I traveled from Townsend to brunswick I laid my keys on the counter to get cut and I was informed that since they did not sell me the keys the could not cut them. I left shaking my head and than came up with the following .. I buy stuff from the Townsend store to fix my house. Technically since the hardware store didn't sell me my house than why do they allow me to purchase items in their store? Just sharing my experiences and logic.. Chuck

I did a lot of online research and even with Prime, the Amazon options were not going to make it inside my last week there. I wanted a WeatherTec mat and saw this ACE had the floor mats, but I didn't see the cargo mat available on ACE's main website. On a hunch I thought, just call and see. Lucky I did because they had it in the warehouse and could order it to be ready three days from my phone call (which was over a weekend). Flo helped me and she was so nice! She even applied my latest email coupon to the order, for 10% off! I got my mat cheaper and faster than Amazon Prime! Go ACE!

I had a stellar experience at Lowe's today, and it was entirely thanks to David. I was eye-balling…read moresome Adirondack chairs but honestly didn't think there was a chance they'd fit in my car. David didn't just give me a "maybe"--he grabbed a tape measure, checked the chairs, measured my car, and did the math to make sure we weren't wasting our time. His level of service went way beyond the standard. He helped me find bungee cords and extra tables, tracked down another associate with keys to the outdoor display, and even walked us through the checkout process. To top it all off, he personally helped me load and secure everything into the vehicle. David is easily the friendliest and most professional associate I've encountered. He is a massive asset to this location, and the management should recognize that with a raise, a paid day off, or at the very least, a steak dinner. If you're stopping by this Lowe's, look for David.

The family drove from 5 hours away to do the work. The Yella Wood had clearly been on another job site since many of the boards had pencil marks, cuts, and even math. Not a real problem, except that many of the boards weren't the right length, and in one case, a 2x10-8 was actually a 2x9.25-7. When I called Coastal, their only solution was for me to bring it back to them. I obviously had it delivered for a reason. They couldn't care. I questioned this business model. The guy still couldn't care. Maybe when the lumber market cycles back down, Coastal will care about customer service, but I'll never know.

They came to the bridge and replaced the tire then we went to their parking lot and had the other tire replaced. Great service and so friendly! They got us out of a jam and we were back on the road in no time.

It's a place to go to "get a part" that does not justify going to off-island. Best strategy is to "plan ahead" to the extent possible so as not to shop here. You'll PAY for the convenience of shopping here. However, there is an exception: Ace has a very good selection of fasteners.
