Their staff are not only friendly and efficient but also extremely well-informed about their merchandise and willing to give advice; this is important to me because I have the mechanical aptitude of a mildly retarded gerbil. I've gotten the same attention whether I was buying two screws or a new Weber grill, and no one has ever tried to upsell me. My most recent experience was buying, yes, a new Weber grill from Jim Carmalt. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about every aspect of their stock and how best to use it. It was almost like talking to an old friend who had my best interest as a high priority. I thin of Village Hardware as sort of the anti-Home Depot/Loew's, I get personal service of a high order and always leave confident that I have a high-quality product and even higher quality advice. This is retail as it should be.

There were people waiting at the door the second that they opened and unfortunately I didn't plan on that. It was ok though and the wait wasn't that bad. I had a list of stuff, that included spark plugs, spark plugs cables and cap, and of course the 10W 40 oil that I've always used for my truck. What they didn't have were the spark plugs cables and special automatic transmission fluid that I needed. They told me that it was available at one of their other locations, and I really have no choice but to go there too. One of the employees in a grey shirt was extremely helpful and professional--great customer service and really tried to assist us with the return, even though the packaging was slightly damaged. Unfortunately, the experience was completely ruined by another employee (whose photo I've attached). While she was helping another customer, she loudly made disrespectful and uncalled-for comments about us, saying things like, "They prolly tryna return the wrong parts," and, "That's some snake sh*t." Totally unprofessional and unnecessary. My wife proved her wrong by pulling the exact same part off the shelf and showing that it was indeed the right item--just missing a piece of the packaging. Even after being proven wrong, this employee didn't apologize or acknowledge her behavior. She continued yelling across the store and cursing behind the register while kids were around. Completely unacceptable. This location has lost my business. Unless that employee is disciplined and taught how to act professionally, I won't be back

Sunbelt rentals in Lorton (Newington) VA is located on Kincannon Place at the top of Hill Park Dr…read more off of Cinderbed Rd. They have 2 yards. The one to the left is for "small" equipment and accessories. Some of the small equipment is really not so small. It includes most lawn and garden equipment and basically anything that one can haul in a pickup, van, or SUV. The other yard to the right at the culdesac is for large equipment and propane tanks and refills. I have rented lots of stuff over the years. They have a extensive collection of items that one would probably not purchase for limited use that a home owner would have for a dethatcher, a leave pipe threader, a 9" angle grinder or a sod cutter. They also have woodchoppers that I keep promising to rent to clear out an old wood pile some day. You get the picture. The large yard is basically heavy industry equipment that Sunbelt brings to a job site. Temporary lighting, manlifts, skid steer/bobcat setup with all manor of blades, buckets, shovels and other accessories. If 6ou have seen the Kelly green equipment rolling down the road or at a job site, you have seen Sunbelt equipment. The staff are helpful and seem to enjoy what they do. They offer good instructions on how to operate any equipment to rent. They want to make sure that you can use what you rent safely. Depending on what it is and when you need it, they are sometimes able to obtain equipment from their other locations of they don't have want you need. Check out is typically fast and easy and check in the same. Just bring back what you rented in working order and cleaned. Renters are responsible for cutting blades and other accessories that are consumables. Sunbelt offer a 10% military and veteran discount so be sure to ask for yours, if eligible. The Lorton location is convenient and the staff are great. Check them out for your rental needs.

From the outside they looked like they had something to offer. A pallet of mulch/potting soil outside. And a variety of plants. So I then went inside. I saw 2 employees in the store, but they made no effort to ask me if i needed assistanc. The girl at the register was on her tablet. And the guy was on his phone, standing with a store branded shirt. Finally as I was getting ready to depart, the girl at the register asked: If I needed anything. I said no thank you and left. Not a good first impression. At least the big box stores, greet you and ask if you need anything when you come into the store. Perhaps they will get better with time.
