I thought long and hard on what I wanted to write because I wanted to cover everything about the…read moresituation we were put in - very sad and disappointing. Friday October 18th my family will not forget. We were in anticipation of welcoming our new family member. A little over a week ago I called in reference to a female chihuahua feist mix pup 4 months old. She was white with brown spots. She was born on June 15th, 2019. I was told no one had shown interest in her if I wanted to add my name to her list I could. I discussed it with my parents who had lost their dog of 18 years a couple months back. It was time to move on and this is the dog they were looking for. She was born on my sisters birthday, she was the a color mix of the 2 previous dogs we had, and she was the breed and age frame they wanted. I went to see her, video chatted my parents who were on vacation at the time and they were in love. They came home and immediately went to see her and confirmed they wanted her. They completed some paperwork and was told she would be spayed on Tuesday they could pick her up Thursday. They made arrangements to pick her up on Friday because they had doctor appointments on Thursday. Friday came and when my mom arrive to pick her up was informed they had adopted her out to someone else on Thursday. After her name was on her paperwork and they had completed paperwork for her, made arrangements with the shelter to pick her up, and they shelter workers messed up and gave her to someone else. We were told their name was on a list from 2 weeks ago and they had contacted them about it but they refused to bring her back. My mom was devestated. I got home from work at 5 and she was still just as upset and in tears as she was at noon when she got the aweful news. It is a aweful thing that should of been prevented. Never in the week we were told she was ours were we informed of the mix up that was 2 weeks old. Never during processing her paperwork with the other family was it discovered they promised a dog to two families. My family called and visited multiple times. The employees knew who we were and they knew we were always there for the one dog and the one dog only. This should of been prevented and never even happened. How someone could be so careless and oblivious I do not know. I still cannot wrap my head around the situation. I cannon do anything to make the situation better for my mom. Sheila called me to do some customer service cleanup. She was very nice and apologetic of the situation. I appreciate the call she made to me. But there is nothing that will make this situation better for my family and especially my mom, except to get the dog who in her mind was hers back. She picked out a name for her, bought all kind of items for her. I sincerely believe I will never be back to this facility unless it is to pick up the pup that was promised to my family. I highly suggest if you use this facility to document every phone call, visit, inquiry you make with anyone there. Take names, dates, times, anything and everything you can to document you encounter to ensure you get the fur baby you set your heart on and don't have to face the heartbreak my family has. USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DEALING WITH THIS FACILITY!

I put this in quotes because MAYBE the birds were had fed as chicks, but they were DEATHLY afraid of people. I got my baby home and he was so terrified of a hand that he bite me multiple times. (My parents have raised multiple Macaws so I understand bird behavior) I can tell you that these birds, all of which, the store owners said were 6 months and older, have not been handled since they got them. It broke my heart to see these babies so terrified, I wanted to take them all and give them a better life. Also, I was told the only thing they "would" eat was sunflower seeds... which is so not healthy for these growing birds. That's just the birds. I saw two bigger constrictors in the SAME CAGE , that was NOT even big for one snake that size. Most animals in that shop were not for sale, such as the snakes, two different breaded dragons, and many more. What really just hurt my heart and soul was the money, and Ring-tailed Lemur they had... who were locked up in extremely dirty cages, no bigger then a very small kitchen table. The only reason I gave them one star was because they were very nice to me and gave me extra sunflower seeds for free. But all together, I would say PetSmart employees have more knowledge about their animals then this "establishment." My heart is truly broken for the animals that are in that shop.

The staff were very friendly and understanding even though we came to their self-wash station near their closing time. I didn't like their washing station quite as much as other places, simply because one station was closed and our dog kept jumping out of the bath, and having the door shut made it kind of hot and stuffy inside, but I'm glad it was available nonetheless. I was also pleased to meet a little blue conure. My son and I were admiring it but I warned him not to touch because it may bite. A staff member came by and told me the bird was actually really friendly and enjoyed being pet. He said it normally roams around on the staff shoulders throughout the day. I thought this happy bird was a great sign of employees that actually care about the animals under their care! Way to go Pet Supplies Plus!

It's a local family owned place that is really into the hobby, not just profit margins. I had a Rafael Catfish that died after 31 years. Regular big retailers would have laughed, but Cindy actually cared ordered two new ones just for me, They're in my tank now, doing fine. In addition to maybe a hundred tanks of fish, they have every medicine, filter, and gizmo you could imagine, on shelves on the walls from floor to ceiling. They're also very nice people.
