I visited the store today to look at electric lawnmowers or buy a replacement battery for one I already own, Best service ever from Nadya In the lawn department. She told me how to replace my current mower battery and then explained, in detail, the other options I had. Not only the options but how the batteries were interchangeable with other tools by the same company and how useful that could be. She went on to tell me about safe battery care and how batteries were affected by hot and cold temperatures. I sure learned from this visit and will ask for her when I return to buy the mower my husband and I have decided to purchase. That woman is an exemplary employee! C.Smith read more

I just cut up my LOWES card and will never ever buy anything from them again. I will shop at Home Depot from now on. Lowes has the worst customer service of any store I have ever shopped at. It would help if they hired people with an IQ higher than a rock. No one has the ability to answer any question no matter how simple of a question it is. read more

Do not shop here! I purchased multiple gallons of paint on Sunday, put them in back of my vehicle and proceeded to go home. On the way one can tipped forward and the lid popped out and the entire gallon ran all over the car. I returned to Lowe's and they had just closed the Manager Angel came out and stated' the other 4 cans have the lid in place so obviously my employee tightened it how do I know you did not manipulate the lid. There is nothing I am going to do for you. ' Not even a paper towel was given to me. And I am a handicapped senior it's pretty ingenious to manipulate a lid past third row of seats while driving. I called corporate office and was told the stores individually handle complaints. I spend 2 hours struggling to clean the vehicle and it's still not clean. I also lost 53$ gallon of paint and was insulted by a manager that obviously requires customer service training. read more

Lowe's Home Improvement - Hardware Stores Near Me - Hickory, North Carolina

Lowe's should also be ashamed of using a company called Reliable Service to install their dishwashers. Read the reviews for them - the complaints all have similar issues. Lowe's subjects their customers to this treatment! If I could give the installation company a negative five stars I would. The worst experience ever for the installation of my dishwasher from Lowe's. The technician, Dwight Jr, who never called me 30-60 minutes before arrivals as their emails states they would, arrives at my house and complains about being overworked and he didn't have time to call me and alert me. I tried to be nice and let him to my newly renovated house. I told him the space was tight for the dishwasher and that he needed to be careful and not damage the floors and walls. He said he'd take care of it and I also told him to use the sliding glass doors to go in and out of. I had a work call to take in my home office and when I walked back out, he had already yanked out the old dishwasher, drug it through my living room across my hardwood floor. Water was everywhere! My newly remodeled kitchen had damage on my cabinets where he scraped them taking out the old dishwasher into my LIVING ROOM!! He also damaged my brand new refrigerator. When I called his attention as to how this happened he accused me of accusing him and said the damages were already there! He calls his manager; some female n speaker phone, who threatened me that they would leave the dishwasher uninstalled because I was hostile!! I tried to speak with her and she said her employee said he didn't do it so that's all they could go on! The most deplorable company and employees! This is how they treat others in their own home! He left my home with water all over my kitchen floor; the unit was not properly installed; parts are missing screws, water underneath the dishwasher and he even left the dishwasher manual UNDER MY DISHWASHER! I have pictures to prove all this. I tried calling the Lowe's store while the installation was happening and was hung up on, placed on hold the 2nd time for 20 minutes only to be told the manager was at lunch. Two hours later I try calling - no answer. I drive to the local store and am told the manager was at lunch! Really!!? I said I was not leaving until I spoke with a manager and suddenly the manager appeared! Lying to the customer! Now have a claim filed with Lowe's corporate. What a disaster. Boycott this company and Lowe's. My kitchen is a disaster, waited almost a month for the install and now dealing with this disaster and can't use my dishwasher!! Consumers are paying for these rotten companies and we get deplorable treatment! read more

We have been here multiple times as it's the closest Lowe's to our house and the customer service is nonexistent. No one is around to ask if you have a question but today was the absolute worst experience. It shouldn't take 35 min to mix up paint. Heather (the associate working the paint area) was wandering around the paint aisles and then carried on a conversation with a customer while a line of people waiting for their paint began to form. I get that the store can get busy but this was unacceptable. read more

We went to this Lowe's after the Lowe's in Lenoir never called us back about flagstones we were wanting to purchase. This Lowe's store had what we needed, so we ordered, set up a delivery date and someone called us when he was close to our house. The staff associates were very helpful. We came back to this Lowe's when we needed to order more flagstones. Even though we live in Hudson and the Lenoir Lowe's is closer we will continue to go to the one in Hickory. read more

We purchased a home in Hickory NC. Lowes had completely demo'd the kitchen and replace cabinets, flooring, countertops, backsplash and appliances for the previous owners. The install is a mess. The subfloor was never screwed or stapled down so it was always moving. The cabinet over the microwave does not allow for the microwave to vent therfore we can't use the microwave because it could be a fire Hazzard. The microwave was also put on the same circuit as the pump for out irrigation system. Several of the cabinets rub on others when opened. We had to call a contractor to properly install the ice maker and reverse the handles on the fridge/freezer as they were on backwards. We've tried to get the store to make these changes but we have been blown off by assistant mgr Kyle, Eric won't return our calls, Tom is never in. We understand that Lowe's uses all subcontractors but Lowe's accepted all of the payment so shouldn't they have a responsibility? We didn't want to post negative comments and we told the employees that in person but they left us no choice. We will keep posting and reach out to channel 9 to see if we can get some help. We were very good customers of Lowe's over the years and now we can't even bring ourselves to walk in the door. Shame on you Lowe's Home Improvement. read more

Warning !!! Do NOT order online and pay with PayPal Lowe's charged my bank account twice and denied it It caused my account to over draw funny thing is they had to charge my account 7 times to get the right amount to equal $285.14 $263 $7 $7 $13 $4 $0.13 $ 0.01 =285.14 My original order was $291.05 what they did was instead of refunding me the $6 roll of tape. They decided to charge my account again . Do the math $576.19. So all week I can't use my ATM card until it falls off my account witch takes 5 business days The Store Manager SEAN was more interested in trying to find a way out of it asking if I had any other proof I had other than my bank account app that shows all 8 CHARGES 4 of them I'm charged $35 each totaling $140.00 Sean need to take classes in customer care and not come in late from lunch ! read more

I was so excited me and my husband to gift my sister in law with a new GE washers and dryer. Unfortunately the dryer didn't work. I tried to contact the store by the phone and I couldn't reach the department for several hours. Then I decided to go in person to take care of it with the costumer service. At Castumer service I explain the problem and they schedule me the day for a pick up and drop the new dryer on the same day ( apparently). Today the technician call my number and told me that they would come at my sister-in-law's house to pick up the dryer but not drop the new dryer because they didn't have the order. I called immediately the manager on duty of the Department and he informed me that the rules are : the third company will pick up the dryer and then the store will credit the money and the Bayer will have to go to the store and process a new dryer on the same day !!! REALLY !! WHY ALL THIS WAS NOT MENTION ONECE AT THE COSTUMER SERVICE ?? Really !!! So is been a week that my sister in law is with out a dryer !! Also the manager phone call drop it and he didn't bother to call back !!! Terrible costumer service communication and extremely annoyed !!! Manager didn't want to help at all !! I never experience so in California Lowe's. read more

Went in stores to purchase a washer and dryer alone with new line plus a 3 prong outlet because they wouldn't be liable for any broken parts. A sign says free delivery next day if item is in stock (which they were in stock) instead they couldn't get it delivered next day because they were "BOOKED" until Friday/Saturday. Fine whatever, actual day of delivery came and the delivery guy drop both the appliance on the front lawn because he apparently couldn't back up his truck into the backyard to install THE appliance where we originally had our old appliance in THE basement. Called up the store manager and he said he would call back, but it took 2 good hours for a call back. All he said was that he was sorry and that the delivery guy is "busy" with delivering others' appliances. I have never experienced such a bad service for Lowe's before, maybe it's just this place. read more

I can't even explain how rude the employees were to me. Sorry that I don't spend my life in hardware stores. Employees are placed to help customers and to make the shopping experience a good one. I tend to be nice to strangers because I want to be treated the way that I treat them. I spoke to three different people (who looked away when I approached them for help) and each one was rude and disrespectful. Ugh. *disgusted with this store's lack of customer service* ** I accidentally checked in at the wrong Lowes. How? I'm not sure because I had my location on to check in on Yelp. I did visit the one near HWY 70. read more

Kitchen " designer" wasted my time, didn't focus on important facts like measuring for cabinets or who would install. I have a demanding job and he managed to waste more than a week not getting himself together on this job. I won't bother them again that is for sure.....not that they care obviously. read more

The store was busy yesterday and when I finally had someone help they were pleasant in home and garden and in the paint department. I asked an associate where the box cutters were and that I didn't need the commercial grade just something I could use for my house. She told me that is all Lowe's carried. I went back to the paint department and he took me to the isle and showed me what was available. During check out I encountered an unfriendly associate I had a buggy and a flat bed. No one offered to help me to my vehicle and I pushed one and drug one up to my vehicle. Really? read more

Great experience! Robbie helped my mom and I load a lot of mulch into our car and was very happy to help. Thanks Robbie!

I had a bad experience several years ago with Lowe's. It involved buying a lawn mower. The lawn mower was a lemon. It took me months to get the problem resolved. I never got my money back but did get a store credit. On the other hand I have bought numerous household appliances from Lowe's that were just fine. Delivery was good. OK. Moral to this story - I will never buy another lawn mower from Lowe's but they are ok for a lot of other things like building materials, bug spray, gardening supplies etc. Sometimes they have great clearance sales on flooring, carpeting etc. I seldom have to mess with their delivery service which seems to be a problem for a lot of people. read more

Went there for a Father's Day gift, already knew what I needed, was running 2 hrs. Behind an An extremely stressful big day..had no idea as to how to pick it up (Table saw in box -HUGE for me) much less transport it nor any idea where to find the "long flat buggies" (not sure what they're called). I was so frustrated trying to find a biggie thing walking ALL OVER this place but I think they were all being used. Looked for red vested employees to help but did not see a single one un-attended. Anyways I'm sure I looked pretty confused and Phillip, (store assoc.) went out of his way to offer his help, got the table saw I wanted up, immediately told me not to worry & took off, courteous the whole time. At check out he found the quickest line, & as the cashier began to talk to him about something, he stated "let's talk about that later, ring up this lady 1st". wow! Never had an employee go out of their way to help u, then PUT YOU FIRST! Phillip then continued the humility by advising me where to pull up to so as it would be as quick as possible to get loaded & out d/t the temp. was almost 90'. I'm going to also add on the way up to check out I noticed he saw a piece of paper trash like a flyer lying on the floor & he picked it up, threw in trash while we were walking & kept trucking- proving he also cares about his place of employments environment as well. This Lowe's is one of many I went to, but will become my primary one now because of people like Philip who made a stressful day an eye opening one that their still r people who make shopping a pleasure & worth getting up & doing in person just so u can feel like ur time was valuable to someone and so were you. PS: Lowe's of Hickory: use Phillip as a role model. read more

Recently purchased a new sink at lowes. Decided to go with them for instillation. Had used them previous to replace 3 doors on my house. Things went good a job well done. So I figured this will be the easy way my previous experience have always been positive. I had a detail scheduled they were to contact with us within 48 hrs. That did no happen. When we were contact we were able to have the detail estimate. While discussing the job and the cost. Installer agreed to do the job for 255 plus 50-80 to prepare the counter. (With me paying the 50-80 to him not Lowe's. On the morning of instillation I was informed that you the cost would be 500.00. I cancelled the appointment. Lowe's has done nothing to correct this. BUYER BEWARE. Don't use Lowe's for instillation. Carefully find a local person to deal with. Do not allow these people in your home. If they steal from you and Lowe's will say sorry they are contractors too bad. Just be careful do let them screw you. read more

My experience with this stores customer service is extremely HORRIBLE!! My parents bought my husband and I a new grill for this past Christmas from Lowes but we also had a family friend purchase us one at the same time as well. We decided to keep the one from the family friend and return the one from Lowes. My dad gave us the receipt to return it for FULL refund. Well life happened between now and then. We took the grill to Lowes to see if we could possibly still return or get a store credit for the UNOPENED grill . We show the girl at the return counter our receipt FIRST. She looks at it and states "Wow, back in 2014!" We explained that it was a Christmas gift and we just wanted to see what they could do for us. She proceeds to take scissors and open the box cutting the straps off and the tape to make sure it is really the grill brand new before she can return it! So at this point we're thinking were going to get the return. She looks, states that its great, walks back to the register and then says "Its's out of our 90 day policy, theres nothing that I can do. Wait a minute? You mean you had to open my new grill to realize that Christmas was more than 90 days ago? I would have been all fine and happy if when I first handed you my receipt you inform me that you can't do anything instead of keep going with the process and open the grill. I could have sold it brand new to someone unopened, but now you opened it and there is nothing. We have the manager, LaRay, come see if there was anything she could do. She looked at us with an attitude and only said "It's against our policy." And that was that. I even had to ASK if I could have some tape to tape this box back up to put it in the car.. They didn't even offer. We would have taken partial store credit to go buy a patio set we were interested in purchasing. We go out the the car, load it back up, call the customer service line. We get a guy who doesn't understand our frustration and HANGS up on US! Really? So we call back get a nice lady and she understands and puts in a service ticket for us. I called another Lowes store near by and ask if I can return a grill that I do not have a receipt for but its unopened is there anything they can do? She said yes, bring it in with your ID and we'll fix it for you! Since when is lying and not having proof of purchase a better option than being honest and upfront? Hopefully we will get some sort of resolution soon. If not Lowes has officially lost a customer to Home Depot. I would like to mention, we FULLY understand it's not policy and would have been ok with being told that UPFRONT, instead of going through all the steps and then told no. read more

Visited Lowes Home Improvement this evening to purchase lumber to build a picnic table. The cashier girl in the lumber dept. was running from the register where I was trying to purchase a cheap pair of gloves to work with the lumber to the garage door yelling at boys, maybe some worked there I don't know. They were having a regular party of some sort. She growled at me instead of asking if she could help. Very disrespectful. I wondered where the management was. After purchasing the gloves I began going through the 2"x6"x8' lumber pile. The lumber was so bad I couldn't find 9 decent pieces. A lady employee with a blue vest walked by and asked how everything was. I responded that the lumber was bad. She offered to help me pick through it but I told her I had already gone through it myself and there was not enough descent lumber there to build a picnic table. After driving 30 minutes one way just to purchase their lumber, I was never so put out by such pitiful lumber and a clerk who acted like a kid! I very disappointed in the Hickory Lowes store. read more
