and said that my husband must have flooded it. My husband said that we would just exchange it for another saw. She said that we could not do that. My husband said that we would just return it for a refund. She said that there was a $70.00 restocking fee! We never even used the saw! It was brand new! She was adamant about the fee and charged it. My husband asked for the name of customer service so he could lodge a complaint. When he called customer service, he was told to call Derek Kurtz, who is the district manager. He called Mr. Kurtz, and was told that they have had a lot of problems with the Stihl MS 331 chain saw, but usually after the customer brings it back to their mechanic three or four times, it will work! This is utterly ridiculous! We then went to Lowes Home Improvement and bought a Husqvarna chain saw and it started right up and works just fine.

We saw one chair we liked. It would fit our needs, was the acceptable color, material and size...a la my wife's seeking standards. Did we buy it? Of course not. Hickory is loaded with furniture outlets, so off we went a exploring. A couple of more locations and them the big kaboom: the Hickory Furniture Mart. Another review coming on this enormous, four level block-filling edifice containing just about any manufacturer and style of furniture one could imagine. We did not find anything that was better than the one at The Hickory Tree, so after some coffee and lunch at the Olde Hickory Station (see that review), we returned to the Hickory Tree. Since this was a consignment store, all items had a sales price tag with the prices listed over time. What I mean is that a price of $175 was scheduled to cost $150 on the first of the next month, then it would cost $135 the next month, and so on. This being the middle of the month, and not wanting to risk the desire chair being sold while we waited, we bought it...right then. They accepted credit cards. With the help of a young man we loaded this chair into our SUV and were off for home. An excellent, but exhausting furniture shopping experience that I survived. Before you blow your mind out looking for furniture all over, start here at the Hickory Tree. Prices reasonable and mark-downs abound. And nice people.
